Abstract

Hydroponics can be an alternative program for elementary or early childhood education as a form of effort to instill an entrepreneurial spirit in agriculture. In addition to raising the theme of hydroponics in community service, we display Go Green material, namely the use and management of plastic waste as a support in Hydroponics activities. Many benefits of the Hydroponics program and the utilization of plastic waste in schools are as follows. Introducing this hydroponic planting system as a new knowledge for students, increasing students' knowledge and insight about the use of plastic waste, and instilling the spirit of farming from an early age. The indicators of the achievement of community service activities are the active participation of SD Pejagan students during the activity and the last achievement is that students practice at their respective homes.

Abstract

This research was initiated due to students facing challenges in demonstrating environmental care and showing a lack of interest in the learning process. The issue stemmed from teachers delivering material solely through textbooks, focusing only on theoretical aspects, and dominating the learning environment. To address this concern, the proposed solution involves incorporating practical applications of the material in a phased manner. The objective of this study is to assess the enhancement of both teacher and student engagement, the learning outcomes derived from the direct application of material, and student attitudes toward caring for the school environment and the community. Employing the classroom action research method, the study is structured in two cycles, with observation sheets for student activities and tests serving as the primary instruments. The data analysis combines descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative approaches. The findings indicate noticeable improvements in learning outcomes, student activities, and student responses with each successive cycle.

Abstract

Nutritional status is a determinant of the health of an individual or group as well as the wider community. In Indonesia, the problem of nutrition is still very high. This occurs due to a lack of interest in exploring information about healthy living and balanced nutrition, so meeting daily nutritional needs is not optimal. With this problem, we conducted community service using the counseling method for housewives, which is one of the efforts we can make to provide insight into the importance of healthy living and family nutrition in a good and correct way. The counseling was conducted for 5 days by carrying 5 materials in this counseling, namely toga plants, contents of my plate, 10 guidelines for balanced nutrition, stunting, and sanitation. Then, on the last day, we also evaluated by reviewing the material to find out whether the housewives in Jetis understood the material that had been delivered. From this counseling, we concluded that 85% of housewives in Jetis Village understand what we conveyed, and we hope they can apply it in their daily lives.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental component in the development of a nation, particularly for a developing country like Indonesia, which requires a generation of high-quality successors. To support this need, the government has implemented a 12-year compulsory education policy, covering education from Elementary School (SD) to Senior High School (SMA). Elementary School serves as the foundational stage for students' learning. However, academic education alone is insufficient to create a quality generation; character education also plays a key role in shaping individual attitudes. As moral values are increasingly eroded by modern developments, character education becomes even more essential. This study was conducted on 6th-grade students at SDN Ambulu 3, employing an approach that emphasizes the importance of appreciating parents. This approach aims to enhance students' awareness of their parents' roles in their lives and their responsibilities as learners. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method, with letter writing as the research instrument. The results indicate that character education with a focus on appreciating parents is effective in boosting students' enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

Introducing Pancasila from an early age is crucial to fostering a sense of love for the homeland, starting with education at the primary school level. This socialization activity was conducted by university students at SDN Suci 5, located in Desa Suci, Kecamatan Panti, Kabupaten Jember, due to many students lacking an understanding of the importance of learning Pancasila. The goal of this socialization is to help students internalize and apply the values of Pancasila in their daily lives, considering that Pancasila is the foundation of Indonesia, a multicultural nation characterized by diverse ethnicities, races, religions, and cultures. This diversity is reflected in Pancasila's motto, "Bhineka Tunggal Ika," which means "Unity in Diversity." As the nation's foundation, Pancasila should guide the behavior of every citizen. Instilling Pancasila values from an early age is expected to strengthen Indonesia's resilience in facing various challenges. Therefore, implementing Pancasila in daily life is essential to showcase a dignified and culturally rich national identity
