Abstract

An artificial reef is a structure that is placed underwater and functions as a natural coral reef. Apart from being an artificial reef, the function of artificial reefs is also as a submerged breakwater. As a breakwater, it is necessary to know the level of effectiveness in reducing waves and the impact of scouring arising from the laying of artificial reef structures. This research was conducted to determine the correlation between the ability of wave attenuation to the depth of scouring due to variations in laying (structure gap distance) and variations in waves on artificial reefs in hexagonal shape with a scale model of 1:10. From the results of research conducted at the Marine Energy Laboratory of the Department of Marine Engineering, FTK ITS obtained, for laying structures with a gap of 1D, they have better wave attenuation capabilities with a small maximum scouring depth, namely with a Kt value of 0.844 and a scouring depth of 3 cm. For the laying of the structure with a distance of 0D, it has a greater value of transmission coefficient (Kt), which is 0.911 with a greater value of the maximum scouring depth, which is 3.5 cm.

Abstract

Waves that move towards the coast have an energy level that corresponds to the magnitude of the generating force. Waves with high energy intensity are dominantly destructive when they hit the coastal area. In order to reduce the destructive effect of waves, coastal protection structures are needed to dampen the wave energy. Artificial coral reef (artificial reef) is one type of structure that can reduce wave energy. Besides functioning as an artificial reef for marine ecosystem biota, but also as a submerged breakwater structure. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between wave stepness and the transmission coefficient produced by hexagonal artificial reefs with a model scale of 1:10. The test is carried out using regular waves with a range of H/gT2 values between 0.0007 – 0.006. The results of research conducted at the Marine Energy Laboratory of the Department of Marine Engineering, FTK ITS, show that an increase in the value of wave steepness correlates with an increase in the value of the transmission coefficient (Kt) for all tests and configurations. The 1D structure configuration has a lower transmission coefficient (Kt) than the 0D structure configuration for each variation of the test wave.

Abstract

The functions and uses of artificial reef have evolved from a method of coral reefs restoration to a coastal protection system. Artificial reef can reduce the hydraulic load on the coast to the level required to maintain shoreline balance. Various materials and shape of artificial reefs have been introduced. This paper discussed the wave transmission over hexagonal-shaped artificial reef with 6 holes on each side. The study was conducted using the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (SPH) method integrated in DualSPHysics software to see the effect of gaps between structures with a predetermined configuration to the value of the transmission coefficient (Kt). It was found that the configuration with no gap was able to absorb waves better than the configuration with a gap of 0.15 m and 0.112 m based on the Kt value obtained. In terms of hydrodynamics, it was found that: (1) The increment of the wave steepness, the smaller the Kt value obtained, (2) The larger the wave height, the smaller the Kt value at 0.1 m freeboard depth, while on the freeboard with a depth of 0.2 m and 0.3 m, it was found that the greater the wave height, the greater the Kt value, (3) the increment of the wave period, the Kt were higher, and also (4) the higher the freeboard, the higher the Kt.

Abstract

In solving the problem of abrasion and also protecting marine ecosystems, it is necessary to come up with an idea, namely a wave energy retaining structure that is also capable of being a habitat for marine biota. Therefore, in this study, artificial coral reefs were tested which are considered capable to solve these problems, plus those which at the same time rehabilitate damaged coral reef ecosystems. The artificial reefs model in this test is a hexagonal type with one layer arrangement. To get the success value (KD) of artificial reefs, it is seen from the percentage of damage caused by the influence of height and wave period. Then the KD value was calculated using the Hudson formula so that it was found that the hexagonal type artificial reefs had a KD value = 1.2.

Abstract

Generally, the purpose of artificial reefs is to rebuild naturally occurring coral reefs that have been destroyed. Without sacrificing the attractiveness of the protected beach, these manmade reefs functioned as new habitats for marine life and protected coasts by reducing wave energy. on the other side man-made artificial reefs can perform as submerged breakwaters, their ability to dampen incoming waves must be investigated. In this paper, the researchers present a new shape in the form of a hexagonal artificial reef. The wave attenuation performance index is calculated using the wave attenuation performance rating. The research focuses on the effect of structural height (h/d) on transmission wave value using a physical testing method on a scale of 1:10 at the wave flume of the Department of Marine Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Surabaya. The test results indicate that the smallest transmission coefficient (KT) was produced on artificial reefs Configuration A-3 with the greatest submerged depth (h/d=0.75). The parameter results indicate that the greater the wave steepness (H/gT2) and the significantly larger the immersion depth (h/d), the better the wave reduction.

Abstract

The use of temporary towers is a solution to shorten the outage time. Temporary Tower is used as a tool in reconductoring work and tower replacement. The study by calculating the Budget Plan Cost (RAB) and schedule analysis using Microsoft Project Application to determine the comparative duration of time required to complete the reconductoring work and tower replacement between using temporary tower and without temporary tower. From the time schedule created, it will be known which work method uses a shorter duration of time so that it can save or speed up the outage time. This study will produce what kind or type of conductor is appropriate in the context of replacing conductors or reconductoring SUTT 150 kV A - C, resulting in a reconductoring and tower replacement work schedule that is 15 days faster when using a temporary tower and reduces the outage time by about 132 days or about -89%. However, it requires an additional cost of Rp 1,872,217,454, which is still much smaller than the loss due to outages if the work is not done with a temporary tower.

Abstract

The construction of the 150 kV Transmission electricity infrastructure by PT PLN (Persero) is an assignment from the Government in order to support electricity growth in Indonesia. Several 150 kV Transmission projects experienced delays in project completion due to inaccurate timing and project completion costs. The construction project of the 150 kV transmission involves engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, requiring careful calculations of time and costs while considering resources (Man, Material, Machine, and Method). The Critical Path Method (CPM) is used as the deterministic analysis approach for time analysis, while the Time Cost Trade-Off (TCTO) method is employed when there is a potential for project delays, acceleration, or cost overrun. The combination of the CPM and TCTO methods is suitable for project activities that are precisely known, while considering both parallel and serial work. Based on the research results, the 150 kV transmission project has 13 critical paths. The acceleration scheme that significantly impacts time and cost is the acceleration during the construction phase, and changes in all resource variables (Man, Material, Machine, and Method) affect both time and cost. However, a change in a single resource variable, namely Method, may impact time but not necessarily cost.

Abstract

Power plant projects are crucial to providing andining a reliable power system. Power plant projects, like other construction projects, often experience a problem of delayed completion of work known as time overrun, which can result in financial losses and project failure to be completed on time. Time overrun is overtime that exceeds the completion date specified in the contract or the project submission date agreed by both parties. Engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning are all parts of the power plant construction project. In completing the project, it is essential to understand why the power plant construction project is delayed and how to properly mitigate the risk. This research is quantitative research, which means using a questionnaire. The aim of this study is to find out what caused the time overrun of the power plant project at the Timorese PLTU. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is used to process data from questionnaire results. The results of the research showed that there were seven research hypotheses, with two accepted and five rejected. The external factors, and the owner-related factors are the time overrun factors based on the accepted hypothesis. Based on the cause of the time overrun, some mitigation measures can be recommended to management including a memorandum of understanding (MoU) scheme with stakeholders related to existing permits, a scheme related to contractual and technical procedures when unforeseen conditions occur and ensuring the quality of the results of the soil investigation.
