Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is a crucial component of literacy and significantly influences the ability to comprehend reading texts. However, elementary school students often encounter difficulties in interpreting new vocabulary found within texts. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Literacy Interactive Flashcard (Litraflash) media in enhancing the Indonesian vocabulary interpretation skills of fourth-grade students. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two fourth-grade classes at an elementary school in Talang District, Tegal Regency, assigned as the experimental and control groups, respectively. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis involved normality and homogeneity tests as prerequisites, followed by independent sample t-tests and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the experimental group achieved an average N-Gain score of 0.61 (moderate–high category), while the control group achieved an average N-Gain score of 0.38 (moderate category). The t-test results indicated a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.001). These findings demonstrate that Litraflash media is effective in improving the Indonesian vocabulary interpretation skills of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan kompetensi esensial yang perlu dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran Biologi untuk menghadapi tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Namun, praktik pembelajaran di sekolah masih cenderung berpusat pada guru dan berorientasi pada hafalan konsep, sehingga kurang mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi pembelajaran Biologi berbasis Health in Our Hands (HIOH) yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan deep learning dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest–posttest yang dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Balapulang, Kabupaten Tegal. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji perbedaan untuk mengetahui perubahan kemampuan peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik setelah mengikuti pembelajaran Biologi berbasis HIOH dengan pendekatan deep learning, yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata hasil tes serta meningkatnya partisipasi aktif peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, penerapan pembelajaran Biologi berbasis HIOH dengan pendekatan deep learning efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif strategi pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik di jenjang sekolah menengah.

Abstract

Leadership plays a crucial role in shaping teacher performance, particularly in the context of educational transformation in Indonesian schools led by principals who graduated from the Teacher Leadership program. This study aims to analyze the influence of various leadership styles directive, supportive, participatory, and goal-focused on junior high school teacher performance. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 75 teachers from three public junior high schools in Bantarbolang District. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the influence of each leadership style. The results indicate that all four leadership styles significantly influence teacher performance, with supportive leadership being the most dominant. These findings emphasize the importance of adaptive and empowering leadership practices aligned with teacher needs. This study contributes to the development of educational leadership in Indonesia by providing empirical evidence as a basis for improving principal training and performance-based leadership strategies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the professionalism of elementary school teachers' performance is still not optimal. The purpose of this research is the influence of coaching-based supervision and motivation on the professionalism of teacher performance. The quantitative inferential approach with the survey method Multiple linear regression Population of 100 teachers with a sample of 80 teachers in the Taman District Coordinator area with a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability. Data collection techniques through questionnaires with a linkert scale, observation and documentation. Data analysis through classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation), multiple linear regression, ANOVA, t-test, F-test and determination coefficient (R²). The results of the research showed that the regression coefficient value (X1) B = 0.581 with a t-count value = 8.420 and a significant value (p) < 0.001. The motivation variable (X2) was B = 0.367, with a t-count = 5.773 and a significant value (p) < 0.001. The teacher performance professionalism variable was 94.6% (R² = 0.946%). Simultaneously, the principal's supervision based on coaching and motivation had a significant effect on the professionalism of elementary school teacher performance.
