Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengurangi jumlah siswa yang memiliki masalah pada kompetensi mendengarkan di kelas X.3 SMA Laboratorium Undiksha dengan menggunakan kombinasi Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dan Vocabulary Learning Strategy (VLS). Dengan kata lain, penelitian ini ingin meningkatkan kompetensi mendengarkan siswa berdasarkan indikator penilaian yang ditetapkan oleh sekolah. Subjek dari penelitioan ini terdiri dari 25 siswa, 10 orang perempuan dan 15 orang laki-laki. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang melaksanakan dua siklus. Ada empat fase yang dilakukan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini yaitu planning, action, observation, dan reflection. Data yang didapatkan didapatkan dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa jumlah siswa secara umum yang memiliki masalah pada kompetensi mendengarkan secara konsisten menurun. Sedangkan jumlah siswa yang memiliki masalah pada kompetensi mendengarkan berdasarkan jenis teks yang terdiri dari narrative, descriptive, dan news item menurun secara bervariasi dan siswa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mereka berdasarkan indikator mendengarkan yang ditetapkan. Kesimpulan penilitian ini adalah kombinasi antara CTL dan VLS mampu meningkatkan kompetensi mendengarkan siswa dalam teks narrative, descriptive, dan news item. Kombinasi CTL dan VLS juga membuat siswa mampu mengidentifikasi ide pokok, informasi khusus, acuan kata, dan ati kata/frase/kalimat. Kata Kunci : kompetensi mendengarkan, CTL, VLS The objective of this research was decrease the number of students having problem in listening competency in X.3 class of SMA Laboratorium Undiksha by using the combination of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Vocabulary Learning Strategy (VLS). In other words, it improved students’ listening competency based on performance indicator determined by the school. The subject consisted of 25 students with 10 females and 15 males. This research was designed in the form of classroom action-based research which conducted two cycles. There were 4 phases included, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively. The result of research showed that the number of students having listening problem in general decreased consistently, number of students having problem based text types consisted of narrative, descriptive and news item was varied, and students were able to achieve listening’s indicators. It could be conclude that CTL combined with VLS could improve students’ listening competency in narrative, descriptive, and news items especially in identifying main idea, specific information, textual reference and word/phrase/sentence meaning in X.3 class of SMA Laboratorium Undiksha. keyword : Listening Competency, CTL, VLS

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tindak tutur yang dipakai oleh siswa front office untuk menjalankan tugas-tugas seorang resepsionis di SMK Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja, menganalisis gaya bahasa yang dipakai dalam menjalankan tugas-tugas resepsionis, dan menganalisis errors yang diucapkan oleh siswa di SMK Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dalam bidang penelitian lapangan. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah kelas XII AP1 jurusan akomodasi perhotelan. Data diperoleh melalui metode eliciting data, rekaman, dan transkripsi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan Searle’s Taxonomy, yaitu: Representatives, Directives, Commissives, Expressives and Declaratives. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur locutionary yang digunakan oleh siswa front office adalah directives asking, directives requesting, directives commanding, directives inviting, directives permiting, directives welcoming, representatives insist, representatives state, representatives report, representatives suggest, commissives promise, commissives appointment, commissives offer, expressive thanking, expressive apologizing, dan declaratives promoting. Gaya bahasa yang dipakai oleh siswa front office dalam menjalankan tugas- tugas front office dalam kategori bahasa resmi adalah 83.75% menggunakan bahasa formal dan 16.25% menggunakan bahasa tidak formal. Selain itu, errors yang dilakukan dalam tindak tutur dan gaya bahasa siswa front office tersebut adalah dalam tata bahasa yaitu 5.69% dan diksi yaitu 12.08%. Sebagian besar siswa front office tersebut melakukan errors karena gangguan dari stuktur bahasa asli terhadap stuktur bahasa asing. Kata Kunci : SMK, belajar EFL, tindak tutur, gaya bahasa, errors This research aimed at analyzing the locutionary acts used in utilizing front office tasks by the students of front office at Vocational School or Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja, analyzing speech styles used in utilizing the front office tasks by the students of front office in terms of formality at SMK Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja and analyzing errors are committed in their speeches in terms of grammar and diction at SMK Pariwisata Triatnajaya Singaraja. This study was qualitative research in terms of field research. The subjects of this study were the front office students of SMK Pariwisata Triatnajaya singaraja especially the XII AP1 Class. The data were obtained through eliciting data, recording and data transcription. The obtained data were analyzed based on Searle’s Taxonomy, namely: Representatives, Directives, Commissives, Expressives and Declaratives. The result of this study shows that the locutionary acts in utilizing front office tasks by the students of front office at SMK Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja were directives asking, directives requesting, directives commanding, directives inviting, directives permiting, directives welcoming, representatives insist, representatives state, representatives report, representatives suggest, commissives promise, commissives appointment, commissives offer, expressive thanking, expressive apologizing, and declaratives promoting. The speech styles used in utilizing front office tasks by the students of front office in terms of formality among prospective front officers at SMK Pariwisata Triatmajaya Singaraja were 83.75% of formal language and 16.25% of informal language. Besides, the errors that were committed in their speeches in terms of grammar and diction were 5.69% errors of grammar and 12.08% errors of diction. Most of the prospective front officers’ errors that they committed were call as interlanguage errors. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis tindak tutur, dan gaya berbicara serta kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas XI di SMA N 1 Amlapura. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan cara kualitatif, dengan merekrut 30 siswa SMA N 1 Amlapura. Tindak tutur dan gaya berbicara diperoleh dengan menggunakan simulasi ujaran. Ucapan direkam, ditulis dan diproses secara kualitatif. Data dianalisis dengan mengelompokkan, mendeskripsikan, menjelaskan, dan menyimpulkan. Temuan ini menunjukkan sebagai berikut; pertama, ada empat tindak tutur yang paling umum digunakan dalam mengerjakan tugas, yaitu constantives, directives, commisives dan acknowledgement. Constantive adalah jenis tindak tutur yang paling dominan yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas XI di SMA N 1 Amlapura dengan persentase 93%, Frekuensi directives adalah 7 dengan persentase 3%. Acknowledgement menunjukkan frekuensi 6 dengan persentase 2,5%, dan yang terakhir adalah commisives dengan frekuensi 4 dan dengan persentase 1,7%. Kedua, dari segi gaya berbicara, ada perbedaan yang jelas dari frekuensi dan persentase antara bahasa standar dan bahasa non-standar yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas XI di SMA N 1 Amlapura. Frekuensi penggunaan bahasa standar adalah 230 dengan persentase 95,8%. Frekuensi penggunaan bahasa non-standar adalah 10 dengan persentase 4,2%. Ketiga, jenis kesalahan gramatikal merupakan jenis keslahan yang paling dominan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Amlapura dengan frekuensi 10 dari total 240 ucapan. Sementara itu, tidak ada jenis kesalahan lain yang ditemukan dalam jenis tindak tutur lainnya. Kata Kunci : kompetensi pragmatik, deskriptif kualitatif, tindak tutur, jenis kesalahan. This study analyzed the speech act types, and style as well as the errors committed by the eleventh grade students at SMA N 1 Amlapura. This study was designed with qualitative manner, by recruiting 30 students of SMA N 1 Amlapura. The speech acts and styles were elicited by using simulated utterances. The utterances were recorded, transcribed and processed qualitatively. The data were analyzed by categorizing, describing, explaining, and concluding. The finding showed the following; firstly, there were four speech acts most commonly used in excuting the tasks, namely constantives, directives, commisives and acknowledgement. Constantive was the most dominant type of speech act that exist among the eleventh grade students at SMA N 1 Amlapura with the percentage 93%, The frequency of directives was 7 with the percentage 3%. The acknowledgement showed the frequency 6 with the percentage 2.5%, and the last was commisives with the frequency 4 and with the percentage 1.7%. Secondly, in terms of speech style, there was clear distinction of the frequency and the percentage between the standard language and non-standard language used by the eleventh grade students at SMA N 1 Amlapura. The frequency of the use of standard language was 230 with the percentage 95.8%. The frequency of the use of non-standard language was 10 with the percentage 4.2%. The last, grammatical types of errors was the most dominant types of error committed by the eleventh grade students of SMA N 1 Amlapura with the frequency 10 from the total 240 speeches. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini terfokus pada analisis tindak tutur lokusi, jenis-jenis gaya bahasa yang berhubungan dengan kesopanan diantara siswa calon resepsionis SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan, dan kesalahan-kesalahan gaya bahasa yang berhubungan dengan tindak tutur lokusi dengan tugas-tugas serorang resepsionis. Ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Tehnik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei. Data dari penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menugaskan setiap siswa untuk mengucapkan tugas-tugas dari seorang resepsionis. Data dari penelitian ini diolah secara deskriptif dengan berfokus pada tindak tutur lokusi, tingkat kesopanan, dan kesalahan yang ditemukan di setiap tugas. Penemuan yang pertama menunjukkan bahwa ada empat tindak tutur lokusi yang sering digunakan oleh calon resepsionis SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan. Penemuan yang kedua menunjukkan bahwa tindak tutur lokusi lebih banyak di ekspresikan secara sopan (98.5%) daripada tidak sopan(1.5%). Penemuan ketiga menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa sering terjadi pada penyambutan tamu dan pencatatan identitas tamu. Saran diberikan kepada guru SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan untuk menggunakan tindak tutur lokusi secara variatif. Kata Kunci : tindak tutur lokusi, gaya bahasa, siswa calon resepsionis AABSTRACT This research focused on the types of locutionary acts, speech styles in terms of politeness used by the prospective front officers of SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan, and the errors committed in their speech styles in terms of the appropriateness of locutionary acts and their respondent task. This research was a qualitative research. It was an observational study using a survey technique. The data were collected by assigning each student to express each of front office tasks verbally. Data were analyzed descriptively in terms of locutionary acts categories, level of politeness, and types of errors of each front office task. The first finding shows; there are four locutionary acts more frequently used by prospective front officers of SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan when they were assigning each of front office tasks. The second finding shows; the locutionary acts were expressed more in polite style (98.5%) than impolite style (1.5%). The third finding shows; the frequent of errors committed were in the appropriateness of locutionary acts and their corresponding tasks. Errors were mostly found in welcoming guest and recording guest identity. The suggestion was given to the teacher of SMK Pariwisata Dwi Tunggal Tabanan to vary the used of five locutionary acts appropriately and properly. keyword : locutionary acts, speech styles, prospective front office students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi Declarative Acts dari siswa Jurusan Bahasa. Declarative Acts adalah salah satu jenis dari Speech Acts yang merubah dunia melalui ujaran dan melalui kata-kata (Yule, 2008), dengan kata lain itu merupakan cara mengekspresikan fakta-fakta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang memiliki 4 tujuan; yaitu mendescripsikan mavcam-macam Declarative Acts yang digunakan oleh siswa, mengidentifikasi gaya bahasa dari Declarative Acts siswa Jurusan Bahasa, mengidentifikasi kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam hal grammar dan diction, dan mengidentifikasi sebab dari kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dala Declarative Acts mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pancingan dan perekam, pedoman wawancara, dan catatan sebagai alat dalam mengumpulkan data. Kumpulan data kemudian ditulis kembali, dianalisis dan dikategorikan, dan kemudian hasilnya dideskripsikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa Jurusan Bahasa lebih sering menggunakan lima kategori Declarative Acts yang lebih dominan adalah to approve, then followed by to disapprove, to name, to call, and the last is to bless. Mereka juga tidak jauh dalam melakukan kesalahan. Mereka lebih sering melakukan kesalahan pada grammar dan diikuti oleh diction. Dari kesalahan-kesalahan siswa, ada lima penyebab kesalahan dalam Declarative Acts siswa; yaitu interlingual errors, ignorance of rule restrictions, incomplete application of rules, false concept hypothesized, and developmental errorsKata Kunci : Speech Acts, Declarative Acts, siswa Jurusan Bahasa This study aimed to identify the Declarative Acts of Language Program students. Declarative Acts are those kinds of speech acts that change the world via their utterance and via words (Yule,2008), in other word it is way in expressing facts. This study is a qualitative study that has 4 purposes; they are to describe the various Declarative Acts used by the students, to identify the style of Language Program students’ Declarative Acts, to identify the errors committed by students in their Declarative Acts in term of grammar and diction, and to identify the source of errors in their Declarative Acts. The subjects of this study are the eleventh grade students of Language Program at SMA Negeri 1 Tejakula. This study used elicitation technique and recorder, interview guide, and field note as the instruments in collecting the data. The data collection then were transcribed, analyzed and categorized, and then the result were described. The result of this study shows the Language Program students mostly produced five categories of Declarative Acts which the most dominant is to approve, then followed by to disapprove, to name, to call, and the last is to bless. The Language Program Students mostly produced Declarative Acts in informal language and followed by formal language. They also were not far from committing the errors. They frequently committed grammatical errors then followed by diction. From the students’ errors, there were five sources that caused errors in their Declarative Acts; they are interlingual errors, ignorance of rule restrictions, incomplete application of rules, false concept hypothesized, and developmental errors.keyword : Speech Acts, Declarative Acts, Language Program students

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Commissive acts, grammatical error, diction error, sources of error This study aimed: 1) to identify the patterns of commisive acts, 2) to identify the speech styles used in terms of formal and informal in expressing commisisve acts, 3) to identify types of error based on grammar and diction and, 4) to analyze the sources of error as committed by the eleventh grade students in a language program class at SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan. This study was a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were the eleventh grade students in a language program of SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan. The instruments were data elicitation, field note, interview guide, and recorder. The methods of data analysis were data transcription, analysis and category. The results of this study showed that the students produced various categories of speech act nsmely to promise, to refuse, to swear, to threaten, to offer, to accept, to thank, to request, to give opinion, to congratulate. The commissive acts produced by the students were to promise with total percentage 73%, to refuse with total percentage 14%, to swear with total percentage 12% and to threaten with total percentage 1,4%. The speech styles used in terms of formality by the students were 62,3% of formal language and 38,3% of informal language. The errors committed by the students were 80.8% of the grammatical errors and 19,1% of the diction errors. There were two types of sources of errors committed by the students namely interlingual with the total percentage 19,7% and intralingual or developmental factors with the total percentage 80,2%. keyword : Commissive acts, grammatical error, diction error, sources of error

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis tindakan direktif yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 41 siswa, terdiri dari 30 perempuan dan 11 laki-laki. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dimana data penelitian diperoleh melalui data yang elisitasi dan rekaman. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian ditranskrip dan diklasifikasikan ke dalam 11 kategori tindak direktif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tindakan direktif yang digunakan oleh siswa berurutan dapat disajikan sebagai berikut: perintah (236), permintaan (227), berdoa (219), untuk saran (196), untuk mengizinkan (49), kemudian diikuti oleh untuk bertanya dan memesan masing-masing (2) dari 931 ujaran. Setiap tindakan direktif muncul diwujudkan dengan menggunakan lebih dari satu pola kalimat yang berbeda, misalnya "(kata modal + S + vt. + N/P + (silakan/tolong)" yang digunakan dalam permintaan. Analisis gaya bahasa pada ujaran siswa menunjukkan bahwa gaya Bahasa (style) yang paling sering digunakan oleh siswa adalah informal, yang digunakan dalam perintah (633 ujaran), sedangkan yang kurang banyak digunakan adalah formal, yang digunakan dalam berdoa (298 ujaran). Kesalahan dalam hal tata bahasa dan diksi yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam tindakan direktif mereka adalah serupa jumlahnya, yang mana masing-masing memiliki 344 kesalahan. Dari 281 kesalahan yang terjadi pada 222 ujaran yang memiliki kesalahan, frekuensi tertinggi disebabkan oleh kesalahan Intralingua (255 kesalahan), sedangkan frekuensi terendah yakni dari kesalahan yang disebabkan oleh Developmental atau pengembangan ( hanya 13 kesalahan).Kata Kunci : deskriptif kualitatif, tindakan direktif, gaya bahasa, analisis kesalahan, sumber kesalahan The aim of this study was to analyze the types of directive acts used by the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Seririt. Each of the directive act appeared was realized by using more than one different sentence patterns, for example “(modals + S + vt. + n/p + (please)” used in to request. The analysis of speech styles showed that the most style frequently used by the students was informal used in to command (633 speeches), meanwhile the less was formal used in to pray (298 speeches). The errors in terms of grammar and diction committed by the students in directing were similar in number, which is 344 errors each. From 281 errors occurred in 222 error speeches, the highest frequency of errors were caused by the Intralingua (225 errors), meanwhile the lowest frequency of errors were caused by the Developmental (13 errors only). keyword : descriptive qualitative, directive acts, speech styles, error analysis, sources of errors

Abstract

This article aims to describe and overview the existence of teaching English in Indonesia. English as a Foreign language gives different impressions from the other status, as L1 or L2. The materials were collected through reading, comprehending a number of references related to teaching, mastering English. The review was descriptively done and the result showed that the success of teaching English depends upon internal and external factors, namely: (1) verbal, numerical and reasoning abilities, (2) motivation, attitude, interest, aptitude, self esteem, perception and memory), (3) curriculum, personal and interpersonal interactions, (4) ability to adverse weakness into strength and constraint into opportunity, (5) spatial and socio-emotional setting, participant, end, act, channel, intention, norm and genre, (6) practice, enthusiasm and learning styles.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan karakteristik pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 oleh siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja dan mengidentifikasi kendala dalam menerapkan pembelajaran aktif siswa kelas X pada pembelajaran menulis di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas dan wawancara. Data dianalisis berdasarkan respon siswa saat pembelajaran sedang berlangsung di kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X dan objek penelitian ini adalah respon siswa. (1) Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada lima karakteristik pembelajaran aktif yang diajukan oleh Bonwell dan Eison (1991) yang diimplementasikan dalam X.MIPA 3 yaitu: siswa dilibatkan dalam lebih dari sekedar mendengarkan pasif, siswa terlibat dalam kegiatan (mis. , membaca, mendiskusikan, berbicara dan menulis), ada penekanan lebih besar pada eksplorasi sikap dan nilai, motivasi siswa meningkat (terutama untuk pelajar dewasa) dan Siswa dilibatkan dalam pemikiran tingkat tinggi (analisis, sintesis, dan evaluasi). (2) Kendala yang ditemukan dalam menerapkan pembelajaran aktif adalah waktu yang terbatas, media yang digunakan oleh guru dan manajemen kelas.Kata Kunci : Kurikulum 2013, pembelajaran aktif, karateristik pembelajaran aktif dan kendala The objectives of this study were analyzing of the implementation of learning characteristics based on Curriculum 2013 by the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja and identifying the constraints in implementing the students’ active learning by the tenth grade students in writing classes at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. This study was descriptive qualitative. The data were collected through doing classroom observation and interview. The data were analyzed based on the students’ responses when the teaching and learning process were running in the classroom. The subjects were the tenth grade students and the objects of this study were students’ responses. (1) The result of this study shows that there were five characteristics of active learning which proposed by Bonwell and Eison (1991) implemented in X.MIPA 3 namely:students are involved in more than passive listening, students are engaged in activities (e.g., reading, discussing, speaking and writing), there is greater emphasis placed on the exploration of attitudes and values, student motivation is increased (especially for adult learners) and Students are involved in higher order thinking (analysis, synthesis, and evaluation). (2) The constraints which were found in implementing students’ active learning were the limited time, the media used by the teacher and classroom management.keyword : Curriculum 2013, active learning, active learning characteristics and constraints

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini difokuskan pada dua masalah. Pertama, perencanaan materi pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 dalam buku siswa dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru. Bahan pembelajaran dianalisis dalam hal jenis tindak tutur utama dan spesifik dan sub jenis serta variasi bahasa. Kedua, pelaksanaan materi pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 seperti yang direncanakan dalam rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru. Bahan pembelajaran dianalisis dalam hal jenis tindak tutur utama dan spesifik dan sub jenis serta variasi bahasa. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran guru, buku siswa kelas VII dan guru bahasa Inggris. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumen, observasi, dan pedoman wawancara. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut: 1) perencanaan materi pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 seperti yang direncanakan dalam buku siswa dan RPP guru, yaitu: a. expressif dengan sub jenisnya menyapa, berterima kasih, meminta maaf. b. asertif dengan sub jenisnya menyatakan, mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan. c. komisif dengan sub jenisnya menawarkan dan d. directif dengan sub jenisnya menanya, meminta, memohon. Semua dari mereka menggunakan pidatonya bahasa baku dan tidak baku. 2) pelaksanaan materi pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 seperti yang direncanakan dalam RPP guru dan implementasinya, yaitu: a. expressif dengan sub jenisnya menyapa, berterima kasih, meminta maaf. b. asertif dengan sub jenisnya menyatakan, mendeskripsikan. c. komisif dengan sub jenisnya menawarkan dan d. direktif dengan sub jenisnya menanya, meminta. keseluruhan menggunakan pidatonya bahasa baku dan tidak baku.Kata Kunci : bahan pembelajaran, tindak tutur, tuturan baku dan tidak baku ABSTRACT The research focused on two problems.
