Abstract

Abstract

Objectives: The digital transformation in human resource management has led organizations to adopt digital onboarding as a strategy to accelerate new employee adaptation and enhance alignment with organizational values. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital onboarding on organizational value alignment and adaptation speed while examining the mediating role of organizational value alignment in this relationship.Methodology: This study employs Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data collected from new employees at the Ministry of Transportation.Finding: The results indicate that digital onboarding significantly influences organizational value alignment (β = 0.67, p < 0.001) and employee adaptation speed (β = 0.59, p < 0.001). Additionally, organizational value alignment mediates the relationship between digital onboarding and adaptation speed (β = 0.32, p < 0.001), emphasizing the importance of value internalization in the adaptation process. Conclusion: These findings confirm that effective digital onboarding enhances new employee integration and understanding of organizational values. Organizations should design more interactive and experience-based digital onboarding programs to maximize their impact on employee adaptation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Dispatch Resource Management (DRM) on team decision-making, communication and coordination, as well as the operational efficiency of Flight Operations Officers (FOO). Using a quasi-experimental design of the pre-test post-test control group, it was then divided into an experimental and control group of 20 FOOs from Batik Air. Data was collected through structured observations, questionnaires, and performance simulations at Batik Air Cengkareng training facilities. Using paired t-tests and independent t-tests, the results were analyzed. The results showed a significant improvement in all FOO performance variables in the experimental group after DRM training (p < 0.001), while the control group showed no significant change. These findings conclusively demonstrate the effectiveness of DRM in improving the performance of multidimensional FOO and offer a novelty with empirical validation specific to DRM for FOO. This research has important implications for the aviation industry in adopting DRM training to improve safety and operational efficiency.

Abstract

This study originates from the difficulties student pilots encounter when deciding to perform a go-around during unstable strong wind (gusty wind) conditions, especially on the runway at Banyuwangi Airport. The go-around procedure is a vital element in maintaining flight safety, but for inexperienced students, the decision is often challenging and influenced by multiple factors. The purpose of this research is to explore and analyze the aspects that affect student pilots’ considerations when faced with gusty wind situations. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with both student pilots and flight instructors. The findings reveal that several elements play key roles in shaping decision-making, including the level of flight experience, the application of aeronautical decision-making (ADM) principles, situational awareness in rapidly changing conditions, and the psychological pressures experienced during critical phases of flight. These insights emphasize the importance of strengthening pilot training programs, particularly in weather-related decision-making scenarios. By integrating structured ADM training and enhancing awareness of environmental factors, student pilots can be better prepared to respond to challenging conditions. The outcomes of this research are expected to support improvements in aviation education, reduce potential risks, and foster a stronger safety culture among future pilots.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of digital technologies in education has reshaped how human resource (HR) management functions are conducted in academic settings. This study examines the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics in educational HR management, focusing on their impact on teacher performance and student outcomes. As educational institutions adopt technology-driven solutions, AI tools present new opportunities for optimizing HR functions such as recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development. Using a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with educators and HR professionals, this research evaluates the effectiveness of AI-driven HR practices. The findings show that AI tools enhance teacher performance by offering personalized feedback, streamlining administrative tasks, and improving professional development. Quantitative results reveal a positive correlation between AI use in HR management and increased teacher effectiveness, leading to better student engagement and academic achievement. Qualitative insights indicate that HR managers value AI for enhancing efficiency and reducing bias, while teachers appreciate actionable feedback. Despite these benefits, ethical concerns arise around data privacy, teacher autonomy, and over-reliance on technology for performance evaluations. To address these challenges, the study recommends establishing ethical guidelines, investing in AI-related training, and conducting longitudinal studies to understand AI's long-term impacts. This research contributes to the growing literature on AI in education by demonstrating its potential to improve HR processes and educational outcomes. The findings offer valuable insights for educators, HR professionals, and policymakers aiming to leverage AI benefits while maintaining a human-centered approach in educatio

Abstract

This study examines the influence of workplace well-being and employee engagement on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) with work motivation as a mediating variable at the Indonesian Aviation Academy (API) Banyuwangi. The problem stems from a condition where employee extra-role work behavior is not optimal, so efforts are needed to understand psychological factors and engagement that can increase employee voluntary contributions to the institution. The results showed that workplace well-being and employee engagement have a positive and significant effect on work motivation. In addition, work motivation was proven to be able to mediate the influence of workplace well-being and employee engagement on increasing OCB, thereby strengthening the relationship between variables in supporting organizational performance. Overall, this study concludes that workplace well-being and employee engagement are important factors in driving motivation and extra-role work behavior. These findings have practical implications, necessitating HR policies that focus on creating a healthy, inclusive, and motivating work environment to strengthen a positive work culture. Furthermore, this study also provides theoretical contributions, enriching our understanding of the role of work motivation as a connecting mechanism in the context of aviation vocational education.
