Abstract

The river basin serves multiple ecological and socio-economic functions for the local community, particularly the Kromong II Watershed in Pacet District. A major issue in the upstream area of the watershed is the use of pesticides by local residents in agricultural land management. Excessive pesticide use leads to significant environmental residue accumulation. This study aimed to assess pesticide residue levels, evaluate the quality of irrigation water and soil fertility in rice fields, and map polluted locations using the ArcGIS 10.3 remote sensing application. The analysis was conducted at three designated research sites: Stations I, II, and III. Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) was analyzed using the SNI 6989.72:2009 standard, while Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) was measured following the SNI 6989.2029 method at the Mojokerto Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) Laboratory. Soil organic carbon (C-organic) was analyzed using the IKP-208 Organic Carbon Test, and total nitrogen (Total N) was determined through spectrophotometric analysis at the PT Graha Mutu Persada Laboratory. Metomil was analyzed using the Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) method, while Profenofos was analyzed using Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The study found that the highest levels of BOD and COD were recorded at Station III, with values of 11.4 mg/L and 28.6 mg/L, respectively. The highest total nitrogen (Total N) concentration was observed at Station I, measuring 0.14%, while the highest soil organic carbon (C-organic) content was found at Station III, at 7.87%. The LC-MS analysis of methomyl residues showed the highest concentration at Station III, with a value of 0.002 mg/L in irrigation water samples. Similarly, the GC-MS analysis of Profenofos residues indicated the highest concentration at Station II, measuring 8.25 ml/L. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that pesticide residue pollution, particularly from Profenofos, is most severe in the irrigation channel at Station II.

Abstract

Biodiversitas atau keanekaragaman hayati dapat disebut sebagai suatu system penting pada kehidupan makhluk hidup. Banyaknya jumlah keanekaragaman hayati meliputi berbagai makhluk hidup yang berada di dunia ini, yang beruhubungan antara individu dengan yang lainnya. Serangan serangga parasitisme yang merugikan petani mengakibatkan berkurangnya hasil panen merupakan sebuah landasan dari penelitian ini untuk menginventarisasi serangga yang merupakan parasit dan menguntungkan pada ekosistem budidaya tanaman palawija sehingga petani bisa mengaplikasikan pestisida yang tepat untuk memperoleh hasil panen yang maksimal. Penelitian ini melalui metode berupa identifikasi dari serangga yang di awali dengan melakukan inventarisasi yang paling merusak di tanaman palawija, penelitian ini menggunakan traping yellow yang diletakkan pada lahan persawahan. Pemberian senyawa feromon mengakibatkan serangga jenis kelamin betina akan banyak terperangkap. Identifikasi jenis dan spesies serangga dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi yang sesuai untuk aplikasi biopestisida yang tepat sasaran. Didapatkan hasil observasi jenis serangga sebanyak 166 Kelimpahan individu serangga terbesar adalah ordo diptera berdasarkan perangkap yang digunakan, jumlah yang berada di Yellow Trap berjumlah 30 dan yang berada di feromon trap berjumlah 136 dari dasar tersebut penentuan pestisida yang ramah lingkungan dapat dilakukan pengaplikasian rekomendasi jenis cendawan Beauverina bassiana

Abstract

Stunting merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan oleh masyarakat terutama masyarakat yang memiliki balita. Dalam upaya penurunan stunting maka dibutuhkan beberapa strategi dalam mengembalikan nutrisi agar menjadi lebih baik, mulai dari pemberdayaan ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, sampai pada tumbuh kembang anak. Lele menjadi salah satu alternatif solusi dan meningkatkan nutrisi balita stunting karena dapat membantu penyerapan nutisi yang dibutuhkan tubuh. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pemahaman bagi peserta dalam membuat SIBALE sebagai alternatif dalam memberikan nutrisi bagi balita stunting. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu pada tahap persiapan yaitu tim pengabdian masyarakat menyerahkan surat perijinan, surat kesediaan mitra, dan melaksanakan uji coba pembuatan SIBALE. Pada tahap pelaksanaan tim pengabdian masyarakat melaksanakan sosialisasi di Balai Desa Pungging, adapun materi sosialisasi yang diberikan yaitu pencegahan stunting, manfaat lele, dan pelatihan pembuatan bakso lele. Adanya pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam membuat bakso lele yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan penambah asupan gizi, sehingga pencegahan stunting dapat dilakukan.

Abstract

The intensification of modern agricultural productivity is often accompanied by a high dependency on synthetic pesticides, which, despite their immediate effectiveness, contribute to long-term ecological degradation, chemical residue contamination, and the accelerated development of pest resistance. One sustainable alternative approach involves the use of biological control agents, such as Beauveria bassiana, an entomopathogenic fungus capable of selectively infecting and killing various insect pest species in an environmentally friendly manner. This community service initiative was conducted in Candiwatu Village, Pacet Subdistrict, Mojokerto Regency, with the objective of transferring knowledge and technical skills regarding the formulation and field application of B. bassiana to local farmer groups. The implementation methods included initial observation of pesticide-related environmental issues in the Kromong II watershed area, stakeholder engagement, and participatory training sessions encompassing the concept of biopesticides, spore production techniques, and practical application strategies. The results indicated an increase in farmers' understanding of both the ecological and technical aspects of B. bassiana utilization, along with the formation of positive perceptions toward its efficacy and safety. By actively involving farmers in hands-on educational and demonstrative processes, this program contributed to fostering the adoption of biological control technologies at the local level and to establishing an institutional foundation for more adaptive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural systems.

Abstract

AbstrakPPAH (Pos Pelayanan Agen Hayati) adalah organisasi swadaya masyarakat yang memiliki aktivitas untuk produksi agens pengendali hayati. Agens pengendali hayati merupakan alternatif untuk mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap pupuk maupun pestisida sintetis. Agens hayati terbagi menjadi golongan bakteri, jamur, virus, nematoda, maupun serangga berguna. Desa Purnama merupakan desa sentra penghasil singkong. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan disemenasi agens hayati di Desa Purnama. Lokasi pengabdian terletak di Desa Purnama, Kecamatan Tegalampel, Kabupaten Bondowoso. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi disemenasi dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu: penyuluhan agens hayati, penguatan kelembaagaan PPAH dengan forum diskusi, serta evaluasi program. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah adanya peningkatakan kapasitas pengetahuan petani di Desa Purnama terkait dengan agens hayati dan fungsinya pada tanaman. Selain itu untuk meningkatkan nilai keberdayaan, melalui kelembagaan PPAH dapat meningkatkan peluang dan potensi untuk bersinergi dengan stakeholder maupun instansi pemerintah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menjadi program lanjutan pada kegiatan sebelumnya mengenai pendampingan dan produksi agens hayati. Kesimpulan pada pengabdian ini adalah petani antusias untuk meningkatkan kapasitas diri melalui penguatan kelembagaan PPAH dalam rangka meningkatkan kapasitas produksi dan hilirisasi singkong. Kata kunci: augmentasi; berguna; berkelanjutan; sekolah lapang; terpadu. AbstractPPAH (Pos Pelayanan Agen Hayati) is a non-governmental organization that has activities for the production of biological control agents. Biological control agents are an alternative to reduce dependence on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Biological agents are divided into bacteria, fungi, viruses, nematodes and useful insects. Purnama Village is a central cassava producing village. This service aims to carry out the cementation of biological agents in Purnama Village. The location of the service is located in Purnama Village, Tegalampel District, Bondowoso Regency. Implementation of activities includes cementation in several stages, namely: counseling on biological agents, strengthening PPAH institutions with discussion forums, and program evaluation. The result of this service is an increase in the knowledge capacity of farmers in Purnama Village regarding biological agents and their functions in plants. Based on that, to increase the value of empowerment, through the PPAH institution it can increase opportunities and potential to synergize with stakeholders and government agencies. This service activity is a continuation program of previous activities regarding assistance and production of biological agents. This service concludes that farmers are enthusiastic about increasing their capacity through strengthening PPAH institutions to increase cassava production and downstream capacity. Keywords: augmentation; field school; integrated; sustainable; and useful.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam pemanfaatan cendawan Beauveria bassiana sebagai agen pengendali hayati hama pada tanaman kacang panjang dan bawang merah di Desa Bendunganjati, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi petani di Desa Bendunganjati, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto adalah tingginya intensitas serangan hama serta ketergantungan terhadap pestisida kimia yang berdampak pada penurunan kualitas lingkungan dan kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan pembuatan dan aplikasi Beauveria bassiana, serta pendampingan lapangan secara partisipatif di Desa Bendunganjati, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto. Selain itu, dilakukan identifikasi hama utama pada kedua komoditas sebagai dasar penerapan pengendalian yang tepat sasaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman petani mengenai konsep pengendalian hayati dan teknik aplikasi cendawan entomopatogen. Penerapan Beauveria bassiana secara bertahap mampu menurunkan populasi hama terinventarisasi, seperti ulat dan serangga penghisap, serta mengurangi penggunaan pestisida kimia. Dampak lain yang diperoleh adalah meningkatnya kesadaran petani terhadap praktik pertanian ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini juga mendorong terbentuknya kelompok tani yang lebih mandiri dalam memproduksi agen hayati secara sederhana. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan Beauveria bassiana berpotensi menjadi solusi efektif dan berkelanjutan dalam pengendalian hama di lahan pertanian hortikultura di Desa Bendunganjati, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto.

Abstract

Entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana hold significant potential as an environmentally friendly biopesticide while simultaneously enhancing the vegetative growth of horticultural crops. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of B. bassiana application on the growth of yardlong bean (Vigna unguiculata sesquipedalis) and shallot (Allium ascalonicum), as well as to identify infected insect pests under field conditions. The experiment was conducted in Mojokerto Regency from June to September 2025 using a randomized block design (RBD) with a single factor, consisting of four levels of B. bassiana concentration (A0 = control, A1 = 10⁶ spores L⁻¹, A2 = 10⁷ spores L⁻¹, A3 = 10⁸ spores L⁻¹) and five replications. Observed parameters included plant height and leaf number at 14, 21, 35, and 42 days after planting (DAP). Analysis of variance revealed significant treatment effects on vegetative growth. In yardlong bean, treatments A2 and A3 produced the highest average plant heights, 340.05 cm and 344.39 cm at 42 DAP, while A2 yielded the highest number of leaves (21.06 leaves). In shallot, treatment A3 produced the tallest plants (43.04 cm) with leaf number comparable to the control, indicating the biostimulant role of B. bassiana in enhancing plant vigor. Field observations identified insect pests infected by B. bassiana from the orders Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, and Hemiptera, characterized by white mycelial growth. These findings confirm that B. bassiana is not only effective as a biological control agent against diverse insect orders but also functions as a biostimulant that promotes vegetative growth of horticultural crops. Its application provides an integrative strategy for integrated pest management (IPM) and supports sustainable agriculture in the upstream area of Kromong II watershed.

Abstract

Dependence on synthetic pesticides for horticultural pest control has caused environmental damage and pest resistance, especially in upstream watershed areas. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana for controlling major insect pests on long bean (Vigna unguiculata sesquipedalis) and shallot (Allium ascalonicum) and its indirect effects on vegetative growth. Field trials in Mojokerto Regency (June–September 2025) used a randomized block design with one factor: B. bassiana concentration (A0 = control, A1 = 106 spores L-1, A2 = 107 spores L-1, A3 = 108 spores L-1), each with five replications. Primary observations recorded pest incidence and infection by B. bassiana; supporting measurements were plant height and leaf number at 14, 21, 35, and 42 days after planting. Treatments A2 and A3 produced significantly higher pest infection rates identified in Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, and Hemiptera by characteristic white mycelial sporulation compared with the control. Reduced pest pressure in these treatments corresponded with significant increases in plant height and leaf number for both crops. Results indicate that B. bassiana at 107–108 spores L-1 is an effective biocontrol agent against multiple pest orders and can indirectly enhance vegetative vigor, supporting its integration into environmentally friendly IPM programs.

Abstract

Air quality and soil fertility are critical factors for sustaining agricultural productivity. This study, conducted in Kebontunggul Village from July to September 2025, evaluated ambient air quality and soil fertility at two distinct sites. Results indicated that major air pollutants such as SO₂, NO₂, O₃, and CO remained below permissible limits, suggesting relatively safe conditions, though variations in NH₃, Pb, and TSP highlight potential long-term risks requiring monitoring. Soil analysis revealed contrasting characteristics: Site 1 had low available phosphorus (4.20 mg/kg) but higher organic carbon (3.36%), while Site 2 showed higher phosphorus (7.24 mg/kg) yet lower organic carbon (2.85%). These findings underscore the need for site-specific management strategies, with organic inputs prioritized at Site 2 and phosphorus fertilization emphasized at Site 1 to enhance productivity while maintaining agricultural sustainability.

Abstract

The growth of the organic market and the demand for residue reduction are driving the need for environmentally friendly inputs, but biopesticide adoption at the farmer level remains limited. This study analyzes the dynamics of biopesticide demand by assessing the impact of willingness to pay (WTP), operational performance, and the Go Organic Program in two agroecological contexts: Bendunganjati Village (Pacet) and Randugenengan Village (Dlanggu). The research design was a quantitative explanatory survey (cross-sectional) using stratified random sampling. The instruments were validated and reliable. The analysis used multiple linear regression to test the influence of explanatory factors on demand and usage intensity, and an exponential smoothing approach to predict monthly demand. The results show that Willingness to Pay has a positive and significant effect on demand, the Go Organic Program has a negative and significant effect, indicating a possible substitution to biopesticide production practices, while operational performance is positive but not significant. The model is simultaneously significant, indicating that the variation in demand is explained by the three variables. For forecasting, a larger alpha provides the closest trace to the actual data and produces more accurate predictions for the following period than a smaller alpha. These findings confirm that strengthening WTP based on evidence of efficacy and redesigning the implementation of the Go Organic Program to encourage, rather than substitute, commercial demand is more crucial than operational improvements alone. Managerial recommendations include measurable demonstration plots, packaging economy, visual SOPs, stock and lead time management, and the integration of biopesticide materials into the Go Organic Program module.
