Abstract

This study aimed to analyze influence of food photography towards eating out Sidoarjo community in instagram media. Data collection was done by using questionnaire to the respondents who visited the cafe/restaurant Mie akhirat, Kedai Kopi Medan, Wong Solo, dan Dapur M’riah that was located on Jalan Raya Ponti Gelanggang Olahraga Sidoarjo. Samples were taken through random sampling technique with total sample of 100 respondents. The result of this quantitative research showed that there was influence between food photography variable in social media instagram turns out to have an effect to the eating lifestyle of Sidoarjo community. The effect of food photography on eating out lifestyle was shown by R2 of 35.1%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perception of communication science students towards the Apple Smartphone brand as a lifestyle. This study uses the theory of Jean Boudrillard. Data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews and observations, supported by relevant literature by focusing on communication science students at the Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo university. The method used is purposive sampling, this technique uses informants who have been determined or have predetermined criteria to support this research. The results of the discussion above can be concluded that students' perceptions of smartphones as a lifestyle are divided into the following processes, one, perceptual selection occurs when students remember that iPhone users will look more visible or high-class than other smartphone users, and make users more confident. Second, the student perception organization collects information from various sources to be understood in order to consider whether to buy or not, so that they will not be disappointed with the items they buy. Third, the interpretation of the stimulus describes the meaning of the Apple smartphone as a brand that provides an identity for its users.

Abstract

This study shows that the pattern of communication between teachers and students in shaping the character of students in grades 1-4 of SDI A-Education, Ketawang Jogosatru Village, Sidoarjo Regency is a pattern of interpersonal communication. This is evidenced by the practice of the elements of interpersonal communication patterns in the communication that exists between teachers and students towards the character formation of students in grades 1-4 of SDI A-Education, Ketawang Jogosatru Village, Sidoarjo Regency. As with quotations, communication patterns are simply divided into two. The first is a positive communication pattern, which is communication that can certainly bring positive outputs such as cooperative attitude, tolerance, sincerity, understanding and cooperation. Second, the negative communication pattern which is communication can certainly bring negative impacts such as hatred, doubt, misunderstanding, doubt, hostility, and revenge (West & Turner, 2013: 25). The pattern of communication is a form of communication process, so that with the existence of various forms of communication, and part of the process of communication will be able to find patterns that are easy and suitable for use in communicating.

Abstract

Didi Kempot who is better known as "The Godfather of Broken Heart" is one of the singers who makes campursari songs liked by all people. The song, entitled Pamer Bojo, makes young people love the Javanese campursari music genre. This phenomenon is interesting because more than 90% of the audience for this song are young people. The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Pamer Bojo so that it can embrace all ages. This study uses the analysis method of Roland Barthes by looking for denotations, connotations and myths. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of the lyrics of the song Pamer Bojo is representative of the pain of being left by his lover. An ex-lover's arrogance with a new partner makes the heartache worse. All ages have the potential to experience this heartache, including young people. Although the lyrics of the song Pamer Bojo are in Javanese, this song can still convey the message in the lyrics of the song well.

Abstract

This study examines how the public communication strategy of the Sidoarjo district government in minimizing the impact of Covid-19 transmission in Sidoarjo. This study uses the theory of communication strategy and public communication. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication strategy of the Sidoarjo district government in minimizing the impact of the transmission of COVID-19 in Sidoarjo. The research is descriptive and the research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques using interviews consisting of 5 people. The results of research that have been carried out on the public communication strategy of the Sidoarjo Regency government in minimizing the impact of the transmission of covid-19 in Sidoarjo are shown to the public, but in general on people's behavior in complying with health protocols, the public can also receive message information from various sources such as online media Instagram. , web and facebook. And also through print media such as banners, posters and billboards, the community also gets information about preventing and minimizing the impact of Covid-19 transmission from village socialization.

Abstract

This study examines how the interpersonal communication of the save street child community in empowering street children in Sidoarjo Regency. This research uses interpersonal communication theory with De Vito's educational approach. The purpose of this research is to find out how interpersonal communication between SSC community members in empowering street children in Sidoarjo Regency. The research is descriptive and the research method used is qualitative by using endid interview data collection. The results of research conducted on interpersonal communication of the save street child community in empowering street children in Sidoarjo Regency, showed that there was a positive attitude in the SSC community, being open to each other and the communication was also reciprocal. This is also in line with the communication between community members and street children and vice versa. In an effort to empower the SSC community, they first approach street children by giving milk, and the SSCS community also tries to make street children pay attention to the importance of education for street children, by establishing a program of non-formal teaching activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of persuasive communication of the Kali Pecabean Village apparatus in disciplining residents to implement health protocols during the Coid-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The object of this research is persuasive communication regarding health protocols carried out by village officials. The data collection process is carried out by means of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, then the data will be analyzed in three ways, namely data reduction, data presentation and finally drawing conclusions. The results show that (1) Persuasive communication of village officials in disciplining residents in implementing health protocols is considered very effective by the community because it has quite good changes. From changes in society that finally wear masks and avoid crowds. (2) The strengthening of the arguments of the Kali Pecabean community does not only come from communications made by the Village apparatus, but from public knowledge related to the increasing Covid-19 cases and providing evidence that Covid-19 exists. (3) The psychological attractiveness of the Kali Pecabean village community is influenced by the large number of people exposed to Covid-19 in the Pecabean River area, making it one of the factors for community change regarding the importance of maintaining health and implementing health protocol discipline.

Abstract

This research is based on the fact that many people do not believe and doubt the existence of vaccination for various reasons such as issues regarding health, vaccine development, the impact of vaccines and the effectiveness of vaccine types, causing different perceptions from each community. This study uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive approach. The technique of determining the informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that the perception of the Pucanganom community can be seen from three elements, namely the first Perception Perpetrator, from the results of this study it can be seen that most of the Pucanganom Village community accept the Covid-19 vaccination because vaccination is quite important in avoiding the Covid-19 virus and his party believes and enthusiasm with the Covid-19 vaccination. The second in terms of targets or objects, shows that they believe vaccination can prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Of the many types of vaccinations available, the people of Pucanganom Village believe that moderna vaccination is the best type of vaccination. The third, in terms of the situation, shows that the people of Pucanganom Village in carrying out vaccinations on their own consciousness, not through coercion. They realized the importance of vaccination from various socializations carried out by village officials. Information regarding vaccination in Pucanganom Village is clear, complete and adequate. In practice, these three elements show a good perception of the pucangnaom community regarding the Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

Public Service Advertising is an advertisement that is non-profit and seeks to obtain social benefits in society. In public service advertisements, the aim is only to convey information so that people do positive things. Public Service Advertisement aired by Liputan 6 SCTV in Implementing 3 M to Break the Covid-19 Transmission Chain. This study has several indicators, namely Sender, Message, Channel and Receiver. This research was conducted on seven students of Communication Science, Muhhamadiyah University, Sidoarjo. This researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method. with data collection in the form of a Group Discussion Forum. In this study using the SMCR theory of David K. Berlo. The results that researchers can show that public service advertisements must be packaged in an attractive, simple, informative fact and actual. In a subject matter that occurs and is fundamental. Therefore, the addition of interesting animations and ideas can add a non-monotonous impression to public service advertisements. So in the process of receiving the message will respond to an information depending on each individual.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to know implementation of law number 78 of 2008 on giving some authority from regent to sub-district head especially in Tanggulangin Sub-district. The methods of this research used qualitative discriptive. While, technique of collecting data through interview, observation, and documentation. Analysis data consists of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The result of this research showed that implementation of law number 78 of 2008 on giving some authority from regent to sub-district head didn’t optimal yet. Researchers still find the some important things should be given more attention and correction from the government of Tanggulangin Sub-districts level and government of Sidoarjo Regency.
