Abstract

This paper aims to find out the interest in social entrepreneurship in adolescents, especially UPI students in the Tasikmalaya area. Using qualitative method with a questionnaire to students of the UPI Kampus Tasikmalaya which was carried out before starting the Garbage Bank business. The emergence of this waste bank initiative is one of the efforts of students to tackle the problem of waste, at least for the campus environment. In addition to making students more concerned about the environment by managing waste, saving waste allows the campus to generate rupiah. However, along the way, there are many waste banks whose sustainability is not clear.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah sebagai penguatan pelaku usaha di Kota Tasikmalaya, khususnyamahasiswa setelah pandemi. Objek pelatihan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pelaku usaha di KotaTasikmalaya. Pengabdian ini menggunakan Metode Javelin Experiment Board untuk menganalisis sejauh mana pelakuusaha memvalidasi bisnis yang saat ini sudah berjalan. Metode ini banyak digunakan oleh para pengusaha rintisan sebagaisalah satu opsi lain selain metode bisnis model canvas. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa selama ini pelaku usahabelum pernah memvalidasi apakah usaha yang saat ini dijalani betul-betul dibutuhkan oleh calon customer. Hal inimenjadi salah satu penyebab mengapa usaha yang dijalankan sulit berkembang, terlebih lagi disaat pandemi. Diharapkansetelah mengikuti pelatihan ini para pelaku usaha mendapatkan pemahaman agar usaha yang akan dijalani bisa lebihspesifik sesuai dengan kebutuhan calon customer.

Abstract

This research aims to create an overview of business strategies, identify business strategies using the social enterprise model canvas and SWOT models, and formulate appropriate business social business strategies. The object of this research is the Rumah Harapan Kita Foundation, which is one of the social businesses in Tasikmalaya City. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The types of data used are primary and secondary with data collection techniques using observation techniques and unstructured interviews. Primary data was obtained from an in-depth interview process with the Rumah Harapan Kita Foundation, while secondary data was obtained from documents, websites, and foundation archives. The informant for this research is the CEO and Director of Entrepreneur of Rumah Harapan Kita Foundation. Data analysis uses the model analysis method from Miles and Hubermen (1992), namely: reducing data as a form of data sorting; processing data as data presentation; and verifying the conclusions of the data that has been analyzed. The research results show that the Rumah Harapan Kita Foundation's business strategy has not been structured systematically. Then, based on the results of the analysis using SWOT and SEMC, 8 SEMC elements need to be developed. So the formulation of Rumah Harapan Kita Foundation's business strategy is focused on the elements of customer segments, value propositions, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key activities, key partners, and impact & measurement.

Abstract

This research proposed a framework to identify the impact of social enterprise on local communities in Tasikmalaya. Research on the impact of social enterprise on society in dealing with poverty problems, has been carried out in different locations, but no one has researched the impact of social enterprise in the Tasikmalaya area. Therefore, it is necessary to research the impact of the existence of a social enterprise on the surrounding community and in dealing with social problems that occur in the area around the existence of the social enterprise. This research used qualitative methods by collecting data through observation and in-depth interviews with social enterprise actors and the surrounding community. The results of the research showed that there are four roles of social enterprise that can be identified in Tasikmalaya, and five impacts of social enterprise on the recipient communities are found. In general, social enterprises have a positive impact on society in economic, social and environmental aspects.

Abstract

Failure in a family business can result in interpersonal tensions and serious financial problems. Factors such as lack of planning, conflicts of interest and lack of innovation can lead to such failures. The difficulty in maintaining a balance between personal and professional relationships is often a major challenge in family businesses. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that lead to family business failure, evaluate the associated risks, and explore the recovery actions that can be taken. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive verification approach to collect and analyze data. The object of this research is a family business owned by a student family in Tasikmalaya. The results of this study indicate that conflicts of interest and innovation have an effect of 80.5% on the failure of family businesses owned by UPI Tasikmalaya campus students. This proves that if there is a conflict of interest and innovation in the family business that is not immediately resolved properly, the family business will fail.

Abstract

A company's progress is the goal of its founding, and the transfer of power can influence one form of sustainability. Successful succession is essential to ensure the progress of the family business. This research examines the influence of successful sequence on the better progress of family business companies. The object of this research is a chicken trading company in the Tasikmalaya area, PD Ayam Putra Kawalu, which has branches. This research uses quantitative and descriptive-verification approaches to collect and analyze data. Quantitative data were obtained from questionnaire surveys and interviews with family business owners, including branches and successors. The sample is a family business with a branch company that has experienced succession. The results from the hypothesis show a positive relationship between successful sequence on the progress of the family business and producing leaders who will contribute to the progress of the family business. The findings of this research will contribute to understanding the challenges and opportunities for successful family business succession that will provide progress for the company.

Abstract

Family businesses play an important role in the local economy. The role of succession planning and product quality innovation are key factors that can affect family business performance. This study aims to determine the effect of succession planning and product quality innovation on family business performance. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey as a data collection tool. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to family business owners. The conjecture of this study is that succession planning has a significant and positive influence on family business performance. This result suggests that companies with a mature succession planning strategy tend to have better performance. In addition, innovation in product quality also contributes positively to business efficiency. Family businesses that actively develop innovative products tend to achieve competitive advantage and better growth. Based on these results, it can be concluded that succession planning and product quality innovation play an important role in improving family business performance. Family businesses that invest in careful succession planning and prioritise product quality innovation are likely to continue to succeed and grow. Therefore, business owners need to pay attention to these important aspects to improve their business performance.

Abstract

Family businesses have unique characteristics as they are owned and managed by family members. However, family businesses also have unique challenges, such as family conflicts that have an impact on business development. This study aims to determine the impact of family conflict on the development of the Mulya Manggis family business. The object of this research is the Mulya Manggis family business. The method to be used in this research uses quantitative research methods with a descriptive verification approach in the form of interviews conducted in private and filling out questionnaires. The population used is Mulya Manggis family members and the sample used is family members who are directly involved in the Mulya Manggis family business. The alleged results of this study indicate that the impact of family conflict has significant negative implications for the development of family businesses.

Abstract

The succession process certainly has an important impact on the sustainability of the family business. However, in the process there are several obstacles caused by friction on harmony between family members in a family business. The purpose of this study is to determine the description of family harmony and succession in several family business companies, and to find out how much influence family harmony has on succession in a family business. The object of this research includes three family businesses which are Azka Loundry, Payung Geulis and Kelom Geulis. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive verification approach. Quantitative data were obtained using linear regression techniques. The population of this study was 35 people. This study uses a saturated sample where the population size is the same as the sample size. Estimated results in this study indicate that family harmony has a positive influence on family business succession. This research also provides insight into maintaining family harmony to achieve successful succession in the family business.

Abstract

Leadership succession in a family business is the process of transferring leadership from predecessor to business successor, this process involves preparing a successor who will take over leadership and be responsible for the family business. Ineffective succession planning will not be able to make a successor in accordance with company goals that will cause the company to fall. This study aims to determine the effect of successor readiness on the sustainability of family business. With the object of research of students of the Indonesian University of Education, Tasikmalaya Campus. This study used quantitative methods, with a descriptive approach and journal analysis related to sustainability factors in family businesses. Based on the results of the study, there are allegations that successor readiness has a positive effect on the sustainability of family businesses and provides useful insights on how families can improve family business sustainability through successor readiness.
