Abstract

This study aims to describe the symbolic meanings of among tebal ritual and the description of attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro in novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki. This research uses descriptive qualitative method which put forward on content analysis with in-depth reading on the novel. The problem in this research is the symbolic meaning of among tebal ritual and the description of the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro which is reflected from among tebal ritual in the novel Genduk. The data of this research are all symbolic expressions in among tebal ritual and all words and sentences that describe the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro in the novel Genduk. Result this research can describe the symbolic meaning of among tebal ritual which consists of symbolic meaning of ritual offerings that are white, yellow, red, and black tumpeng which symbolize the four elements in human beings that cannot be separated and jajan pasar that symbolize human character in this world is different. Prayer in rituals has a high expectation for tobacco plants to be planted to grow fertile with good harvest. The symbolic meaning of the procession of among tebal ritual is the togetherness that is in the society of tobacco farmers on the slopes of Sindoro. This study describes the attitude of life of the tobacco farmers on the slopes of Mount Sindoro which reflected from among tebal.Keywords: among tebal, attitude of life, symbolic meanings, tobacco farmers MAKNA SIMBOLIK RITUAL AMONG TEBAL DALAM NOVEL GENDUK KARYA SUNDARI MARDJUKI AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan makna simbolik ritual among tebal dan deskripsi sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng sindoro dalam novel Genduk Karya Sundari Mardjuki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif yang lebih mengedepankan pada analisis konten (isi) dengan pembacaan mendalam pada novel. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah makna simbolik dari ritual among tebal serta deskripsi sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng sindoro yang tercermin dari ritual among tebal dalam novel Genduk. Data penelitian ini berupa semua ungkapan simbolis pada ritual among tebal serta semua kata dan kalimat yang mendeskripsikan sikap hidup petani tembakau di lereng Sindoro dalam novel Genduk. Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan makna simbolik ritual among tebal yang terdiri atas makna simbolik sesaji ritual yaitu tumpeng putih, kuning, merah, dan hitam yang melambangkan keempat unsur dalam diri manusia tidak dapat dipisahkan serta jajanan pasar yang melambangkan karakter manusia di dunia ini tidak ada yang sama. Doa dalam ritual memiliki makna pengharapan tinggi untuk tanaman tembakau yang akan ditanam dapat tumbuh subur dan panennya bagus. Makna simbolik prosesi ritual among tebal yaitu kebersamaan yang terjalin di masyarakat petani tembakau lereng Sindoro. Penelitian ini juga mendeksripsikan sikap hidup petani tembakau lereng Sindoro yang tercermin dari ritual among tebal.Kata kunci: makna simbolik, among tebal, sikap hidup, petani tembakau

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran berbasis mind mapping terhadap minat dan hasil belajar bangun datar peserta didik kelas V. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan konsep true experimental design dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi yang digunakan seluruh peserta didik Kelas V SD Negeri Telukan 2 Kecamatan Grogol Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021 sejumlah 57 peserta didik. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh, sehingga populasi dijadikan sampel. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi perangkat belajar, angket dan tes. Teknis analisis data dengan uji ANAVA dua jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran berbasis problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata sebesar 86,34, sedangkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar Matematika dengan pembelajaran berbasis mind mapping sebesar 77,57 dan uji t diperoleh nilai thitung (2,714) dan p (0,009) < 0,05. Kesimpulan, terdapat perbedaan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran berbasis mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar matematika materi bangun datar peserta didik kelas V.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPAS yang diajarkan di sekolah mampu membuat peserta didik memiliki daya pikir yang kritis, aktif, dan ingin tahu dengan penerapan Problem Based Learning.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pembelajaran IPAS di kelas IV SD Negeri Kabangan memiliki tingkat `keaktifan peserta didik yang rendah sehingga hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi tujuan pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan penerapan Problem Based Learning berbantu Wordwall.. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif dengan subjek penelitian pada peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri Kabangan 1) Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, penelitian dilakukan dengn 3 siklus dengan masing-masing siklus terdapat satu pertemuan pada setiap siklusnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dengan berbantu Wordwall  di SD Negeri  Kabangan  Kelas IV dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis, kreativitas dan keaktifan peserta didik.

Abstract

This study discusses the problems experienced by third-grade elementary school students in writing sentences, particularly in the use of capital letters and punctuation marks. Writing skills are an essential part of mastering the Indonesian language, yet many students still make fundamental errors that hinder their ability to construct sentences correctly and according to language rules. The aim of this study is to identify the most common types of errors made by students and the factors that contribute to these errors. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, document analysis of students’ written work, and interviews with classroom teachers. The results show that most students struggle with using capital letters at the beginning of sentences, in writing names of people and places, and often misuse punctuation marks such as periods, commas, question marks, and exlamation marks. The main contributing factors include a lack of understanding of the Enhanced Spelling System (EYD), limited structured writing practice, and teaching methods that do not sufficiently emphasize mechanical aspects of writing. This study recommends the implementation of more contextual and interactive learning approaches to help students better understand and consistently apply correct usage of capital letters and punctuation in their writing. With a solid understanding of linguistic rules, students’ writing skills are expected to improve significantly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how visual literacy strategies to overcome the crisis of reading interest and reading skills of elementary school students. This research uses a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach to analyse various studies that discuss visual literacy and its impact on students' interest in reading in primary schools. He research findings show that visual literacy is very effective in Indonesian language learning, especially in overcoming the reading interest crisis that is commonly found in primary schools. The implementation of visual literacy allows students to learn more interactively, exploratively, and collaboratively, which in turn increases the overall effectiveness of learning. This research suggests that the implementation of visual literacy strategies in Indonesian language learning can be an effective solution to overcome the reading interest crisis in primary schools. By integrating visual media into educational practice, educators can create a more engaging and interactive learning environment that promotes literacy development and critical thinking. This approach not only addresses the issue of reading interest but also helps develop students' cognitive and analytical skills, which are essential for academic success and lifelong learning.

Abstract

Reading ability is a basic skill that must be mastered by elementary school students to support learning success. However, in practice, misconceptions are still found in students related to reading comprehension, which is often misinterpreted as just pronouncing texts. This study aims to identify forms of misconceptions in reading skills of grade IV elementary school students, analyze the causes, and formulate improvement strategies. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects of grade IV students and class teachers at SDN 2 Pagutan. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that students experienced misconceptions in understanding the nature of reading, such as difficulty in determining the main idea, answering questions only literally, and being unable to distinguish between facts and opinions in the text. Factors causing misconceptions include the teacher's learning approach which is still technical, the minimal use of varied learning media, and practice questions that do not stimulate critical understanding. Therefore, it is necessary to improve reading learning strategies that are more meaningful and dialogical, accompanied by gradual guidance so that students are able to become active and reflective readers.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools plays an important role in developing students' language skills. One of the essential language skills is listening. However, in practice, listening learning in elementary schools still faces several issues. This article discusses several problems found in teaching Indonesian listening skills at the elementary level, such as students’ lack of interest, difficulties in understanding spoken texts, and the limited use of technology in the learning process. The article also identifies several solutions to address these issues, such as the use of more interactive teaching methods, integration of technology in lessons, and improved collaboration between teachers and students. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the problems in teaching Indonesian listening skills in elementary schools and offer potential solutions to overcome them.
