Abstract

Karang Werda Wiguna Karya Kelurahan Kebonsari Surabaya merupakan sekelompok masyarakat yang kurang produktif. Persoalan prioritas yang disepakati untuk diselesaikan selama pelaksanaan kegiatan dalam memberdayakan para lansia berpotensi untuk mempelajari keterampilan kerajinan Makrame. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian diskriptif kualitatif untuk memudahkan dalam mendeskripsikan beberapa fakta-fakta, dan hasil yang terdapat di kelompok lansia. Subyek penelitian ini adalah Karang Werda Wiguna Karya Kelurahan Kebonsar Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, penelusuran data online, observasi, wawancara mendalam (indepth interview) dengan informan dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan melalui studi lapangan (field research). Luaran (output) dari kegiatan pemberdayaan ini adalah produk-produk kerajinan berbahan tali kor dengan teknik makrame, yaitu: sarung bantal kursi, tutup galon air mineral, kap lampu dan tas. Media promosi berupa standing banner dan brosur digunakan untuk memasarkan produk-produk kerajinan ketika mengikuti pameran produk unggulan daerah.

Abstract

Desa Pelemwatu Kecamatan Menganti Kabupaten Gresik banyak berdiri kompleks perumahan karena Kecamatan Menganti letaknya sangat strategis berbatasan langsung dengan wilayah Kota Surabaya. Banyaknya perumahan maka banyak pula sampah yang ditimbulkan terutama plastik. Metode yang digunakan dalam Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) adalah memberikan pelatihan keterampilan kerajinan dari limbah plastik di Desa Pelemwatu. Keterampilan kerajinan diberikan kepada warga desa Pelemwatu yang berusia remaja. Target dari kegiatan PKM adalah mengubah mitra atau khalayak sasaran agar memiliki keterampilan dengan membuat produk kerajinan memanfaatkan limbah plastik rumah tangga yang berada di sekitar rumah. Melalui kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan warga desa mampu mewujudkan desa yang berwawasan lingkungan. Sasaran utama kegiatan ini adalah remaja Desa Pelemwatu Kecamatan Menganti, Gresik sebanyak 20 peserta. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dua kali tatap muka yaitu tanggal 28 Juli dan 4 Agustus 2019. Pelatihan ini menghasilkan barang kerajinan yang memiliki nilai fungsi dan nilai estetis. Teknik yang dipraktikkan yaitu teknik gunting, tempel, lipat dan teknik cat.  Pelemwatu Village is located in Menganti District, Gresik Regency. In the District of Menganti there are many residential complexes, which are very strategic because they are directly adjacent to the city of Surabaya. The number of houses causes a lot of waste, especially plastic. PKM team trained the teenagers to craft skills from plastic waste. These handicraft skills are given to villagers, especially teenagers of productive age. The target of the PKM activity is to change partners or target audiences to have skills by making handicrafts using household plastic waste around the house. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that the villagers will be able to create an environmentally friendly village. The main target of this activity is the teenagers of Pelemwatu Village, Menganti District, Gresik, totalling 20 participants. This training was conducted twice face-to-face, namely on July 28 and August 4, 2019. This training produced handicraft items that had functional and aesthetic values. The techniques practised are scissors, paste, folding and painting techniques.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine a representation of women in the poster of Warkop DKI comedy film (Dono, Kasino, Indro) in 1980-1989 from a woman point of view. The involvement of women as models in the film poster media was not yet clear in terms of their roles; however, women could be used more as commodities of capitalism to reap profits. In the patriarchal rule, men were assumed to be created as culture-making in the other women were subordinated. The research applied a descriptive qualitative methods by collecting data using documentation techniques. The collected data was reducted, presented, and concluded. Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory was used to analyze poster design elements that contained the exploitation of the female body. The research results find that (1) women in the film poster media are only subordinated to the poster to attract men, potential viewers. (2) Film posters show sexual exploitation and eroticism that is made into a high-selling and quite promising commodification.

Abstract

Tenun merupakan wujud dari kekayaan budaya Indonesia yang berharga. Paradila adalah produsen kain tenun ikat asal Lamongan yang sudah menjadi salah satu produk unggulan Kabupaten Lamongan.. Akan tetapi, eksistensi tenun Paradila Lamongan jika dibandingkan dengan tenun dari Lombok, Riau, dan Kalimantan masih kurang dikenal. Untuk meningkatkan eksistensi tenun Paradila dibutuhkan media promosi. Salah satu media promosi yang efektif adalah Instagram. Paradila belum memaksimalkan potensi Instagram dalam strategi pemasaran mereka. Melalui perancangan konten visual Instagram ini diharapkan dapat memperkenalkan tenun ikat Lamongan sekaligus meningkatkan penjualan Tenun Ikat Paradila. Tujuan perancangan ini adalah 1) mendeskripsikan proses kreatif perancangan konten visual Instagram sebagai media promosi Tenun Ikat Paradila. 2) menerapkan desain konten visual Tenun Ikat “Paradila” dalam media Instagram. Tahapan dalam perancangan konten visual ini meliputi identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, analisis data, penyusunan konsep dan visualisasi, sedangkan metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis STP (Segmenting, Targeting, Positioning), SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) dan USP (Unique Selling Preposition). Hasil dari perancangan ini berupa media utama feeds Instagram 33 post dan 16 Instastory yang selanjutnya dipublikasikan di akun Instagram Paradila. Abstract

AbstractBauhas is one of school of design in Germany which combine between art and craft. It was found by Walter Gropius who was and German Architect. Although Bauhas was only last for 15 years ( 19-19-1933) , it has huge impact to design and architecture. Besides the Bauhas artwork broke through the existing design inhtat period of time, the published book are used in school of design around the world. even the international style such as simple and use primery color also geometric shape become the part of modern design. The learning philosophy is also used until now which is learning by doing through studio system and workshop in school of design AbstrakBauhaaus adalah sekolah desain pertama di Jerman yang menyatukan anatara seni dan kriya . Didirikan oleh Walter Gropius seoranh arsitek Jerman. Meskipun hanya berdiri selama 15 tahun ( 1919-1933) pengaruhnya besar terhadap desain dan arsitektur. Selain karya-karya yang dihasilkan mendobrak rancangan yang telah ada, buku-buku yang dipublikasikan juga menjadi acuan sekolah-sekolah desain seluruh dunia. Bahkan gaya yang dinaut, seperti sederhana dan menggunakan warna primer serta bentuk geometris tetap menjadi acuan desain modern. Bhakan filosofi embelajarannya juga diterapkan hingga kini, yaitu learning by doing melalui sistem studio dan bengkel kerja di sekolah-sekolah

Abstract

AbstractThe root of Ukiyo-e can be traced back when urbanization became trend in Japan in 16 century leading the developing of merchans and actors started to write stories and novels, then combinedwith picture painting, called ehon. Ehon is picture book with full illustration  and story. Ukiyo-e also used as Kabuki show poster. The source of inspiration was real life and urban culture in that time. In the beginning Ukiyo-e was only art expression but then became industry which related with literature. In the end Ukiyo-e shifted into literature visualization. Abtrrak Akar seni Ukiyo-e dapat dilacak ketika urbanisasi melanda pada abad 16 yang menuntun perkembangan kelas pedagang dan pelakon yang memulai menulis cerita-cerita atau novel-novel serta lukisan gambar digabungkan dengna ehon, yaitu buku bergambar dengan cerita dan ilustrasi. Juga digunakan sebagai poster pertunjukan Kabuki. Sumber inspirasi gambar Ukiyo-e merupakan benar-benar kenyataan kehidupan dan budaya urban masyarakat Jepang pada masa itu. Pada awalnya Seni Ukyo-e merupakan ekspresi seni rupa belaka kemudian berkembang menjadi industri yang juga mengandung seni sastra. Seni Ukiyo-e bergeser menjadi visualisasi seni sastra

AbstrakIn Djarum 76 commercial can be studies visually and verbally. Visually, the figure which is shown as an icon is a genie with Javanesse full set cloth, with beskap ( Javannese shirt) dan blangkon ( Javanese hat) , in the background also pictured mauntains and rice field. The figureis similing with an open arms like asking to join. Verbally is written as slogan shown culture acculturation between Indonesia and English AbstrakPada iklan Djarum 76 dilihat dari aspek visual dan verbal. Secara visual figur yang dimunculkan pada iklan sebagai ikon adalah jin dengan busana orang Jawa dengan lengkap dengan beskap dan blangkon disertai latar belakang pegunungan dan persawahan khas tanah Jawa. Dengan senyum dan tangan terbuka lebar seperti megajak. Aspek verbal berupa slogan yang digunakan terdapat akulturasi budaya antara Indonesia Inggris denga salah satu katanya mengadaptasi bahasa Inggris

Abstract

Abstract.Sidoarjo has culture in the form of traditions, arts and cultural heritage that are still preserved. Indonesian children are increasingly distant from their local culture and are more interested in cultures that come from outside so that it can cause children to forget and even become unknown to their local culture. Cultural awareness or cultural awareness is the ability to recognize and understand the influence of culture on people's values and behavior. Local culture needs to be instilled in students because it has good values and minimizes the negative influence of outside culture. Through the design of merchandise with illustrations of Sidoarjo culture, it is hoped that it can increase the cultural awareness of elementary school children in the Sidoarjo area. The stages of the design process include data collection, data analysis, design concepts, design visualization, final design, and trial work using SWOT data analysis techniques. There are 5 kinds of culture that are illustrated, namely the Nyadran Tradition, the Bandeng Lelang Tradition, Banjar Kemuning Dance, Jaran Kepang Dance, and Candi Pari with explanatory texts which are then applied to 4 kinds of merchandise, namely t-shirts, pencil cases, drinking bottles, and key chains. Through testing the work on elementary school children in the Sidoarjo area, the children's response to merchandise is curiosity about culture while the benefits obtained include, they can find out the main elements of each culture displayed by merchandise.. Key word: culture, Sidoarjo, cultural awareness, children, merchandise  AbstrakSidoarjo memiliki kebudayaan dalam bentuk tradisi, kesenian maupun cagar budaya yang masih dilestarikan. Anak-anak Indonesia semakin jauh dari kebudayaan daerahnya dan lebih tertarik pada budaya yang berasal dari luar sehingga dapat menyebabkan anak lupa bahkan buta terhadap budaya daerahnya. Cultural awareness atau kesadaran budaya merupakan kemampuan untuk mengenali dan memahami pengaruh budaya pada nilai-nilai dan perilaku masyarakat. Kebudayaan lokal perlu ditanamkan pada peserta didik karena memiliki nilai-nilai yang baik serta meminimalisir pengaruh negatif  budaya luar. Melalui perancangan merchandise dengan ilustrasi kebudayaan Sidoarjo ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan cultural awareness anak-anak SD di daerah Sidoarjo. Tahapan proses perancangan ini meliputi pengumpulan data, analisis data, konsep desain, visualisasi desain, final desain, dan uji coba karya dengan teknik analisis data SWOT. Terdapat 5 macam kebudayaan yang diilustrasikan, yakni Tradisi Nyadran, Tradisi Lelang Bandeng, Tari Banjar Kemuning, Tari Jaran Kepang, dan Candi Pari dengan dilengkapi teks penjelas yang kemudian diaplikasikan pada 4 macam barang merchandise yakni kaos, tempat pensil, botol minum, dan gantungan kunci. Melalui uji coba karya pada anak-anak SD di daerah Sidoarjo, respon anak-anak terhadap merchandise yakni rasa penasaran terhadap budaya sedangkan manfaat yang diperoleh diantaranya, mereka dapat mengetahui unsur pokok dari tiap-tiap kebudayaan yang ditampilkan merchandise. Kata Kunci Budaya, Sidoarjo, Cultural awareness, Anak, Merchandise.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ecoprint Girly Lestari is a small business that sells fashion and accessories products with ecoprint patterns. This MSME is one of the MSMEs that sells its products at the Surabaya Kriya Gallery. Established in 2019, Ecoprint Girly Lestari does not have a conceptual and consistent visual identity. It can be seen through the differences in logo usage in each media. This condition makes consumers difficult to recognize their products. Therefore, this study aims to describe the visual identity design process for Ecoprint Girly Lestari MSMEs. This research is qualitative with interview, observation, documentation, and literature study data collection techniques and uses the STP and the SWOT analysis methods. The result of visual identity design is a logo with a design concept that has been adapted to the uniqueness and target audience of MSMEs. The logo is applied to several media such as hang tags, clothing labels, paper sleeves, paper bags, business cards, neon box and stationary. There are also supporting media such as brochures and x-banners. Guidelines for logo usage are written in Graphic Standard Manual (GSM).

Abstract

A novel needs several supporting aspects in order to compete well, such as an interesting storyline, clear character development, and a cover that is relevant to the storyline. A cover is not only protecting the pages of a book, but also the face of the story. Cogheart is a series of adventure fantasy-themed novels written by Peter Bunzl, a novelist and animator from London. This novel received high popularity and was awarded of the 2017 Sefton Super Reads Award and the 2018 Awesome Book Award. The purpose of this study is to describe the visual elements of the cover and analyze their relationship to the content of the story. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This study uses the theory of design review to describe and explain each design element in the cover, which are: descriptive, formalistic, interpretation and evaluation. The results of the research show that each visual element in the novel represents the characters, setting of places, and crucial objects in the novel. The placement of these elements also symbolizes the unpredictable storyline.
