Abstract

The objective of this study is to understand the influence of meteorological conditions of logva water availability in karst area, Gunungkidul Regency. Meteorological condition analysis was determined by creating meteorological water balance using Thornthwaite Mather method. Water availability condition was determined by using multi-temporal images. Then, the result of water balance was matched with the logva water availability derived from multi-temporal images. The result shows that meteorological conditions will influence logva water availability in karst area, Gunungkidul Regency. It was shown by comparing the amount of logva in surplus months and deficit months. The amount of logva in surplus months is more than in deficit months. In addition, the longer meteorological water deficit, the amounts of detected logva decreases. Based on that condition, it means that meteorological water balance analysis can be used to plan disaster mitigation based on the time and duration of deficit months.

Abstract

Tradition and religion interact closely to the rural community, which is shown in their culture. This concept was applied to spring conservation in the rural area. The objective of this research was to show the role of tradition and religion in the use of spring based conservation by rural community. This research used a case study method. Data were collected by field surveys and interviews. The respondents were chosen randomly because the characteristic of the community was homogenous. The results of this research showed that tradition and religion in form of cultural ritual called spring cleaning (nguras sumber) and “be grateful to God” (slametan) had been capable to keep the sustainability of water resources in the spring, both the quantities and qualities of water. Nguras Sumber and Slametan were directed by a traditional leader called “Juru Kunci” followed by the community. The water resources were used for domestic water consumption, tourism, agriculture, and livestock throughout the year, even excessive in the rainy season. Therefore, the culture of Nguras Sumber and Slametan could be maintained as a form of spring’s conservation.

Abstract

The small island has a very unique hydrological characteristics. The unique character are low rainfall, rain catchment narrow and high vulnerability to seawater intrusion. This study aims to (1) analyze the groundwater hydrogeochemistry facies in Panggang Cay and (2) to analyze the evolution of groundwater hydrogeochemistry in Panggang Cay. Data used include major element analysis results of the groundwater samples taken from the study site. Hidrogeochemistry fasies of groundwater determined the type of diagram analysis stiff, while the analysis of the hydrogeochemistry evolution of groundater analyzed using piper diagram. Groundwater hydrochemical facies in Panggang Cay is MgCl2 with hydrogeochemical evolution of CaCO3 into MgCl2. The evolution of hydrogeochemistry fasies that occur indicate the sea water intrusion process.

Abstract

AbstractSiklon tropis cempaka yang terjadi pada tahun 2017 tidak hanya meninggalkan jejak berupa dampak bencana, tetapi juga pelajaran berharga tentang bencana banjir di kawasan karst serta dinamikan bentuklahan yang menyertainya. Salah satu kawasan yang terdampak parah siklon tersebut adalah Luweng Belimbing yang terletak di Desa Pacarejo, Kecamatan Semanu, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika Luweng Belimbing pasca Siklon Tropis Cempaka. Analisis dinamika dilakukan dengan menganalisis perubahan luas luweng berdasarkan kajian sebelumnya menggunakan hasil pencitraan pesawat tanpa awak, survei lapangan dan wawancara dengan masyarakat sekitar Luweng Belimbing. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dinamika dapat dibagi menjadi lima tahapan yang saling berurutan.Kata Kunci: Siklon Tropis Cempaka, Dinamika Bentuklahan, Karst, Banjir, Luweng BelimbingTropical cyclones Cempaka that occurred in 2017 not only left the impact of disasters but also valuable lessons about flooding in the karst region and the accompanying landform dynamics. One of the areas badly affected by the cyclone is Belimbing Doline located in Pacarejo Village, Semanu District, Gunungkidul Regency. This research aims to analyze the dynamics of Belimbing Doline after Tropical Cyclone Cempaka. Dynamics analysis is done by analyzing changes in doline area based on previous studies using drone imaging results, field surveys and interviews with communities around Belimbing Doline. Abstract

Pemahaman tentang sistem hidrogeologi dan wilayah tangkapan air dari sebuah mata air sangatlah penting. Hal ini untuk membantu pengelolaan yang menjaga kelestariannya. Mataair Beton merupakan salah satu mataair yang memiliki peranan yang sangat penting di wilayah Ponjong, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Suplai air dari mataair ini digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih, irigasi persawahan dan perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konektivitas dan karakterisasi lorong di sistem hidrogeologi Mataair Beton. Metode yang digunakan adalah tracer test dengan menggunakan fluorescent dyes. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Ponor Seropan memiliki konektivitas dengan Mataair Beton, dan memiliki karakteristik lorong berupa single conduit. Perkembangan lorong yang lanjut menunjukkan bahwa sistem hidrogeologi di lokasi kajian sangat dipengaruhi oleh imbuhan airtanah dari sistem alogenik yang berhulu di wilayah non-karst dan memiliki kerentanan terhadap pencemaran airtanah yang tinggi.Kata Kunci: Karst, Sungai Alogenik, Kawasan Karst Gunung Sewu, Uji Perunutan, Mataair BetonAn understanding of the hydrogeological system and catchment area of spring is very important. This is to help manage that maintains its sustainability. Beton Resurgence is one of the springs that have a very important role in the Ponjong area, Gunungkidul Regency. Water supply from the spring is used to supply clean water, irrigated rice fields, and fisheries. This study aims to determine the connectivity and characterization of Passage in the Beton hydrogeological system. The method used is a tracer test using fluorescent dyes. The results of the analysis of breaktrough curve indicate that Seropan Sinking Stream has connectivity with Beton resurgence, and has passage characteristics in the form of a single conduit. The further development of the passage shows that the hydrogeological system is strongly influenced by groundwater recharge originating from an allogenic system that originates in non-karst areas and has a high groundwater vulnerability to pollution. Keywords: Karst, Allogenic River, Gunungsewu Karst Area, Tracer Test, Beton Resurgence

Abstract

Allogenic recharge generally contributes to the formation of the main underground river system in a karst area. However, allogenic recharge have a higher susceptibility to contamination than autogenic recharge. This is because recharge from allogenic rivers enters the underground river system without undergoing filtration by soil or rock cavities. This paper discusses changes to ministerial regulations related to karst management that have led to the exclusion of allogenic river areas from the management of allogenic rivers, examines the urgency of managing allogenic rivers, and recommends future management of karst areas from the perspective of water resources management. The change in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) regulation regarding karst management has led to a simplification of the scope related to the main tasks and functions of the Ministry of ESDM. This should be followed by making changes to regulations that are higher than the ministerial level regulations so that the management objectives stated in the previous regulation can be covered and there is holistic management of the karst area.

Abstract

The transition zone of the Wonosari and Nglanggran Formation in Purwosari District has the characteristics of thick soil, steep slopes, and no outcrops. The different characteristics found in the Wonosari Formation Zone are characterized by polygonal karst formations with thin soil and limestone rocks, and the Nglanggran Formation in the form of thick soil, andesite rock outcrops, and steep slopes. Geomorphological mapping of the Nglanggran and Wonosari Formation can be done easily through morphological approaches and outcrops. Geomorphological mapping is quite difficult to do in the transition of the Wonosari and Nglanggran Formation because it does not have outcrops and is difficult to interpret from morphology. Soil geomorphological approach needs to be done to define landform units for areas that do not have outcrops dan difficult to interpret through morphology. The purpose of this study was to map the geomorphological distribution of soil characteristics in the geological transition zone. The methods used to identify landform units are morphological delineation and soil survey. The morphological delineation for landform units was obtained from aerial photographs. The results of the delineation of landforms from aerial photographs are detailed by soil surveys. The results of the delineation of landforms using aerial photography produce high resolution, smooth, and firm compared to other sources. The results of the delineation of landforms from aerial photos obtained two units of landforms, limestone karst hills, Wonosari formation and andesitic rocky hills, Nglanggran formation. There is a transitional transition zone in the TP7 soil sample with the color change from dark brown (karst) to light brown (old volcanic). The thickness of the soil in the old volcanic is more than 1 meter and deeper than the karst soil (< 60 cm). The transition zone has three soil horizons A, B, and B/C which are classified as more developed than the karst region (A and B horizons). The soil texture in old volcanic is clay and silt, while the dominant karst area is clay.

Abstract

Sungai Bawah Tanah Seropan memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam penyediaan air baku di Kabupaten Gunungkidul, sehingga kondisinya dari sisi kualitas dan kuantitas sangat penting untuk dijaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak aktivitas antropogenik terhadap kualitas Sungai Bawah Tanah Seropan. Pengambilan sampel airtanah dilakukan setiap dua minggu selama Bulan Februari sampai dengan Juni 2022.  Analisis hidrogeokimia yang dilakukan meliputi analisis kimia, fisika dan biologi dengan berfokus pada beberapa parameter yang mengindikasikan terjadinya pencemaran oleh aktivitas antropogenik seperti Nitrat (NO3-), Fosfat (PO43-), Klorida (Cl-), Sulfat (SO4-) dan Koliform Total. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi analisis matching dengan baku mutu kualitas air, analisis ion dominan dan proses dominan dengan diagram Schoeller dan Trilinear, serta analisis perbandingan ion untuk melihat indikasi dampak aktivitas antropogenik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun hanya dua parameter yang melebihi baku mutu (Fosfat dan Koliform Total), tetapi nilai Klorida yang melebihi Natrium pada 3 sampel, korelasi Sulfat yang rendah dibandingkan dengan Anion yang lain serta tingginya kandungan Nitrat dibandingkan Klorida menunjukkan adanya indikasi dampak dari aktivitas antropogenik. Aktivitas antropogenik yang berdampak pada kualitas air Sungai Bawah Tanah Seropan adalah pembuangan black water (tinja) dan pupuk pada aktivitas pertanian.
