Abstract

Technology continues to experience developments that are members of the industry damcak for aviation in the world and Indonesia. The standard of ability of the shaving workforce engaged in the aviation industry will of course be disputed because of the scrambling development. To be able to compete in an increasingly stringent world of work, it is not only a theory that is relied upon but also a skill and expertise. One technology that continues to develop is the Baggage Handling System ( BHS ) which has a function to move passenger baggage from one place to another continuously and continuously. Problems found in the Baggage Handling System ( BHS ) domestic chest terminal, the presence of ducting devices damaged by friction and/or collisions with passenger luggage/baggage. The existence of chest damage to the ducting tool is feared in the absence of a high check sensor ( height sensor ) chest BHS Domestic Terminal in the departure area ( departure ). A barrier is planned as a substitute for the domestic terminal breast height check sensor. In the study the distance that was too close between the conveyor and the ducting turned out to cause chest damage to the ducting tool. A short and better thing than making a barrier with its safety components. This study will be discussed thoroughly about the Baggage Handling System along with problems and how to overcome them.

Abstract

Escalator is one of the common vertical transportation tools for the aviation industry in the world and Indonesia. To drive the escalator stairs with high efficiency and reliability, inverters are used as a key component in its drive system, responsible for regulating the motor speed and ensuring efficient operation. This study aims to identify and analyze the problems associated with inverters in escalators and their impact on the performance and reliability of the escalator system as a whole. The method carried out by the quantitative method is by collecting the required data ranging from observation, direct measurement, interviews, and literature studies to airport documents. The results showed that the factor causing inverter damage was a sudden power outage by PLN. When the electricity is on, there is a shock voltage above 420 volts which causes overheating in the inverter. To prevent inverter damage, a remote monitoring tool is needed, namely remote monitoring with IoT (Internet of Things) to overcome overheating problems on escalators. This research will thoroughly discuss the damage to the gate 3 inverter component on the escalator of Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang International Airport along with the problems and how to solve them.

Abstract

Jendral Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang has many scheduled flights, but there are some problems with the Fan Coil Unit. One of them is the wrong temperature when sent to a certain point in the room, which disturbs user comfort. The absence of Air Curtain and Window film in the area causes the temperature in the room to not meet capacity, especially in the check-in area of Jenderal Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang. The results of this study can make the FCU work better and achieve the desired level of temperature accuracy by adding heat-reducing media such as air curtains, film, downlights, roof insulators which can maximize efficiency and channel temperature of the room considering that the Fan Coil Unit is one of the cooling aids which is quite important and always operates at the airport

Abstract

The increasing complexity of air traffic operations and the high cognitive demands placed on Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) underscore the critical need to address factors affecting performance and safety. This study investigates the influence of workload and work-life balance (WLB) on safety outcomes among ATCs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This research is motivated by the growing concern over fatigue-related incidents in aviation, particularly in high-density airspace environments. By synthesizing empirical and theoretical findings from peer-reviewed literature, this study explores how excessive workload, rigid shift structures, and insufficient recovery periods contribute to cognitive fatigue, diminished attentional control, and elevated error rates. In contrast, structured WLB interventions—such as optimized shift rotations, mandatory rest periods, and supportive scheduling policies—are found to mitigate fatigue and enhance operational vigilance. However, the applicability of flexible working hours in ATC settings is constrained by the operational and regulatory frameworks of the aviation industry, particularly the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This study contributes to the discourse on aviation human factors by advocating tailored fatigue risk management strategies and institutional support mechanisms to improve ATC well-being and ensure sustained aviation safety performance

Abstract

Safety culture in aviation training is fundamentally shaped by the interpersonal and instructional behaviors of flight instructors. Instructors not only deliver technical content but also model risk awareness, communication norms, and emotional discipline that shape how student pilots internalize safety values. This literature-based analysis focuses on flight training practices at API Banyuwangi and identifies three core mechanisms that drive safety culture development: instructor competence, leadership style, and institutional reinforcement. Competent instructors who demonstrate reflective pedagogy and consistent behavioral modeling are shown to foster higher levels of psychological safety and long-term risk accountability among trainees. Moreover, institutions that integrate safety objectives across curricula, performance evaluations, and infrastructure further amplify these effects. The synthesis highlights that effective safety education emerges from the convergence of individual instructional capacity and organizational alignment. Embedding safety as a shared ethos rather than a procedural obligation requires intentional design at both the pedagogical and institutional levels.
