Abstract

The development of the marine and fisheries sector is a mainstay sector to improve the Indonesian economy (Blue Economy), where aquaculture is a fairly productive and growing sub-sector. Not only sea waters, Indonesia also has very good freshwater potential for development based on aquaculture. Silver barb (Barbonymus gonionotus) is a native freshwater fish from Indonesia and is one of the economical consumption fish that is affordable for the community. The data collection techniques used are primary data and secondary data. This technique is carried out by Primary data, namely data obtained in the field from observations during the implementation of research. Primary data can be in the form of direct observation or observation, namely directly observing the activities carried out such as observing fish growth by looking at the increase in length and weight. Secondary data, namely data obtained from various books, journals, statistical data, articles, and others. Maintenance of silver barb broodstock is carried out by preparing the pond first starting from drying, liming, fertilizing, filling with water, then maintaining the broodstock. Maintenance of silver barb broodstock for 28 days resulted in SR (Survival Rate) values for males of 100% and females of 99%, then FCR (feed conversion rate) for males of 1.64 and females of 1.72. Water quality measurements were carried out 5 times a week and the range obtained was temperature 28-32 ⁰C, pH 8–8.6 and DO (Dissolved oxygen) 8–9.7 mg/l.

Abstract

Abalone is one of the species of the Gastropoda class. There are 7 types of abalone that are spread throughout Indonesian waters, including Haliotis asinina, H. varia, H. squamata, H. ovina, H. glabra, H. planate and H. crebrisculpta. Abalone Haliotis squamata is one of the abalone species that is cultivated at Balai Perikanan Budidaya Laut (BPBL) Lombok. The abalone breeding technique at BPBL Lombok is carried out massively with a ratio of male and female abalone breeders of 1:3. The success rate of abalone breeding is determined by the level of gonad maturity, water quality, irradiation period as well as the length and weight of the abalone body. Abalone breeding begins with container preparation by adding 300 chlorinated limes (kaporit). Abalone breeders are maintained by placing them in a 300 x 80 x 80 cm fiber tank containing four baskets, three baskets containing female abalones and one basket containing male abalones. The feed given to abalone breeders is Gracilaria sp. and Ulva sp., while the feed for larvae is Nitzchia sp. feed. Abalone breeding begins with breeder selection. Breeders used are those that have mature gonads or gonads that have entered TKG 3 which are marked by gonad size larger than the shell. Abalone breeders must be over 4 cm in size and free from disease and. Abalone breeding is marked by the presence of a fishy smell and cloudy water in the container. The number of eggs produced from mass breeding is 1,041,600 grains.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Coastal environmental management has an important role in maintaining balance in terms of ecology, economy and society which is a source of life for coastal communities. Coastal areas often face pressure due to human activities in the form of environmental pollution which causes indiscriminate waste disposal and ecosystem degradation. Pemongkong Village, Jerowaru District, which is one of the coastal areas of East Lombok, has beaches including Ujung Betook Beach which is one of the environmental assets and sources of livelihood, both through the aquaculture, capture and tourism sectors. The problem of waste in coastal areas is increasing due to human activities, lack of good waste management, and minimal awareness of the importance of maintaining coastal cleanliness. One solution in managing the coastal environment is through a beach cleanup movement. Beach cleanup activities in several coastal areas show increasing concern and community participation in maintaining the coastal environment. This movement not only aims to clean up waste, but also to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining coastal sustainability. This community service activity has two stages, namely the preparation stage and the implementation stage of the beach cleanup movement. The implementation stage in this activity uses a participation method. The community service activity went smoothly. Participants in this service consisted of all elements of the Ujung Betok community, ranging from children to adults. The waste found in this activity can be classified into three types, namely waste from coastal community activities, waste left by tourists, and natural waste such as tree branches. The majority of waste found from the three types of waste is inorganic waste in the form of plastic waste. Education related to types of waste and waste management is also provided as information and knowledge. The conclusion that can be drawn from this community service activity is that the community service activity went smoothly according to plan and information related to coastal management through the Ujung Betok beach cleanup movement has been received enthusiastically by participants.

Abstract

Spiny lobsters (Panulirus homarus) are a high-value fishery commodity with strong demand in both local and international markets. Ujung Betok, located on the coast of East Lombok, is a center for spiny lobster aquaculture using floating net cages (FNC). Despite growing production, a common issue observed during transport is the decline in lobster quality, and in some cases, mortality, which significantly reduces market value. To address this problem, technical training was conducted focusing on post-harvest handling and transportation techniques aimed at preserving lobster quality up to the point of delivery. The activity was carried out through field surveys, educational sessions, and hands-on practical demonstrations at the FNC sites in Ujung Betok. Effective post-harvest handling is indicated by the lobster's ability to survive transport in healthy, undamaged condition, maintaining freshness equivalent to that at harvest. The post-harvest procedure includes sorting, holding, cold stunning, packaging, and transportation. Drier packaging methods have shown to significantly extend survival during transit. The fundamental principle of spiny lobster handling and packaging is to maintain product quality while minimizing physical injury and stress, both of which can lead to mortality.

Abstract

Abstract

Modification of floating net cages (FNC) to multi-level floating net cages (MFNC) is one of the integrated cultivation options which is believed to be able to increase production capacity without increasing the horizontal area of the cultivation area. Therefore, research was conducted with the aim of comparing the growth performance, survival and physiological behavior of lobsters cultivated in FNC and MFNC. The research method used was a field experiment with comparative analysis between lobster cultivation using the MFNC and FNC systems where each treatment was repeated 3 times. The parameters observed were growth performance, survival and physiological behavior of lobsters, growth and survival of    snubnose pompano and abalone as well as water quality. Data analysis was carried out using the paired sample t test.  The results of the research showed that there were no significant differences in the growth performance, survival and physiological behavior of lobsters reared using multi-level floating net cages and floating net cages (p > 0.05). Thus, the application of the multi-level floating net cage system in lobster cultivation is efficient in optimal use of space. Apart from that, the water quality of Ekas Bay is classified as suitable as a cultivation area for lobster, snubnose pompano and abalone, where cultivation activities using a multi-level net cage system do not have an impact on water quality, especially the parameters of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and salinity.

Abstract

Feed is a very important factor because it takes up 60-70% of the total operational costs, so that feed provided according to needs will stimulate optimal growth and development of shrimp production. The use of auto feeder machines can help in providing shrimp feed more effectively and maintaining water quality to remain stable and suitable for vannamei shrimp cultivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of feeding in vannamei shrimp ( Litopenaeus vannamei ) cultivation . The method used in this study is the method descriptive, the data analyzed in this study is shrimp growth data obtained from sampling results and water quality data both in the field and laboratory. The results of this study are that the daily growth (ADG) of vannamei shrimp is in the range of 0.22-0.38 grams, this data is already optimal and for the average weight (MBW) obtained 4.56 grams then increased over time to reach DOC 108 with a weight of 24.97 grams. Based on the results of the average weight growth obtained, it is known that the growth is optimal and it is known that the water quality value is still in optimal condition in vannamei shrimp cultivation, both physical and chemical parameters. From this study it is known that feeding using an auto feeder has a good effect on the growth of ADG and MBW shrimp and also the feed given using an auto feeder can minimize feed falling to the bottom so that water quality is maintained and remains in optimal condition for vannamei shrimp cultivation. Abstract

Stunting in children under five years old is the most common nutritional problem in Indonesia, namely around 30.8%. Stunting is characterized by a body height that is shorter than the average height of children in the same age. The high number cases of stunted toddlers has become a concern for the Government, where various efforts have been made to reduce the stunting rate, one of which is through socialization. Based on the results of location survey, Awang Preparation Village, in Central Lombok Regency has never received stunting socialization, so there are still many people who don't know about stunting and the benefits of fish nutrition to prevent stunting itself. The method for this activity is socialization which consists of 2 stages, namely 1) preparation which includes material preparation and timing, and 2) implementation, namely the ongoing socialization activity. This activity was attended by a total of 29 participants from among women consisting of housewives and teenagers. The results obtained after the socialization activities were that participants had a better understanding of what stunting is and how to prevent it. Apart from that, participants also know what the nutritional content of fish is so that it can be a solution to prevent stunting. Increasing maternal knowledge and awareness of the dangers of stunting can be an early indicator of a decline in stunting cases.
