Abstract

This study aimed to extend previous investigation regarding its beneficial effects on changes of blood glucose. This experimental research was conducted from 06:00-12:00. Twenty-four young men (age 19-20 y.o.) were divided into three groups, Fasting-Exercise-Only (FEO), Fasting-Exercise-Water (FEW), and Fasting-Exercise with Fruit-Infused Water (FEF). Subjects underwent fasting for 12 h before the experimental day. The data of body weight (Kg) and macroscopic urine color were collected before and after exercise. Body weight in all experimental groups were decreased by 1% during endurance exercise. There were no differences in decrease of body weight between FEF and FEW groups compared to FEO group (p>.05). The change in urine color was significantly different between pre-exercise and post-exercise data (p<.05). The darkest urine color was observed in FEO group (4.75), followed by FEW group (4.25), while FEF group (3.63) did not reach dehydration level. In conclusion, fruit-infused water is suggested to be drink as a choice for fluid intake during exercise.

It is a descriptive quantitative study, aims to investigate nutritional also cardiovascular health status among housewives in Tegal Regency, Central Java. Twenty adult women (33-57 years old) were voluntary and randomly signed up. Data on body weight (kg), height (cm), waist circumference (cm), hip circumference (cm), systolic-diastolic blood pressure (mm/hg) were collected by survey and measurement techniques. IBM SPSS 21 used to perform descriptive quantitative analysis for all data. Body mass index: 35% obese, 45% pre-obese, 5% overweight, 15% ideal weight. Waist circumference: 35% low category, 65% high category. Waist-to-hip ratio: 60% at risk of chronic diseases, 35% moderate, 5% good. Meanwhile, hypertension has found as the current cardiovascular health status, followed by elevated blood pressure. Abstract

Modified Physical Exercise Program (MPEP) is necessary for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study aims to investigate the effects of MPEP on the Rheumatoid Factor (RF), C-Reactive Protein (CRP), and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR); to evaluate the correlation between CRP-ESR. This is a quasi-experimental study. Ten RA women who were recommended by the Dukuhseti PHC have participated. The procedure is ethically approved. The venous blood samples were used to measure the dependent variables. Eight-teen sessions of MPEP were done. A two-tailed paired t-test to elucidate the differences in pre-post data; the bivariate Pearson correlation test for CRP-ESR. The RF increased significantly (pre: 19,40±2,46 and post: 22,40±2,41). CRP increased (pre: 0,30±0,07 and post: 0,37±0,06; p 0,05). The change in ESR is not significant. There is a strong-positive, significant correlation (r: 0,831) between CRP-ESR. We concluded that MPEP is not able to lower the RA parameters, and there is a positive feedback correlation between CRP-ESR.
