Abstract

Early use of technology always has advantages and disadvantages in social interactions. Some neighborhood organizations believe that technology may promote accountability, pragmatism, security, and convenience. Other groups, meanwhile, believe that gadgets are prone to criminality. Gadgets must be present since they are an unavoidable aspect of life. Use intended for young children requires parental supervision. Similarly, technology can be employed as a teaching tool. The study's goal was to investigate how Islamic education ideals are taught to young children through the use of technology. This study used descriptive qualitative research as its methodology. ways for gathering data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Ten parents of young children participated as informants in the study. Data reduction and exposure stages, as well as inference and data verification, are all used in technical analysis of the data. By using three different procedures and data sources, the veracity of the data is tested. The study's findings demonstrate that: First, early childhood care can be provided using either an authoritative parenting style, which limits children's independence while granting them authority, or a permissive parenting style, which pampers them. Second, using technology as media is one way that parents today are instilling Islamic education values which includes aspects of aqidah, worship (ibadah), and morals (akhlak) in their children. Third, gadgets have a negative impact on early childhood including cyberbullying, pornography, blasphemy and speaking impolitely in cyberspace, then children think instantly, are less active, addicted to gadgets and result in a consumptive lifestyle.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are essential competencies for early childhood. Research shows that early childhood students with optimal problem-solving abilities during preschool demonstrate better academic achievement in primary and secondary education. However, many early childhood students still possess low problem-solving skills. This deficiency manifests through high dependency on teacher assistance, difficulty identifying simple problems, and limited initiative in seeking alternative solutions. This study aims to explore the use of experimental methods to enhance early childhood problem-solving skills by analyzing cognitive processes during experimental activities and identifying factors affecting the method's effectiveness. This descriptive qualitative research involved 15 children aged 4-6 years, 3 classroom teachers, and 5 parents over eight weeks. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The results revealed improvements in early childhood problem-solving skills through three stages: (1) initial stage marked by dependence on teacher assistance, (2) developmental stage showing ability to ask specific questions and attempt independent solutions, (3) final stage demonstrating systematic approach application in problem-solving. The teacher's role as facilitator through structured scaffolding techniques and the "Experiments at Home" program involving parents successfully supported problem-solving skill development across cognitive, social, and practical aspects. Supporting factors included parental support and a conducive learning environment. Keyword: Experimental Method, Problem-Solving, Early Childhood Education

Abstract

Seedling quality contributes significantly to the development of industrial forest plantations. This study assessed Dicranopteris linearis (Resam) and rice husk charcoal mixtures as an alternative nursery media for Acacia mangium Willd. seedlings. The study was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design, and the data were analyzed using ANOVA. Five mixtures of resam and rice husk charcoal were tested: A (100% control), B (80%:20%), C (70%:30%), D (60%:40%), and E (50%:50%). The ratio of 70%:30% yielded the best performance, with a mean height of 12.84 cm, fresh weight of 4.63 grams, dry shoot weight of 1.53 grams, and a Seedling Quality Index (SQI) of 0.0018. These findings highlight mixed media C as the most effective composition and confirm the potential of resam and rice husk charcoal mixture as an effective and sustainable nursery media for industrial forest plantation.
