Abstract

This study aims to analyze the participation of first-time voters in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Karang Tapen Village, Cakranegara District, Mataram City. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with the subjects being members of the Voting Committee (PPS) and first-time voters who participated in the polling station. The findings indicate that the participation rate of first-time voters in the 2024 Pilkada is quite significant, with nearly half of the voters in the 2005-2007 age group present at the polling stations. Factors supporting the participation of first-time voters include the support from family, friends, and social environment, as well as the motivation and awareness of voters regarding the importance of their voting rights. On the other hand, the hindering factors found include low levels of political education and understanding of voting rights, as well as limited knowledge of the candidates. These findings provide valuable insights to increase first-time voter participation in the future and suggest the need for enhanced political socialization and voter education to strengthen local democracy in Karang Tapen Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by Bawaslu Kota Mataram in preventing election violations in 2024 and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in oversight execution. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that the implemented strategy comprises three main stages: preparation, socialization, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, Bawaslu conducted training for election supervisors, developed SOPs, and coordinated with stakeholders. Socialization was carried out through public discussions, social media, and collaboration with educational institutions. The evaluation stage included direct supervision, the use of online reporting technology, and regular evaluation meetings. Supporting factors include community leader support and technology utilization, while challenges involve limited budgets, digital literacy issues, and geographical constraints. A comprehensive and inclusive strategy is required to enhance the effectiveness of election oversight in Kota Mataram.

Abstract

Korupsi merupakan salah satu hambatan utama dalam pembangunan nasional, sehingga penting untuk memberikan pemahaman sejak dini kepada generasi muda. Menanamkan nilai-nilai integritas di kalangan pelajar untuk menciptakan generasi yang jujur, beretika, dan bertanggung jawab. Dalam masyarakat yang multikultural, toleransi diperlukan untuk menjaga persatuan dan stabilitas, yang mendukung pembangunan bangsa. Sosialisasi ini menjadi bagian dari usaha mewujudkan visi nasional dengan melibatkan berbagai elemen masyarakat, termasuk lembaga pendidikan. Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa dan guru tentang bahaya korupsi dan pentingnya integritas; Menanamkan nilai-nilai toleransi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk mencegah konflik sosial; Menguatkan sinergitas antara lembaga pendidikan, masyarakat, dan pemerintah dalam memerangi praktik korupsi; Mendorong siswa menjadi agen perubahan yang mendukung terciptanya Indonesia maju dan bebas korupsi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode Ceramah interaktif: Pemaparan materi oleh narasumber tentang integritas, toleransi, dan dampak negatif korupsi. Luaran wajib dalam penelitian ini akan diterbitkan pada Journal Pengabdian Magister Pendidikan IPA Universitas Mataram dan luran tambahan dalam pengabdian ini berupa pernyataan pemanfaatan hasil riset oleh mitra atau masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Scramble learning model assisted by ProProfs Brain Game media on students’ learning outcomes in Civic Education (PPKn). The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes, namely an experimental group and a control group, each comprising 25 seventh-grade students at SMPN 11 Mataram. Data were collected through observations and learning outcome tests administered during the pretest and posttest phases, and subsequently analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to control for students’ initial abilities. The results indicated that the implementation of the Scramble learning model supported by ProProfs Brain Game had a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes. The experimental group demonstrated a higher increase in learning outcomes compared to the control group, with an N-Gain improvement of 54%. This learning model was able to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment, while also enhancing students’ active engagement in the learning process. Therefore, the Scramble model assisted by ProProfs Brain Game can be considered an effective and innovative instructional strategy for improving Civic Education learning outcomes at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Nationalism is an attitude or spirit that every Indonesian citizen must have in loving his homeland. The purpose of this study is to determine the strategy of fostering student nationalism attitudes at SMPN 3 Pringgabaya as well as supporting and inhibiting factors of school efforts in fostering student nationalism attitudes. This approach uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection techniques use observation, interview and documentation techniques that are processed and analyzed by condensing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions to answer the problems that have been formulated. Based on the results of the study, the form of school efforts in fostering student nationalism attitudes is carried out through two channels, namely intracurricular and extracurricular activities. So based on the findings of SMPN 3 Pringgabaya made optimal efforts in instilling nationalism attitudes of students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out the efforts and challenges that Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers have gone through in class X of MAN 1 Sumbawa in an effort to improve student learning outcomes. This type of qualitative descriptive research uses observation and interview methods, which were conducted from July to August 2023. The results of the research explain that the efforts made by the teacher to improve student learning outcomes are carried out in the process of lesson planning, implementation of learning and evaluation by explaining the objectives of learning material according to RPP, Creating a conducive and pleasant learning atmosphere, Providing rewards and sanctions, Providing assessments to students, commenting on student work and creating positive competition and cooperation so that students compete to get good grades and results in Civics lessons. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced by the teacher were the lack of students' interest in civics lessons, the class atmosphere was not conducive, students considered learning difficult, the influence of peers and the lack of parental control.

Abstract

The success of an organization in achieving its vision, mission and goals is largely determined by the quality of its leaders, because leaders have a strategic position in every activity in the organization. And school is one of the organizations that has a vision, mission and goals led by a principal. Thus, the principal as a policy maker is required to provide quality education for students. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the principal's leadership strategy and impact in realizing quality education to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at SMAN 4 Mataram. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The results of this study indicate that the principal's leadership strategy in realizing quality education at SMAN 4 Mataram is carried out through a democratic leadership model supported by various school flagship programs (Child Friendly School, Zero Waste, Literacy and Numeracy). The supporting factors of the principal's leadership are facilities and infrastructure, external partnerships as well as training and development of teaching staff, while the inhibiting factors of the principal's leadership are budget limitations and lack of student participation. Based on the education report card, the principal's leadership at SMAN 4 Mataram has a positive impact in various achievements such as the improvement of literacy and numeracy skills, the safety climate of the education unit to the quality of education.

Abstract

Inquiry learning is a learning approach that emphasizes the process of inquiry, discovery, and problem solving. In inquiry learning, students are encouraged to question, investigate, and discover their own knowledge through active exploration and reflection on their learning experiences. The use of inquiry learning to increase student activeness in PPKn subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Mataram. Using a pseudo-experimental research design, the results showed a significant increase in student learning activity after the application of the inquiry learning model. Analysis of the data showed that posttest scores were statistically higher than pretest scores, with passing percentages increasing. This confirms that the inquiry learning method is effective in increasing student learning activity in PPKn. So based on inquiry learning makes an important contribution in the development of more effective learning methods to improve student learning outcomes in the context of PPKn learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) subject through the implementation of the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model assisted by the Quizizz application. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which was implemented in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 21 Mataram. The research subjects were 31 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by calculating individual learning completeness, average learning outcomes, and classical completeness. The study was conducted in three cycles, each of which included the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results showed an increase in each cycle. In cycle I, the implementation of learning indicators reached 13 indicators (76%), with student learning completeness of 13 students (42%) and an average learning outcome of 70. In cycle II, the implementation of learning indicators increased by 16 or (94%), learning completeness reached 19 students (61%), and the average learning outcome increased to 76. In cycle III, the implementation of learning reached 100%, learning completeness increased by 28 students (90%), and the average learning outcome reached 84. These results indicate that the implementation of the Snowball Throwing cooperative learning model assisted by Quizizz is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Civics (PPKn) class VIII A SMP Negeri 21 Mataram.
