Abstract

The success of geotourism development is strongly influenced by the orientation (perceptions, motivations and preferences) of the stakeholders. An aim of the study was to analyze the polarization of stakeholder orientation towards geotourism development in the Mount Slamet and Serayu Mountainous areas, Central Java Province. Research instrument used a closed-ended questionnaire following the scoring pattern of "One Score One Indicator Scoring System”. The sample of respondents was 8 stakeholder groups with a total of 1,252 respondents. The characteristics of the stakeholder was analysed by quantitative descriptive, while the indication of the polarization of the stakeholder orientation was analyzed by using the one way Anova statistical test. Results indicated that the polarization of stakeholder orientation had a positive direction and scale of polarization was strong. This conditions showed that there is a gap in the value of stakeholder orientation which makes the performance of geotourism development less than optimal. It is necessary to improve the quality of collaboration and cooperation so that there is no polarization in the orientation between stakeholders to achieve the sustainable geotourism development.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of environmental education tourism in the area of Citic Seram Energy Limited (CSEL) is a design concept developed from the CSEL Study Tour program, which is an annual Citic Seram Energy Public Relations program sub-field of the Public Education Work Program that has been going on since 2009. This study aims to evaluate CSEL study tour activities as recommendations for developing environmental education tourism in the CSEL area. The method used is a survey method with purposive sampling techniques, namely sampling techniques taken based on certain considerations and objectives. Respondents in this study amounted to 40 people, namely participants in the CSEL study tour in 2013-2019. Data collection techniques use closed-pattern questionnaires with scoring. The processed questionnaire data was then analyzed using IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) to determine the level of performance variables of CSEL study tour activities. The study results show that the perception of study tour participants on the variables of CSEL study tour activities obtained a very high level of importance and satisfaction. This is evidenced by the average importance score obtained, which is 4.68 (very important) and the average satisfaction level score is 4.55 (very satisfied). However, the IPA Diagram shows that the Study Tour and Environmental Conservation Object Variables are in Quadrant I, meaning they are considered important but have satisfaction scores below the expectations of study tour participants. This is a recommendation to increase study tour activities at CSEL in the future.

Abstract

Sawendui Village, Yapen Islands Regency, has ecotourism potential Paradisaea minor jobiensis. One approach to preserving P. minor jobiensis is the development of ecotourism. Ecotourism development requires pentahelix stakeholder involvement, which consists of the community, businessmen, government, academics, and media, who have different roles, interests, and influences in terms of ecotourism. The objectives of this study were identify stakeholders, measure the level of interest and influence of stakeholders, and classify stakeholders related to P. minor jobiensis-based ecotourism in Sawendui Village. This study identified 16 stakeholders related to ecotourism using pentahelix grouping, qualitative and quantitative methods through data collection using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The Snowball Method was used to get respondents from each stakeholder group. Further study classified stakeholders based on their interests and influence as a pentahelix group. The research results showed that not all ecotourism stakeholders have high interest and influence. The community has the highest interest because they get many benefits from ecotourism, while the government has the highest influence because of its strong institutions. The community is included in the subject classification, the government is included in the key player classification, the media is a context setter, and the crowd consists of academics and businessmen. Increasing stakeholder interest and influence is needed to accelerate ecotourism development. Collaboration between stakeholders in ecotourism needs to be carried out. As a key player, the government has the authority to mobilize all stakeholder groups.

Abstract

Mount Ciremai National Park (TNGC) is a National Park (TN) which has enormous ecological functions, especially as a water catchment area. Forest fires in TNGC occur every year and fluctuated from year to year. Forst fires destroy ecosystems and interfere the function of TNGC. Anti Fire Community (MPA) is a partnership which consist of local communities involved in forest fire control. Community partnership will never succeess without the MPA’s participation. The research objectives are to describe the perception and participation of MPA on the forest fires control in TNGC and the implementation of MPA policies. This research method is done by questionnaires, observation and interviews. The results showed that MPA positively perceive that dry season as supporting factors and community activities that involve a fire as direct factors of forest fires. The public perception is not always in line with the participation. A strong perception does not guarantee a high participation, it might be the opposit (low participation). The highest MPA’s participation in forest fires control is in forest fighting activities. Affecting factors on MPA's participation in forest fire control activities are economic factors ie wage, logistics dan goods. Occuring gap between the ideal conditions and real conditions is 80,95 percent. Perceptions which is not in line with the participation and the emerge gap is suspected to cause unoptimized of forest fire control conducted by MPA in TNGC. Keywords: forest fire control, gap, MPA, particiation, perception

Abstract

Lokasi Purnawirawan (Lokapurna) is an area located in the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS). Lokapurna is an expansion area of TNGHS through Minister of Forestry Decree No. 175 in 2003. Expansion in TNGHS caused the loss of community access to utilize the land in national park area and it caused a conflict between community and TNGHS. The determinant factor of land use sustainability in Lokapurna is important to reduce land tenure conflicts between the community and TNGHS. The conflict occur because of misperception between community and TNGHS. Moreover, the determinant factors of land use sustainability were needed to know to determine land use policy strategy in Lokapurna. This study aimed to analyze the determinant factors of land use sustainability in Lokapurna and to contrive the alternative strategies for land use in Lokapurna. This research method using qualitative methods. The selection of respondents were conducted by purposive sampling with consideration of respondents who are involved directly or deemed to have the ability and understanding regarding land use in Lokapurna. The research data was obtained through closed ended questionnaire. This data was analyzed by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and processed using software Expert Choice 2000. The result shown that the highest determinant factor of land use sustainability in Lokapurna is environmental factors (0,472) followed by social factors (0,301) and economic factors (0,272). Moreover, the first priority of alternative land use strategy is collaborative ecotourism development (0,494), the second priority is the optimization of specific zone (0,378) and the last priority is community relocation (0,124). Keywords: land use, Lokapurna, Mount Halimun Salak National Park, priority, strategy
