Abstract

Schools are strategic environments for instilling clean and healthy living habits (PHBS) in elementary school children, which significantly influence their physical, mental, and social development. This study aims to enhance the awareness and understanding of 5th-grade students at SDN 1 Jetis Bondowoso regarding the importance of personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and recycling skills as part of a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle. The method used is a social project research with a descriptive qualitative approach, involving interactive educational activities such as health material delivery, recycling skill practice, and physical activities conducted over three sessions. The results show an increase in students' knowledge and awareness of PHBS as well as practical abilities in waste management through recycling. These activities not only foster healthy living habits but also build students' environmental care and independence. This program is expected to serve as a sustainable health promotion education model in elementary schools.

Abstract

This social and educational activity aims to foster empathy among university students through the application of handicraft skills, specifically the making of beaded bracelets, at Yarhima 4 Orphanage. Through this activity, students not only teach the technique of making beaded bracelets but also build communication, compassion, and a sense of sharing with others. The program is designed to create an enjoyable and interactive atmosphere while providing added value in the form of skills that can be developed by the children at the orphanage as potential entrepreneurial assets. The results of the activity showed increased enthusiasm, creativity, and participation from the children in the learning process, as well as the formation of positive emotional bonds between the students and the orphanage residents. Furthermore, this social activity serves as a means of applying the values of Pancasila in daily life, particularly the second principle, A Just and Civilized Humanity. This value is reflected in the students’ attitudes of empathy, care, and loving treatment toward the children of Yarhima 4 Orphanage. Overall, the results show that the values of Pancasila can effectively foster empathy and compassion for others.

Abstract

This social project aims to help children at the Yarhima 2 Bondowoso Orphanage develop entrepreneurial skills through the social project of making bucket snack handicrafts. This activity is designed as a first step to provide them with practical skills that can support their future economic independence. The background of this project is based on the fact that labor conditions in Indonesia still face various challenges. Increasingly fierce job competition, a mismatch between the skills of job seekers and the needs of the labor market, and the limited availability of formal employment are the main factors that make it difficult for many individuals. Snack buckets have gained traction since early 2010, both as a unique gift and a promising business opportunity. Therefore, through the social project of making bucket snacks, it is hoped that the children of the Yarhima 2 Bondowoso Orphanage will gain the skills to make handicraft products in the form of bucket snacks and develop the motivation for them to be able to create business opportunities independently as an alternative solution to limited access to formal employment in the future.

Abstract

This social project aims to instill a sense of love for the environment from an early age in Elementary School 02 Jetis, Bondowoso Regency. This project uses a qualitative approach and descriptive material presentation. This project was implemented at SDN Jetis 2, Bondowoso Regency with the research subjects being students in grades 4 and 5. Data collected through quiz methods, material presentation, filling out questionnaires, and direct practice with students. Data analysis was carried out through 3 stages, namely data collection, data analysis and conclusions by the implementing team applying a simple approach, starting from joint introductions, storytelling, presenting materials, showing videos about the negative impacts of waste and waste processing, practicing making crafts and compost from organic waste. Activities have a positive impact on students, especially grades 4 and 5, referring to the results of the posttest... social projects that have an impact on enriching environmental insight can be used as an example for further social projects.

Abstract

Tanaman pangan di Indonesia sangat beragam termasuk diantaranya padi, jagung dan ubi kayu. Namun lahan pertanian di Indonesia semakin sempit seiring dengan laju pertumbuhan penduduk yang semakin tinggi. Lahan kering (sub optimal) di Indonesia masih banyak yang belum dimanfaatkan, yang sebenarnya bisa dioptimalkan sebagai lahan pertanian. Tanaman pangan yang memiliki tingkat ketahanan lebih tinggi terhadap lahan kering adalah tanaman ubi kayu, sehingga berpotensi untuk ditanam pada lahan kering. Tahap pertama pemuliaan tanaman ubi kayu adalah mengetahui karakterisasi gen pada tanaman tersebut salah satunya yaitu WIN1. Metode pertama yang dilakukan adalah isolasi DNA daun ubi kayu varietas Adira 1 dan Malang 6, kemudian amplifikasi dengan PCR, dan analisis sekuensing. Hasil menunjukkan tanaman ubi kayu Adira 1 memiliki asam amino yang sama dengan kultivar am560-2 yang terdapat pada GenBank, sedangkan pada varietas Malang 6 terdapat satu asam amino yang berbeda. Hal tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh adanya mutasi gen pada varietas ubi kayu serta perbedaan kandungan HCN pada ubi kayu pangan varietas Adira 1, dan ubi kayu industri varietas Malang 6.

Abstract

Pancasila is the basis of the State which teaches us to respect each other and respect the differences and diversity that exist in Indonesia, not only that, Pancasila also instills a high spirit of democracy and national defense, so it is not surprising that Pancasila is one of the sciences that has been taught from an early age, one of them is in elementary school, however, the existence of social classes also has an impact on the unequal quality of education so that not every young generation gets proper Pancasila education, so this social project aims to help the young generation who have not received or are lacking education. Good Pancasila students can get proper Pancasila education, and the elementary school focused on is Suci 03 Elementary School (SDN SUCI 03).

Abstract

Children of primary school age play an important role in future development, therefore the health of primary school children needs to be maintained and cared for properly. Nutrition and dental health problems in children are important issues that require serious attention, especially because of their impact on the physical growth and mental development of children later. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said that data from the prevalence of stunting touched 21.5% in 2023, and according to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), 82.8% of Indonesians have dental caries. Children aged 6-12 years have a high risk of developing dental caries, reaching 78.3% ~ 84.8%. This shows the need for educational intervention in the community from an early age. The focus of this service program is to provide education related to balanced nutrition and dental health to increase the knowledge and awareness of students at SDN Wonosuko 2, Bondowoso Regency.

Abstract

Education is a learning that aims to enable each individual to develop their potential. For the ideal age, nutrition education should be provided to children when they reach the age of 6 to 14 years. This research is motivated by the lack of student knowledge about nutrition. Teachers only provide the material that is taught but the application is limited. The solution to this problem is to provide additional material for students at SD Negeri Mengok 2 and how to implement it properly and correctly. The purpose of this study is to find out the development that has been undergone by students when we provide nutrition education. This research uses conventional methods by involving lectures, practice, and technical assistance to students. The instruments used are in the form of student activity observation sheets and using tests. The data analysis technique used is quantitative. The results of the study showed an increase in students' response and understanding of the education we provided.

Abstract

The right age for children to be given education about health is 6 -14 years old because at this age children can receive information and understand the information provided quite well (1). This activity aims to increase elementary school students' awareness of clean living by providing PHBS education and growing awareness in consuming balanced nutrition food by providing education about isi piringku. This activity was carried out at SDN Selolembu, Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency. The method of this activity is presentation, practice, and games related to the material provided. This social project has succeeded in increasing the insight of Selolembu Elementary School students regarding food that has balanced nutrition and the application of PHBS in daily life.

Abstract

Buah okra kaya akan manfaat yang berguna memenuhi nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh. Melatonin merupakan biomolekul pleiotropik alami yang ditemukan secara luas pada tumbuhan maupun hewan untuk meningkatkan hasil, pembungaan, pembentukan dan perkembangan buah, partenokarpi, dan ripening. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui respon melatonin eksogen terhadap performa dan perkembangan organ generatif tanaman okra. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2021-Februari 2022 di lahan okra PT. Gading Mas Indonesia Teguh, Ajung, Jember, Indonesia. Pemberian melatonin dilakukan secara eksogen dengan menyemprotkan ke semua bagian tanaman okra yang sudah masuk fase generatif. Percobaan dilakukan dengan satu faktor konsentrasi melatonin dengan empat taraf yaitu 0 µM, 200 µM, 350 µM, dan 500 µM. Kombinasi perlakuan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak lima kali sehingga didapatkan 20 satuan percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan melatonin berpengaruh terhadap performa dan kualitas tanaman okra. Konsentrasi 350 µM menghasilkan rata-rata jumlah daun tertinggi 14.8 daun. Konsentrasi 500 µM menghasilkan waktu gugur kelopak paling lama dengan rata-rata 4.8 hari dan persentase keberhasilan pembentukan buah sebesar 100 %. Variabel jumlah biji paling tinggi pada perlakuan kontrol dengan rata-rata 57.2 biji dan pematangan buah atau ripening paling lama pada konsentrasi 500 µM dengan rata-rata 33.6 hari. Melatonin tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang buah dan diameter buah okra. Kata kunci: hormon, partenokarpi, ripening, sayuran
