Abstract

This study aims to develop the vision SETS elementary science learning with discovery learning method. To know effectivity elementary science teaching tools in growing SETS visionary science process skills and instill values in themselves and to know the implementation learning devices in the classroom. This study is a research & development (R & D / Research and Development) is a software product developed science learning in Fifth Grade Elementary School envisions SETS with discovery learning method. Based on the results of analysis show the validity of the learning value is 4.12 on a valid category. Average student has good science process skills, the average percentage of the value of > 70 %, the effective development of learning tools for to build values in students. Average student learning outcomes in the category of either > 70, the development of learning outcomes appropriate to apply > 80 % of students gave positive responses. SETS visionary science learning by discovery learning methods to actively engage students in learning, can improve science process skills, instill values in students, and provide an average of student learning outcomes that achieve average scores > 70. Implementation LKS and LDS assist students in learning, apply science concepts and provide opportunities for students to apply as scientists so as to provide a more in-depth experience of the concept of science.Keywords: development, methods of discovery learning SETS vision, value

Abstract

This study aims to identify the elements of science in the process of batik jumputan as the local culture. By knowing the existence of the elements of science in batik jumputan, expected to foster a positive appreciation of batik jumputan as a local cultural heritage. Based on the results of questionnaire analysis, we know that the growing appreciation before and after learning of the profession WHO batik makers are at high criterion (0.70 g). The results of the observation science process skills while making batik we can conclude it to the average score of science process skills (60% KPS 80%) are located in the high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil keterampilan proses sains dan apresiasi siswa terhadap profesi pengrajin tempe dalam pembelajaran IPA berpendekatan etnosains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata persentase keterampilan proses sains siswa pada uji coba I sebesar 64,58%,  pada uji coba II sebesar 70,10% dan sebesar 74,26 % pada uji coba III. Hasil perhitungan terhadap angket apresiasi siswa terhadap profesi pengrajin tempe diperoleh nilai N-gain > 0,70 yang berarti peningkatan apresiasi siswa berada pada kategori tinggi.   This study aims to determine the profile of science process skills and appreciation of students to the profession tempe producers in learning science with etnosains approach. The results showed the average percentage of students in science process skills test at 64.58% I, II trials of 70.10% and 74.26% for the III trials. The calculation result of the appreciation of students questionnaires to obtain professional craftsmen tempe-gain values ​​N> 0.70 which means an increase in appreciation of students are in high category.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas, efektivitas, daya tarik siswa, dan respon guru terhadap pengembangan buku ajar tematik dengan gambar kartun tema “Diri Sendiri”.Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas I A dan I B SD Panggang Sedayu. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket (kuesioner), tes, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala likert, persentase, dan Uji Independent Sample T-Tes.Hasil penilaian kualitas produk dari ahli buku ajar memperoleh nilai 4,12 dengan kriteria baik. Efektivitas produk dilihat dari perbandingan peningkatan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen (menggunakan buku ajar tematik dengan gambar kartun tema “Diri Sendiri”) dengan kelas kontrol (pembelajaran konvensional menggunakan buku ajar yang ada di sekolah). Hasil pada kelas eksperimen rata-rata minat belajar siswa meningkat sebesar 23,49% dan pada kelas kontrol minat belajar siswa meningkat sebesar 9,74%. Minat siswa pada kelas eksperimen meningkat > kelas kontrol. Hasil uji t menunjukan bahwa nilai thitung 3,443 dan ttabel dengan derajat kebebasan 41 dan taraf signifikansi 5% yaitu 2. Berdasarkan hasil uji t didapatkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05. Dari kedua pertimbangan yaitu melihat thitung dan nilai signifikansi, menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dari data minat dan prestasi di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku ajar tematik dengan gambar kartun tema “Diri Sendiri” efektif meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa. Daya tarik pengembangan buku ajar dapat dilihat dari observasi aktivitas siswa dan respon siswa. Rata-rata aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen 4,47 dengan kriteria sangat baik, sedangkan rata-rata pada kelas kontrol 4 dengan kriteria baik. Respon siswa pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata 4,88 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Dari data observasi dan respon siswa dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelas eksperimen tertarik dengan buku ajar tematik dengan gambar kartun tema “Diri Sendiri”. Respon guru memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 4,92 dengan kriteria sangat baik.Kata Kunci : Buku Ajar, Gambar Kartun, Minat, Prestasi Belajar  ABSTRACTThis research aimed to determine the quality, effectiveness, students interest and teacher responses to the development of thematic textbook with a cartoon theme " Yourself ".Subjects of this reserch were students of IA and IB classes at Panggang Elementary School Sedayu. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire (questionnaire), tests and observation. Data analysis techniques used the Likert scale, percentages, and Independent Sample t-Test.The results of the expert assessment of product quality textbook obtained a score of 4.12 with good criteria. The effectiveness of the products seen from a comparison increased interest and achievement of students in the experimental class (using the textbook thematic with a cartoon theme "Yourself") at a grade control (conventional learning using textbooks in the schools). The results of the experimental class average student interest increased by 23.49% and the control class student interest increased by 9.74%. Interests of students in the experimental class increases > control class. T test results showed that the score of tcount 3,443 and t table with 41 degrees of freedom and a significance level of 5% ie 2. Based on t test results obtained significance score 0.001 <0.05. From these two considerations by seeing the tcount and significance score, showed that there was a significant difference between learning in the experimental class and control class. From data of interest and the achievement of the above it can be concluded that the thematic teaching book with a cartoon theme "Yourself" effectively increasing the interest and students achievement. The interest of the development of textbooks can be seen from the observation of student activities and student responses. The average activity of students in the experimental class of 4.47 with very good criteria, while the average in the control class 4 with good criteria. The response of students in the experimental class earned an average of 4.88 with very good criteria. From the observation data and the students responses can be concluded that the experimental class interested with the textbook thematic with a cartoon theme "Yourself". Abstract

This study aimed to improve the mastery of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of students in disaster mitigation in prone areas of volcanic eruptions. The subjects of this research were fifth (V) graders in three elementary schools situated in prone areas of Merapi volcano eruption in Srumbung subdistrict, Magelang regency, Central Java. The data collected in this study consisted of disaster knowledge, attitude, and mitigation practice. The data of disaster knowledge were obtained through a test and analyzed using t-test and N-gain. The attitude data were collected using questionnaire with an improvement analysis using N-gain. The mitigation practice data were collected through observation and analyzed by descriptive percentage for attitudes and skills. The research results showed that the implementation of thematic learning of Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) integrated with local wisdom was able to reconstruct and increase the disaster management knowledge. This can be seen from the N-gain score obtained by each elementary school which the highest Gain Score was 0.46 and included in the medium category. There was an enhancement attitude toward disaster having the highest Gain Score was 0.77. All disaster mitigation indicators were successfully mastered by more than 70 percent of the students, who were in the good category (70≥X≤85) in all three elementary schools implementing the thematic learning of SETS integrated with local wisdom.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop a science thematic model of science, environment, technology and its validity so that it can be used to improve the literacy of science of elementary school students. This was a research and development. The data collected in this research consisted of model validity data, students’ science literacy, students’ activity, students’ and teachers’ response to the developed learning model. The data collection techniques used was questionnaires, observations and tests. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of the research showed that the developed thematic learning model of science, environment, technology and societies got an average score of 4.11 falling into the valid category. The ability of science literacy increased from the previous 41.71 at a very low level (<54) to 62.91 at a moderate level (60-75). The average score of student activity during the learning was in a good category. Students’ and teachers’ responses to the developed learning model were positive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop the scientific character of science learning laden with props thrift and performance assessment. This type of research is research and development. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires, observation and tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis percentage. The results showed that the validity of the learning pernagkat validity of the development value (Va) 4.23 which is the valid criterion (4 ≤ Va <5). Scientific character within students in science learning laden scientific character with props used items that are in good category where the average percentage of scientific character on each Class of> 70%. The average percentage of student activity is in the good category that is> 70%. Cognitive abilities of students in the class A1 of 84.44% cognitive ability and very good 13.33% of the students in the category fairly and 2.22% of students are in the poor category. In the A2 grade of 80.43% of the students have the cognitive ability and very good and the rest have the cognitive abilities in the category enough. In the A3 grade of 89.13% of the students have the cognitive ability and very good as well as the A4 grade of 93.33% of the students have the cognitive ability and very good san rest have sufficient cognitive ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar tematik bervisi science, environment, technology and society  (SETS) untuk menanamkan konsep sustainable and renewable energy siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development). Pengembangan dilakukan pada buku ajar untuk siswa kelas III Sekolah Dasar dengan tema energi kemudian buku ajar tersebut divalidasikan untuk selanjutnya direvisi dan diimplemantasikan. Selama uji coba, dilakukan pengamatan aktivitas siswa, pemberian angket ketepatan pembelajaran dan soal tes untuk mengetahui penguasaan konsep sustainable and renewable energy. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kevalidan buku ajar sebesar 4,26  yang berada pada kategori valid.  Kemampuan penguasaan konsep sustainable and renewable energy berada pada level baik, aktivitas siswa berada pada kategori baik yaitu lebih dari 70 % siswa aktif. Guru dan siswa juga memberikan positif terhadap hasil pengembangan buku ajar.
