Abstract

Feed is a very important factor because it takes up 60-70% of the total operational costs, so that feed provided according to needs will stimulate optimal growth and development of shrimp production. The use of auto feeder machines can help in providing shrimp feed more effectively and maintaining water quality to remain stable and suitable for vannamei shrimp cultivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of feeding in vannamei shrimp ( Litopenaeus vannamei ) cultivation . The method used in this study is the method descriptive, the data analyzed in this study is shrimp growth data obtained from sampling results and water quality data both in the field and laboratory. The results of this study are that the daily growth (ADG) of vannamei shrimp is in the range of 0.22-0.38 grams, this data is already optimal and for the average weight (MBW) obtained 4.56 grams then increased over time to reach DOC 108 with a weight of 24.97 grams. Based on the results of the average weight growth obtained, it is known that the growth is optimal and it is known that the water quality value is still in optimal condition in vannamei shrimp cultivation, both physical and chemical parameters. From this study it is known that feeding using an auto feeder has a good effect on the growth of ADG and MBW shrimp and also the feed given using an auto feeder can minimize feed falling to the bottom so that water quality is maintained and remains in optimal condition for vannamei shrimp cultivation. Abstract

This study investigates the abundance and diversity of bacteria associated with two intertidal seaweeds, Sargassum sp. and Kappaphycus alvarezii, in Ekas Bay. Intertidal zones are dynamic environments where seaweeds and their associated microbial communities play crucial roles in ecological processes. Seaweeds host a variety of bacteria that contribute to nutrient cycling, seaweed health, and overall ecosystem function. The primary variable measured in this study was the bacterial abundance, expressed as Colony Forming Units per milliliter (CFU/mL). The conclusion of these findings has positive implications for the environmental health around the floating raft, base stakes, Sargassum sp. and Kappaphycus alverazii. The absence of harmful bacteria supports the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems and can provide positive benefits for the species inhabiting those areas.

Abstract

Ekas Bay is a semi-enclosed bay and estuary in the southern part of Lombok Island. Ekas Bay has an area of 5,312.68 hectares, although it is not very wide, this bay has its own uniqueness and is relatively protected from waves because it is located inland. In Ekas Bay itself, two river estuaries are found, namely the Awang River Estuary and the Kelongkong River Estuary. The existence of these two river estuaries has a negative impact on the condition of the waters of Ekas Bay because residue from household activities is carried away by the river current, one of which is plastic waste. The presence of microplastics on ocean coasts has a negative impact on sea water quality and the life of marine biota, microplastics cannot evaporate or degrade by themselves, microplastics will accumulate in sea water and the body parts of marine biota. This research aims to identify the type and abundance of microplastics in the Ekas Bay floating net cage area and the results obtained in water samples were that the abundance of microplastics at point A was 49.44 par/L, point B was 55.76 par/L and point C was 40.40 par /L. The abundance of microplastics in sediment samples at point A was 12.25 par/L, point B was 10.8 par/L and point C was 11.01 par/L.

Abstract

Freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) is a freshwater species which intensively cultivated. Calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) are crucial factors supporting the biological and physiological activities of freshwater prawns. The presence of calcium and magnesium minerals in the environment is utilized by the prawns, especially after the molting process. Calcium and magnesium play roles in osmoregulation and the formation of the prawn's carapace. This study aims to determine the optimal ratio of calcium and magnesium minerals to support molting frequency, specific growth rate, survival rate, and feed efficiency. The experimental design used in this research is a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replicates. The treatment given consisted of increasing Ca-Mg in the media: A: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 0 mg l-1 Mg (1:0); B: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 15 mg l-1 Mg (1:0.5); C: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 30 mg l-1 Mg (1:1); D: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 45 mg l-1 Mg (1:1.5) and E: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 60 mg l-1 Mg (1:2). Based on the result, treatment C: 30 mg l-1 Ca + 30 mg l-1 Mg (1:1) was found to improve molting frequency, growth rate, feed efficiency and survival rate.

Abstract

The catch of fishermen around Ampenan waters is dominated by Mackerel scad and rucah. Fish caught by fishermen around Ampenan waters are usually landed at the Ampenan fish market to be traded. Mackerel scad (Decapterus sp.) is a pelagic fish that lives in groups and is spread out. Mackerel scad (Decapterus sp.) In addition to having a cheap price, Mackerel scad (Decapterus sp.) also has good nutritional value so that Mackerel scad is included in important economic products. The biological aspect in the form of the relationship between length and weight in Ampenan waters is important to study in efforts to manage fisheries in West Nusa Tenggara, especially Ampenan. Efforts to manage fisheries through fisheries biology information related to the relationship between length and weight aim to determine the variation in weight and length of Mackerel scad (Decapterus sp.) individually or in groups as an indicator of the productivity, health and growth conditions of Mackerel scad obtained in these waters. The study was conducted in March 2024 using survey methods and regression analysis. The number of samples used in this study was 50 Mackerel scad (Decapterus sp.) which were taken randomly at the Ampenan fish market. The results of linear regression and graphs of the relationship between the length and weight of Mackerel scad samples (Decapterus sp.) in this study produced a regression equation Y = 0.04855x 2.2973 with a coefficient of determination (r2) of 62% and a b value of 2.29, meaning b <3 which means negative allometric which means that length growth is faster than weight growth.

Abstract

The development of the marine and fisheries sector is a mainstay sector to improve the Indonesian economy (Blue Economy), where aquaculture is a fairly productive and growing sub-sector. Not only sea waters, Indonesia also has very good freshwater potential for development based on aquaculture. Silver barb (Barbonymus gonionotus) is a native freshwater fish from Indonesia and is one of the economical consumption fish that is affordable for the community. The data collection techniques used are primary data and secondary data. This technique is carried out by Primary data, namely data obtained in the field from observations during the implementation of research. Primary data can be in the form of direct observation or observation, namely directly observing the activities carried out such as observing fish growth by looking at the increase in length and weight. Secondary data, namely data obtained from various books, journals, statistical data, articles, and others. Maintenance of silver barb broodstock is carried out by preparing the pond first starting from drying, liming, fertilizing, filling with water, then maintaining the broodstock. Maintenance of silver barb broodstock for 28 days resulted in SR (Survival Rate) values for males of 100% and females of 99%, then FCR (feed conversion rate) for males of 1.64 and females of 1.72. Water quality measurements were carried out 5 times a week and the range obtained was temperature 28-32 ⁰C, pH 8–8.6 and DO (Dissolved oxygen) 8–9.7 mg/l.
