Abstract

The burden of mental health problems is increasing, necessitating early diagnostic confirmation and intervention. Screening for mental health problems is a preventive strategy that can be carried out by trained community health cadres; however, cadres’ performance in screening practice remains variable. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of mental-health screening training on cadres’ knowledge and to examine whether demographic factors influence training effectiveness. One-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design is used and involving 55 community health cadres recruited via purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire consisting of nine statements to measure the level of knowledge of cadres regarding screening for mental health problems, the validity and reliability of which had been tested.Changes in knowledge were tested using the Wilcoxon Signed-rank test. Training effectiveness was assessed with normalized gain and compared across age group, marital status, and occupation using the Mann–Whitney U test, and education level using the Kruskal–Wallis test. Results showed a significant increase in knowledge after the training (p < 0.001). There were no significant differences in effectiveness by occupation (p = 0.640), marital status (p = 0.942), age group (p = 0.342), or education (p = 0.698). Mental-health screening training improves cadres’ knowledge, while the demographic factors do not affect training effectiveness. Studies with control groups and effect-size reporting are recommended to strengthen the inference.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi pendidikan mendorong penggunaan media interaktif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Di SDN 022 Seberang Pulau Kijang, pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam pada materi Al-Qur'an dan Hadis masih menggunakan media tradisional, sehingga diperlukan inovasi berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis web yang memanfaatkan game edukasi Wordwall di dalam aplikasi dengan model pengembangan 4D ( Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate ). Wordwall dipilih karena kemampuannya menyajikan materi dan evaluasi secara menarik dan interaktif. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan tingkat validitas sangat tinggi, yaitu 92,5% oleh ahli media dan 88,3% oleh ahli materi,penilaian praktikalitas mencapai 89% (kategori praktis) dan uji efektivitas menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test menghasilkan p < 0,001 yang menandakan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar secara signifikan. Dengan demikian, media ini terbukti efektif, praktis, dan layak digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran interaktif pada materi Al-Qur'an dan Hadis.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effect of the Inquiry learning model and the Self-Directed Learning model on students’ learning independence in the ICT subject at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 37 Pekanbaru. The main problem addressed in this research is the low level of students’ learning independence in the ICT subject, which is indicated by a lack of initiative, dependence on the teacher, and low confidence in expressing opinions. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The population of this study consisted of eighth-grade students, with the sample determined through purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a learning independence questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the implementation of the Inquiry learning model and the Self-Directed Learning model on students’ learning independence. The average increase in learning independence using the Self-Directed Learning model was 47.61%, while the Inquiry model showed an average increase of 35.11%. Therefore, the Self-Directed Learning model is more effective in improving students’ learning independence in the ICT subject.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas model pembelajaran Case Based Learning (CBL) dan Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Informatika di SMPN 1 Pekanbaru. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas VII yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, masing-masing diberi perlakuan CBL dan PBL. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi dalam bentuk pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji t, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua model dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, namun terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata motivasi belajar model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning sebesar 41,53%. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata motivasi belajar Case Based Learning sebesar 37,66%. Dengan demikian Model Problem Based Learning menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan Case Based Learning. Abstract

Environmental literacy plays an important role in developing students’ awareness and responsibility toward environmental sustainability, particularly in response to global ecological challenges. However, students’ environmental literacy levels remain relatively moderate, indicating the need for more contextual and meaningful learning approaches. This study examined the environmental literacy of science education students in relation to peatland and mangrove ecosystems. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants were science education students at Muhammadiyah University of Riau enrolled in an environmental education course. Data were collected using an environmental literacy test adapted from the MSELS instrument, covering four domains: knowledge, cognitive skills, attitudes, and behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that students’ environmental literacy was categorized as moderate, with an overall score of 139. These findings suggest that peatland- and mangrove-based learning supports environmental awareness, although more comprehensive context-based strategies are still needed. Evaluasi Literasi Lingkungan Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan IPA Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau pada Ekosistem Gambut dan Mangrove (GAMA) ABSTRAK: Literasi lingkungan memegang peran penting dalam membentuk kesadaran dan tanggung jawab mahasiswa terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan, terutama di tengah tantangan ekologis global. Namun, tingkat literasi lingkungan mahasiswa masih tergolong sedang, sehingga diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji literasi lingkungan mahasiswa pendidikan IPA dalam konteks ekosistem lahan gambut dan mangrove. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest–posttest. Partisipan penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan IPA Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau yang menempuh mata kuliah pendidikan lingkungan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes literasi lingkungan yang diadaptasi dari instrumen MSELS, yang mencakup empat domain, yaitu pengetahuan, keterampilan kognitif, sikap, dan perilaku. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi lingkungan mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang dengan skor keseluruhan 139. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis lahan gambut dan mangrove mendukung peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan, meskipun masih diperlukan strategi pembelajaran kontekstual yang lebih komprehensif.
