Abstract

Abstract: Thai students have come and studied at the UMP (Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto) in Central Java, Indonesia. So, “Bahasa” Indonesia (Indonesia language) is needed as a communicative language to deliver lecture. “Bahasa” Indonesia has important role, either nationally or internationally, because foreign students are interested in studying here. The foreign learners study the “Bahasa” Indonesia as second language (foreign language) with the academic and practical purposes. BIPA stands for “Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing” (Teaching Indonesian Language for Non-Native Speaker) develops in UMP to fulfill the need of foreign students. The study was aimed at analyzing language aspect difficulties on writing paper and developing BIPA material to improve students’ writing competence. This article highlight the process nine Thai students on their writing process. The data were collected through paper and writing task in first semester. The mistake classifications are word reduplication, the usage of “n”, “m”, “f”, and “v”, English word, the confusing between “ng” and “g”, the affix mistakes, the mistakes of “a”, “i”, “u”, “e”, and “o”. Syllabus and BIPA learning material to support them understanding “Bahasa” Indonesia well. Abstract

Abstrak: Membaca penting untuk menambah pengetahuan dan meningkatkan prestasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pendekatan ESQ untuk meningkatkan motivasi, kebiasaan membaca, dan kemampuan membaca, untuk mengetahui perbedaan motivasi membaca antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen, perbedaan kebiasaan membaca dan kemampuan membaca. Peneliti melakukan eksperimen kuasi di SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto dengan menggunakan angket dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan ESQ mampu meningkatkan motivasi membaca secara signifikan (37%), kebiasaan membaca (37%) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol. Jadi peningkatn motivasi membaca (F hitung 78,827 > F tabel 4,05), kebiasaan membaca (F hitung 33,586 > F tabel 4,05) dan kemampuan membaca (F hitung 5,095 > F tabel 4,05). Peneliti menyarankan agar pembelajaran membaca sebaiknya menggunakan strategi yang menyenangkan sehingga akan memotivasi siswa untuk membaca, dan menerapkanpendekatan ESQ yang menyatu dalam pembelajaransehingga diharapkan bisa membangun karakter positif dan guru perlu menciptakan pembelajaran membaca yang kreatif dan inovatif. Abstract

Mastering Indonesian language is a crucial thing although it is not one of requirements to study in Indonesia. The foreign students need to speak in Indonesian language because people like to communicate in same language. That’s why many Indonesian Language Teaching Institutions for Foreign Students (ILTIFS) provided some services to conduct Indonesian learning especially in Central Java- Indonesia. This study is purposed to describe an effort to develop Indonesian learning material for foreign students enriched by local culture. Learning language means learning its culture, foreign students need to know local culture so they can communicate contextually and avoid from shock culture in early living here. The paper used qualitative description to explain four steps on developing learning material.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to train teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karang Lewas Purwokerto, Central Java to develop teaching media (videos) so that they can maximize online learning. Application for editing videos using Kinemaster with a laptop or mobile phone. The choice of Kinemaster because it is light and does not burden the cellphone or laptop, easy to install and easy to use online. The methods used are (1) introduction to Kinemaster, (2) how to download the Kinemaster application, and (3) simulation of using the Kinemaster application to edit videos. The material begins with an explanation of the differences between the Distance Learning RPP and the Covid 19 Emergency Curriculum RPP or one sheet RPP. The introduction of this information is expected to be able to motivate teachers to be more creative in designing online learning.

Abstract

Mahasiswa terbiasa menulis ide-ide mereka atau hal lainnya melalui media sosial seperti facebook, twitter atau WA. Kita tidak dapat menghindar dari perkembangan teknologi tetapi kita harus menguasai dan menggunakannya sebaik mungkin. Kemampuan menulis tidak diperoleh secara otomatis dan instan. Mahasiswa harus mengenal secara dekat pada jurnal dan literatur Bahasa Indonesia. Salah satu metode pembelajaran adalah inkuiri yang memberi kesempatan pada mahasiswa untuk mencari materi penyuntingan teks melalui jurnal nasional dan jurnal internasional. Membaca jurnal seharusnya menjadi rutinitas sehari-hari mahasiswa untuk menciptakan lingkungan akademik di jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia. Metode IPJ (Inkuiri Pada Jurnal) cocok memaksa mahasiswa belajar bagaimana menyunting teks dengan menemukan sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode IPJ efektif meningkatkan kemampuan menyunting teks mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research aims to know the implementation PBL based on technology on boosting students’ editing competence in University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The advancement of technology made changing in students’ habit rapidly. They rarely reading books or newspaper instead of cellular. Everyone can write if they read a lot of information. When the students can not write, they got difficulty to edit text. That’s why it was important to use technology on editing subject in semester 5 PBSI – UMP. The population was 79 students in two classes by random sampling class A as experiment class. The method used experiment by mixed quantitative and qualitative data. The instruments are questionnaire and test. The calculation showed sig. Levene’s test for Equality of Variances 0.264>0.05 means hypothesis was accepted. So, PBL based technology effectively improved students’ editing competence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of students' mastery of scientific vocabulary using digital-based crossword puzzles (TTS) learning media. The research method used is quantitative research. This study used the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) instrument, observation sheets, documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Data obtained through tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires. From the results of the initial conditions for learning discussion texts before using digital-based crossword puzzle media, it was found that the initial conditions for students' scientific vocabulary mastery were still low or still far from the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set, namely a value of 72 and above. There are still many students who have not received a score of 72, namely 41.93%, while those who have scored 72 and above are 58.07%. The inability of students to achieve this KKM requires an innovation, namely the use of crossword labs crossword puzzles to increase mastery of scientific vocabulary in discussion text learning. So that there is an increase in value in one of the linguistic elements, namely mastery of scientific vocabulary from the previous results when not using digital-based crossword media in learning discussion text. After using crossword labs crossword puzzles, the results of discussion text learning on linguistic elements increased to 83.87%. From these results it can be seen that there are still 16.13% of students who still get scores below 72, while others get scores above 72. This proves that the use of crossword labs crossword puzzle media in discussion text learning can improve mastery of scientific vocabulary learners. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penguasaan kosakata kata ilmiah peserta didik dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Teka-Teki Silang (TTS) berbasis digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), lembar observasi, dokumentasi, tes, dan angket. Data diperoleh melalui tes, lembar observasi, dan angket. Dari hasil kondisi awal pembelajaran teks diskusi sebelum menggunakan media teka teki silang berbasis digital ditemukan bahwa kondisi awal penguasaan kosakata ilmiah peserta didik masih rendah atau masih jauh dari Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan yaitu nilai 72 ke atas. Masih banyak peserta didik yang belum mendapat nilai 72 yaitu 41,93 % sedangkan yang mendapat nilai 72 ke atas sebanyak 58,07%. Ketidakmampuan peserta didik dalam mencapai KKM ini membutuhkan sebuah inovasi, yaitu penggunaan media teka-teki silang crossword labs untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata ilmiah dalam pembelajaran teks diskusi. Sehingga ada peningkatan nilai pada salah satu unsur kebahasaan yaitu penguasaan kosakata ilmiah dari hasil sebelumnya ketika belum menggunakan media teka-teki silang berbasis digital dalam pembelajaran teks diskusi. Setelah menggunakan media teka-teki silang crossword labs, hasil pembelajaran teks diskusi pada unsur kebahasaan meningkat menjadi 83,87%. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui masih ada 16,13% peserta didik yang masih mendapatkan nilai di bawah 72, sedangkan lainnya mendapatkan nilai di atas 72. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media teka-teki silang crossword labs pada pembelajaran teks diskusi dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata ilmiah peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties experienced by students in writing inspirational story texts. The research method in this study is descriptive qualitative with an emphasis on case study research. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis technique which is performed to assess the characteristics of a data using a procedure with an analysis model and the results of a written test conducted. The subjects of this research were students of class IX B at SMP Negeri 1 Rawalo. The difficulties experienced by students were caused by the lack of students practicing writing essays, difficulty determining topics to be raised, difficulties developing writing frameworks based on structural patterns, difficulties arranging events into plots, difficulties making conflicts from selected events, and when writing an essay students tend to experience difficulty in constructing effective sentences. In addition, because in the learning process which is still conventional, it does not utilize digital media. This proves that students' difficulties in writing inspirational story texts are caused by students' lack of mastery in terms of text structure and conventional learning. One of the right media in the process of making teaching materials is by utilizing Google Web digital media. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out in the research results table, it explains that Google Sites digital web media can be used as a medium or learning method in the classroom, especially in the 21st century and the technological industrial revolution, with the presence of Google Sites digital media, it is hoped that students will be more interested in participating in the learning process fun and interesting and on the side of students. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menulis teks cerita inspiratif. Metode  penelitian  dalam  penelitian  ini  yaitu  deskriptif  kualitatif dengan menitikberatkan pada penelitian studi kasus.   Teknis  analisis  data  yang  digunakan yaitu teknik analisis deskriptif yang dilakukan untuk menilai karakteristik dari sebuah data menggunakan prosedur dengan model analisis dan hasil tes tertulis yang dilakukan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX B di SMP Negeri 1 Rawalo. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa disebabkan oleh kurangnya siswa berlatih menulis karangan, kesulitan menentukan topik yang akan diangkat, kesulitan mengembangkan kerangka tulisan berdasarkan pola struktur, kesulitan menyusun peristiwa menjadi alur, kesulitan membuat konflik dan dari peristiwa yang dipilih, dan ketika menulis suatu karangan siswa cenderung mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun kalimat yang efektif. Selain itu juga karena dalam proses pembelajaran yang masih konvensional tidak memanfaatkan media digital. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa kesulitan siswa dalam menulis teks cerita inspiratif disebabkan oleh kurangnya penguasaan siswa dalam hal struktur teks dan pembelajaran yang masih konvensional. Salah satu  media yang tepat dalam proses pembuatan bahan ajar yaitu dengan memanfaatkan media digital Web Google. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan pada tabel hasil penelitian, menjelaskan bahwa media digital web Google Sites dapat digunakan sebagai media atau metode pembelajaran di dalam kelas terutama di abad 21 dan revolusi industri teknologi, dengan hadirnya media digital Google  Sites diharapkan siswa lebih tertarik mengikuti proses pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan menarik serta berpihak pada siswa.

Abstract

Penerapan kurikulum merdeka di sekolah memberikan konsekuensi penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang bertujuan memberikan pengajaran sesuai kebutuhan peserta didik. Tes diagnostik di awal pembelajaran menjadi kunci supaya proses pembelajaran dapat berjalan sesuai amanat kurikulum merdeka. Kegiatan lokakarya dan pendampingan sekolah merupakan salah satu bentuk pengabdian yang dilaksanakan dosen sebagai salah satu bentuk Tri Dharma. Lokakarya dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan moda daring sehingga semua peserta dapat melaksanakan dengan mudah dimanapun berada. Peserta lokakarya adalah kepala sekolah dan guru-guru komunitas praktisi di SMP Negeri 31 Semarang, SMP Negeri 38 Semarang, SMP NASIMA, SMP Islam Hidayatullah, dan SMP Islam Al Azhar 14 Semarang. Kegiatan observasi dilaksanakan di SMPN 38 Semarang dan SMP NASIMA Semarang supaya dapat memastikan hasil lokakarya telah diterapkan sesuai target.
