Abstract

Indonesia's biomass energy potential is estimated at around 49,810 MW and is very adequate for the development go renewable energy. An example of a biomass conversion technique is pyrolysis which converts biomass into bio-oil. The optimum temperature for the pyrolysis process is 300-600 0C. Parameters that affect the pyrolysis process such as pretreatment of the material, moisture content and particle size of the material, the composition of biomass compounds, the effect of temperature, heating rate, gas flow rate, type of pyrolysis, and pyrolysis reactor. This is a thermochemical technique in which biomass waste is converted into solid fuel (char), producer gas (syngas), and liquid (bio-oil) without oxygen in a reactor. This article contains a comprehensive review of biomass conversion techniques to bio-oil using the solar energy-based fast pyrolysis method. Furthermore, the exposure used was based on the publication source, year, origin country, research methodology, and focus area. Most research has been empirical and mainly focused on fast pyrolysis and its influencing factors. There are several studies, information, and research recommendations described in this article.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide skills and abilities related to establishment permits, preparation of Financial Reports, and digital marketing of Garuri Micro Small And Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Garuri (Gaharu of the Republic of Indonesia is a business unit engaged in herbal tea business made from gaharu Garuri is included in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises group, where MSMEs have the following problems: 1) Having a makeshift business place; 2) Unable to access funding in financial institutions; 3) Low entrepreneurial ability; 4) Low business management ability; 5) The level of general education is relatively low; 6) Lack of access to markets; 7) Access to licensing is low 8) Access to technology and information is low. Solving the problems of SMEs above is carried out in stages. The legality of a business license is one of the essential things for business actors. In addition, it is necessary to improve financial management and digital marketing ability. For that, it is necessary: (1). assistance is provided in manufacturing Business Identification Numbers for SMEs instead of SIUP for PT, and (2) financial management and digital marketing training. The methods used by the Universitas of Andalas and Assistance Team for Garuri SMEs are (1) Socialization of online and offline mentoring activities and FGDs; (2) Presentation, (3) Assistance in Data Input, and (4) Monitoring and Evaluation. Assistance in obtaining business permits (NIB) for Garuri SMEs and training in financial management and digital marketing. The results of activities are (1). MSME Garuri already has a business license, (2) assistance to MSMEs has been carried out to improve administration and financial management by filling out a business financial recording application issued by Bank Indonesia under the name SIAPIK; 3. MSME Garuri has created an account to market its products on social media.

Abstract

          Kualitas buah sangat berpengaruh pada tingkat daya tarik konsumen, salah satunya pada bentuk buah. Umumnya proses pengelompokan mutu buah menggunakan pengamatan secara visual. Cara ini kurang efisien dan membutuhkan waktu lama. Metode untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan analisis citra digital, yang merupakan ruang lingkup suatu sistem mengenai teknik mengolah dan menganalisa citra atau gambar dengan meggunakan komputer. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi bentuk fisik dari buah alpukat yang normal dan kurang normal dengan analisis citra digital. Pengelompokkannya sesuai dengan standar mutu I dan II buah alpukat, yaitu normal dan kurang normal. Agar terlihat perbedaannya dilakukan menggunakan beberapa parameter bentuk meliputi roundness, sphericity, dan nilai K. Perhitungan tiga parameter ini dilakukan dalam dua kondisi yaitu perhitungan manual dan analisis citra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan roundness manual normal diperoleh nilai 0,850 sampai 0,893 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 0,851 sampai 0,905. Roundness citra normal diperoleh nilai 0,856 sampai 0,895 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 0,856 sampai 0,897. Sphericity manual normal diperoleh nilai 0,810 sampai 0,941 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 0,807 sampai 0,953. Sphericity citra normal diperoleh nilai 0,826 sampai 0,945 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 0,837 sampai 0,972. Nilai K manual normal diperoleh nilai 1,616 sampai 2,485 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 1,843 sampai 2,394. Sedangkan nilai K citra normal diperoleh nilai 0,925 sampai 0,948 dan kurang normal diperoleh nilai 0,923 sampai 0,951. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa bentuk normal dan kurang normal bisa dibedakan dengan analisis citra melalui bentuk roundness. Namun tidak bisa dibedakan dengan bentuk sphericity dan nilai K.          Fruit quality greatly affects the level of consumer attractiveness. One of them is the shape of the fruit. Generally, the grouping of fruit quality uses visual observation. This method is less efficient and takes a long time. To overcome this problem is the method of digital image analys, which is the scope of a system regarding techniques for analys and analyzing images or images using a computer. The purpose of this study is to find the physical form of normal and abnormal avocados with digital image analys. Grouping according to normal and less normal quality standards. In order to see the difference, several shape parameters were used are roundness, sphericity, and K value. The calculation of these three parameters was carried out in two conditions, manual calculation and image analys. The results showed that the manual for normal roundness obtained values ​​from 0.850 to 0.893 and less normal values ​​obtained from 0.851 to 0.905. Normal image roundness values ​​obtained from 0.856 to 0.895 and less normal values ​​obtained from 0.856 to 0.897. Normal manual sphericity values ​​obtained from 0.810 to 0.941 and less normal values ​​obtained from 0.807 to 0.953. Normal image sphericity values ​​obtained from 0.826 to 0.945 and less normal values ​​obtained from 0.837 to 0.972. Normal manual K values ​​were obtained from 1,616 to 2,485 and less normal values ​​obtained from 1,843 to 2,394. While the value of K for normal images is obtained from 0.925 to 0.948 and less normal values ​​are obtained from 0.923 to 0.951. Based on the results of Keyword research that normal and less normal shapes can be distinguished by image analys through round shapes. However, it cannot be distinguished by the shape of the sphericity and the value of K

Abstract

The molding process using coconut shells created unstandardized brown sugar in terms of shape and size, less competitive, limited market by Koperasi Serba Usaha Ekonomi Desa (KSU ED) Tabek. This activity aimed to motivate KSU-ED Tabek to produce brown sugar, which has a different and attractive appearance. The activity was carried out in the form of lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, starting from providing the molding equipment, introducing several innovations of brown sugar shape and size, product innovation by adding spices, and demonstration of packaging of brown sugar for members of KSU-ED Tabek. During the activity, members of KSU-ED Tabek showed a positive response which was shown by their enthusiasm in discussing various innovations in mold shapes and sizes, product flavor innovations, and brown sugar packaging. This community service activity has could increase the innovative and creative spirit of KSU-ED Tabek members in developing brown sugar businesses.

Abstract

Buah pisang dikatakan baik ketika buah pisang mengalami pemasakan di pohon, namun sangat sulit mendapatkan karakteristik mutu buah pisang yang baik di pasar karena kebanyakan petani yang menjual buah pisang tidak bisa menunggu buah pisang tersebut mengalami proses pematangan di pohon sebab buah pisang dapat mengalami pembusukan sebelum dipasarkan. Salah satu cara untuk menghindari hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan cara pemeraman. Bahan pemeraman yang digunakan untuk buah pisang Jantan yaitu ethepon dan daun gamal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik mutu buah pisang Jantan menggunakan bahan ethepon dan daun gamal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap 1 Faktor yaitu jenis bahan pemeraman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan pemberian ethepon dan daun gamal memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kekerasan, total padatan terlarut, vitamin C, analisis warna (hue), dan uji organoleptik. Konsentrasi daun gamal 20% merupakan perlakuan terbaik terhadap perubahan mutu pisang Jantan. Nilai pengamatan yang diperoleh pada perlakuan terbaik yaitu susut bobot sebesar 5,199 %, total padatan terlarut 26,60 Brix, organoleptik tekstur 3,07 (lunak) dan organoleptik rasa 3,56 (manis).Kata Kunci: Pisang Jantan, Karakteristik Mutu Buah, Ethepon, Daun Gamal

Abstract

Sapodilla fruit is one of the tropical fruits that are widely cultivated in Indonesia, especially West Sumatra. During post-harvest, especially during the grading process, sapodilla fruit will be dropped into the basket at a certain height so that it has the potential to cause mechanical damage that is not visible at the beginning of the drop. This study aims to evaluate the potential use of e-nose technology to detect mechanical damage to sapodilla fruit non-destructively at the beginning of dropping during the grading process. The method used is an experimental method by looking at changes in the VOCs content of sapodilla fruit through mics 5524 sensor readings. The results showed that e-nose technology was able to detect mechanical damage to sapodilla fruit at the beginning of dropping with a sig value of < 1% in ANOVA analysis, meaning that there was an influence of height at the beginning of dropping on changes in the VOCs content of sapodilla fruit. The results of grouping using k-means clusters show that the height of the fall of 0 cm and 20 cm is included in the category of undamaged sapodilla fruit and is in cluster 1, while the height of the fall of 40 cm is included in the category of damaged sapodilla fruit and is in cluster 2.

Abstract

Permintaan produk gula tebu yang berfluktuasi dan hanya tinggi ketika bulan tertentu saja, mendorong perlunya diversifikasi produk untuk meningkatkan pendapatan anggota KSU-ED Tabek. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pelaksana kegiatan PKM adalah menyediakan teknologi pengolahan gula semut yang menggunakan mesin kristalisator, mesin pengering, dan mesin penepung. Kegiatan introduksi dilaksanakan dalam bentuk ceramah dan demonstrasi tentang cara kerja dan perawatan mesin-mesin pengolahan gula semut, proses pembuatan gula semut, teknologi pengemasan dan diskusi. Selama pelaksanaan kegiatan introduksi, anggota KSU-ED Tabek memperlihatkan partisipasi yang aktif. Mitra juga menyediakan sarana dan prasarana dalam transfer ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan keterampilan. Untuk meningkatkan tampilan produk gula semut yang diproduksi oleh anggota KSU-ED Tabek, maka tim PKM juga memberikan pengetahuan dan praktek mengenai pengemasan dan pelabelan pada produk. Kegiatan introduksi berjalan dengan baik dan lancar, sehingga mitra mempunyai kemampuan dalam menggunakan teknologi untuk memproduksi gula semut dengan berbagai rasa dan aroma serta kemasan yang menarik bagi konsumen. Therefore, it is necessary to diversify the products to increase revenue. The team of PKM offers a solution by providing cane sugar processing technology using a crystallizer, drying machine, and disk mill. The introduction activity was carried out in the form of lectures and demonstrations on how to process and maintain granulated cane sugar processing machines and the process of making granulated cane sugar, packaging technology, which was followed by a discussion. During the introduction activities, members of KSU-ED Tabek showed active participation. They also provide facilities and infrastructure for transferring knowledge, technology, and skills. To improve the appearance of granulated cane sugar products, the PKM team also includes knowledge and practice regarding packaging and labeling the products. The KSU-ED Tabek members could use technology to produce granulated cane sugar with various flavors and aromas and attractive packaging for consumers. Abstract

Agriculture’s waste is still minimum to utilized the one is empty fruit bunches (EFB), as like happened in the PT.XYZ (Xxx Yyy Zzz). EFB usually left rot into compost naturally which is need decomposition period 6 – 12months. This research aims to design chopper of EFB and carry out a technical examination of the toolperformance. Testing performed by using 5 kgs EFB at three repetition with the average of water content andfat content respectively 32.06 % and 7.46 %. The average of effective work capacity 81.46 kg/hr, chopped 43.33%, percentage do not chop 54.00 %, percentage of yield loss 2.67 %, measure the thickness of the chopping 0.5– 1 cm, 1 – 5 cm, 5 – 10 cm, and >10 cm consecutively was 64.53 %, 15.40 %, 9.21 %, and 10.85 %, therotational frequency 1,121 rpm, and noise level of chopper between 91.17 to 94.40 dB. Chopping use thischopper of EFB was 13 times more efficient than manual chopping and this research is still valid whencompared to the 2018 study.

Abstract

Produk turunan kelapa sawit yang harus dijaga selain CPO (crude palm oil) ialah KPO (kernel palm oil). Minyak kernel (KPO) yang baik tergantung dari hasil pengolahan biji sawit pada stasiun pengolahan biji, tepatnya pada stasiun pemecah biji oleh mesin nutcracker. Penelitian ini telah mengkaji kinerja 4 mesin nutcracker pada pabrik kelapa sawit PTPN VWXYZ sebanyak 3 ulangan per mesin nutcracker (200 g bahan untuk tiap ulangan) dengan tiga perlakuan kadar air (berdasarkan waktu pengambilan data di hari yang sama). Beberapa parameter yang dihitung adalah nilai persentase nilai biji utuh, biji pecah tidak sempurna, kernel pecah, dan efisiensi mesin nutcracker. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji tingkat efisiensi dari mesin nutcracker, sehingga akan dihasilkan kernel dengan kualitas yang baik dan apabila terjadi ketidak sesuaian dengan standar pabrik maka akan dapat dilakukan segera maintenance. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh nilai efisiensi mesin nutcracker sebesar 94% dan nilai kernel pecah pada rentang nilai 0.117-0.593%. Nilai kernel pecah sebagai inti dari pengolahan pada stasiun pengolahan biji di PTPN VWXYZ masih sesuai dengan parameter SNI 01-0002-1987 (maksimal 15%) dan standar pabrik (maksimal 12%). Artinya mesin yang bekerja pada saat pengamatan masih layak untuk beroperasi. Selanjutnya, tetap perlu dilakukan routine maintenance untuk menjaga kualitas pemecahan biji oleh nutcracker agar senantiasa sesuai dengan standar dan menjaga efisiensi kerja mesin tetap di atas 90%.

Abstract

 Hidroponik merupakan teknik budidaya di bidang pertanian yang sesuai dengan keadaan saat ini, terutama di Indonesia dimana lahan pertanian semakin menyusut akibat ekspansi industri. Teknik budidaya ini menggunakan air sebagai media tanam dan efektif pada lahan terbatas. Meskipun hidroponik meminimalkan perawatan yang dibutuhkan tanaman, pemantauan rutin terhadap larutan nutrisi tetap penting. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan sistem pemantauan dan pengendalian larutan nutrisi hidroponik DFT berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) pada kangkung. Sistem kendali yang digunakan adalah sensor pH sebagai pendeteksi nilai pH larutan, Arduino Uno sebagai mikrokontroler, modul ESP 8266 sebagai modul wifi, dan aplikasi Blynk sebagai platform IoT dan kontrol PID. Hasil kalibrasi sensor pH dengan membandingkan nilai sensor pH dengan pH meter pada larutan buffer memberikan nilai R 2 sebesar 0,9997, sedangkan nilai sensor pH selama 18 hari memberikan nilai R 2 sebesar 0,9908 dengan hasil error sebesar 0,274%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sensor pH bekerja dengan baik dan akurat. Pengontrol PID sistem ini adalah Kp=2. 1; Ki = 0,05; dan Kd = 0,03. Pemeriksaan kondisi pabrik di 60 tanaman (30 kangkung dengan sistem kendali dan 30 kangkung tanpa sistem kendali). Pengamatan pada 18 hari setelah tanam (HSS) menunjukkan bahwa kubis dengan sistem kontrol memiliki tinggi batang 40,50 cm dan 18 helai daun serta hasil 1,064 kg, sedangkan kangkung tanpa sistem kontrol memiliki tinggi batang 35,66 cm dan 16 helai daun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sistem pengendalian yang diterapkan pada tanaman kangkung hidroponik memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman kangkung dibandingkan dengan tanaman kontrol.
