Abstract

Interpersonal communication between parentas and children is an important role in enhancing the self discipline of children as a person of character. When parents separate of distance with their children, thay have to communicate with their children whom is very difficult to controll them when children still lived with them. There are problems that caused by lack of parental supervision due to children can’t control their deviant behavior. This research is done for determining the effectiveness of long dictance’s interpersonal communication between parents and children as well long distance’s communication media which used University of Riau’s student whom are in Rokan Hulu.This research used qualitative methode with research’s location in Rokan Hulu. The subject of research is 10 parents and 10 University of Riau’s students whom selected by purposive technique. In order to obtain the data, the researcher used three kinds of data collection techniques, such as participant observation, in-depth interview, and documentation.The result of research showed the first, that the effectiveness of long distance’s interpersonal communication between parents and children (study of University of Riau’s students whom lives in Rokan Hulu), there is openess that shown by parents rather than children; then deeply empathy that felt by parents to children rather than children to parents; and being supportive (supportivennes) parents whom make children feel spirit and always remember their parentss’ advices; then a positive attitude (positivennes) of parents when giving the children confidence and showing affection to the children; and the last equality attitude to be fair among the children and give the freedom to the children in making a opinion. Second, this long distance’s interpersonal communication used the visual communication media such as cell phone. Abstract

Insurance is a product or service that is visible and there is no clarity of goods, therefore, the general public does not trust the insurance with a variety of things, such as a lack of confidence in the insurance, especially the old and procedures that are considered difficult to process a claim if a loss, and the rate high. PT. Jasaraharja Putera Branch Pekanbaru selling face to face (personal selling) with the aim to explain about the products offered. This study aims to determine the approach to personal selling persuasive communication strategy to improve customer on general insurance products of PT. Jasaraharja Putera, and knowing the techniques of persuasive communication in improving customers' personal selling on general insurance products of PT. Jasaraharja Putera Branch Pekanbaru. This research was conducted at PT. Jasaraharja Putera Branch Pekanbaru Jl. Jenderal Sudirman No. 258 Pekanbaru, Riau. This study uses qualitative research method with descriptive approach to data collection techniques are observation, interview (interview) and documentation. Informants in this study as many as 14 people are marketers and customers in PT. Jasaraharja Putera Branch Pekanbaru. Data were analyzed using analysis model of Miles and Huberman interactive data by collecting data obtained are then processed to be reduced, served to produce a general conclusion. The results of this study indicate that PT. Jasaraharja Putera Branch Pekanbaru in improving the customer on general insurance products using a strategy of persuasive communication by way of direct sales (personal selling) where marketers approach the strategy of psychodynamics is a strategy that focuses on emotional factors and cognitive factors with the message of persuasion, persuasion sosialkultural is changing customer behavior influenced by outside individuals or from consensus (a big boost), and the strategy of the meaning constraction is a persuasion by giving knowledge to customers through mass media. The techniques of persuasive communication by way of personal selling is done marketers to improve customer, using the technique of the yes-response technique is a technique in which marketers persuade its customers to respond to the statement that the prospective customer to answer "yes", do not ask if , ask the which is a way to provide a variety of offerings to prospective customers, and reassurance is marketers are prsikologis relationships with prospective customers.Keyword: Persuasive communication strategies, persuasive communication techniques, personal selling, and insurance

Abstract

A process that will always happen in an institution is a communication process. Through communication process information exchange, ideas and experiences. Communication between leaders and employees must always be honest and built based on trust and open attitude between each other to build spirit dan motivation in work.The purpose of this study to know the openness, empathy, positive behavior, supportive attitude and equality of interpersonal communication of leaders and employees in improving work motivation in the office of Dayun village. This research uses qualitative research method with self disclosure. Subject of research consists of one person leadership, three employees and two people as a supporting informant selected by using purposive sampling technique. This study uses data collection techniques interviews, observation and documentation research.Research results show that (a) openness, leadership and employees always emphasize that every existing and involved line must be open to each other without being covered by each other. (b) empathy, leaders always closer, give attention and feel that is being felt by employees so that employees feel cared for and can improve work motivation. (c) positive behavior, either employees or leaders never arise sespicion. Leaders always apply positive thinking to employees, so that employees can work well and comfortable. (d) supportive attitude, leadership and employees always support each other in any case for the achievement of the goal of providing the best service for community, and (e) equality, the leadership never distinguishes caste any degree between him and his servants. He imposed the same thing to improve work motivation and actieve goals.Keyword : interpersonal communication, work motivation

Abstract

Safe House is a program established by the Police Sector Sukajadi. The program is conducted almost three years, and still there from some people who do not know the safe house program. It is also shown that not all the people involved in the safe house program, and the participation of people from year to year has decreased leading to poor public perception of the police. Therefore, this study aims to determine the strategy of persuasive communication on the program safe house of the police, the elements of persuasive communication on the program safe house of the police to improve community participation Sukajadi and communication barriers persuasive police to improve community participation in the programme safe house.This study uses descriptive qualitative data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained are then processed to be reduced, resulting conclusions presented to the public. Mechanical election informants in this study were seven based techniques that researchers use purposive. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. As for the technical examination of the validity of data, researchers useextension of participation techniques and triangulation.The results showed that (1)strategy of persuasive communication in the program safe house through a strategy of psychodynamic by touching people's emotional, and communicating rampant criminal acts that result in material damage or lead to death the victims, persuasion sociocultural police participated on public activity (2)unsur elements persuasive communication on program safe house through persuader presence of some police personnel were less than friendly, indifferent and only standbay diposguard, persuadee public response to the program open or positive, the message is less effective, the channel used by the delivery of home home (door to door), stickers appeal, as well as direct communication (face to face), the feedback given community is very positive, (3)obstacle-barrier persuasive communication in the program safe house that social status differences in economic status, job title / position in the community, as well as their prejudiced this program only for imaging the police.Keywords: Strategy Persuasive Communication, Safe House, Participation of Public

Abstract

Programs are all things that broadcast stations show to meet their Audience needs. One of the programs on television is talk show. The talk show program that the public is interested in is DR OZ Indonesia, which provides information about the world of health. This research is based on Stimulus-Response-Response theory. The message (Stimulus) in this research is the information delivered by the speakers in DR OZ Indonesia program, the communicant (organism) of the students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Riau while the Response (Response) is the impressive DR OZ Indonesia show to the students watching behavior tips given by the resource person.The method used in this study is quantitative methods, data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires. The number of samples for this study as many as 96 respondents. Samples using Accidental Sampling.To know how big the influence of these two variables, the researchers used a simple linear analysis. For data processing questionnaire, done by using Program Statistic Product And Service Solution (SPSS) Windows version 19.The results of research on the influence of DR OZ Indonesia program with indicators (Hosts, Event Formats, Event Content, Frequency, Duration) to health knowledge (Know, Understanding 65, Application, Analysis, Evaluation) students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University obtained value regression coefficient in this study is Y = 21.791 + 0.606 X with a significance level of 0.000 smaller than α = 0.05. This means that there is the influence of DR OZ Indonesia program to the health knowledge of students in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University obtained by 18.6% and fall into the category of weak influence. The percentage indicates that DR OZ Indonesia program influences consumptive behavior thus H0 is rejected and Ha accepted.Keyword : programs, dr oz indonesia, health knowledge

Abstract

Online portal www.tripriau.com online portal is one of the online portal in Riau Province that has its own uniqueness. These portals contain local content and the potential of tourism in the province of Riau. Since its establishment, www.tripriau.com do branding strategy in order to build brand awareness or trust the reader to be known as a tourism-themed online portal. As the selection of brand name Trip Riau, Riau Guide My tagline, as well as the implementation of travel instagram photo contest. It aims to reinforce to the public if the company is a media focus on discussing about tourism in the province of Riau. However, along with development, other emerging online portal that also focuses the tourism content alone. This study aims to determine the branding strategy undertaken www.tripriau.com to build brand awareness as an online portal of tourism in the province of Riau.This study used qualitative methods to the theory of SOR (Stimulus-Organism-reponse). The object to be studied is the brand positioning, brand identity and brand communication. Subjects were 17 people consisting of the Director, General Director, Chairman of the Company, one journalist, Kasubbid marketing Disparekraf Riau, four followers facebook account, General Manager of Grand Elite Hotel Pekanbaru, two people Followers Instagram account, two speakers Trip Riau, two journalists from other media. Data collected by interview, documentation and observation. Mechanical analysis of data using interactive data analysis model of Miles and Huberman. Mechanical examination of the validity of data using techniques extension of participation and triangulation techniques. Mechanical determination informant used purposive technique.The results show if the brand positioning element consists of identifying excellence in a way to segment the audience, presenting news in the form feauture and using high-resolution images. Then select the appropriate competitive advantage by focusing bring many visitors and promote articles through social media. And communicate and deliver the chosen position by means of presentations and exhibitions. Brand identity elements that form the brand name selection, use the tagline, and the use of corporate identity. While elements of brand communication in the form of sponsorship activities, media partners and implementation of the event. Abstract

 The communication was stated to be effective if the stimulus delivered by the communicator can be developed and understood well by the receiver. According to Cutlip, etc. (2011), to see the effectiveness of communication in public relations programs, it needs the main principles. These are credibility, context, content, clarity, continuity and consistency, channel, and capability of the audience. One of the institution that implements public relations program, like campaigning issue to the public, is Department of Environment and Sanitation of Pekanbaru City. In order to help Department of Environment and Sanitation of Pekanbaru City to campaign their program to society, especially youth, they held Environmental Ambassador election. One of the campaign that was initiated by Pekanbaru’s Environmental Ambassador is #GenZHeTikYuk! (Generasi Z, Hemat Plastik Yuk!-Generation Z, Lets do plastic-free!). #GenZHeTikYuk! is a platisc-free campaign (bottle, glass, sachet, bag, etc), and focussing to reach generation Z (born in 1995-2012). This research existed to discover the effectiveness of communication of the #GenZHeTikYuk! program campaigning for a plastic-free generation Z in Pekanbaru. This research utilized a quantitative approach with descriptive types. The data in this research is found by questionnaires and library research. This research has reached a total of 10.304 peoples (the number of students from 12 schools who have been visited prior to the #GenZHeTikYuk!, the campaign, in October-November 2018). Then, with the Slovin formula, we receive 385 samples. The withdrawal samples technique in this research is proportionate stratified random sampling. The data was analyzed by a descriptive statistic. Based on this research, we get a mean of 3,5 for the seven indicators of the effectiveness of the communication that can be used. This shows that communication in the #GenZHeTikYuk! campaign is very effective in the campaign for a plastic-free generation Z in Pekanbaru. The criteria is based on scale distance of effectiveness judgment that be explained in research methodology chapter. Non-effective criteria is from 1,00-1,75 scale distance. Less effective criteria is from 1,76-2,50 scale distance. Effective criteria is from 2,51-3,25 scale distance. Abstract

The movement of people from one place to another is a common thing in today's times. Technology support and access to adequate transportation as well as the interests of the individual is the reason for the transfer to happen. Turbulent political conditions and trigger wars in some countries is one of the reasons for the immigration of people for seek asylum. Pekanbaru city is one of the cities that is much visited by immigrants with a reason to seeking asylum. Until September 2015 there were 300 people from different countries who inhabit the immigration detention center and of the number of 300 asylum seekers from Afghanistan were the most with 217 asylum seekers. they have to make any interactions with the other asylum seekers or the immigrants officers. The goal of this research is to analyze the communication patterns and to identify the verbal and nonverbal communication of the Afghanistan asylum seekers in the Immigration Detention Of Pekanbaru.This research used descriptive qualitative research metode, with the selection of informants using purposive sampling technique, which selects three informants, which is a KASUBSI Security of Immigration Detention Pekanbaru, and two Afghanistan asylum seekers. The data collection techniques are used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation.While,for the data analysis was refer to the interactive model of Huberman and Miles. Then, for checking the validity of data were using extension participation and triangulation techniques.The results of this research are showed that the communication patterns of the Afghanistan asylum seekers are divided into two; the first one is internalcommunication pattern which uses all channels outline. In this pattern, they can make any interaction and it will influence each other. And then In this pattern of communication with external groups, the leader will come out of the loop all channels outline and served as a translator for the group members and external groups. Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau Province, which has experienced an increase in population every year, this population growth has resulted in an increase in the amount of waste generated by its people. The Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih is one of the activities involving the entire Pekanbaru City community with the aim of creating a clean, healthy, safe, comfortable and beautiful Pekanbaru City based on Regional Regulation No.8 of 2014 with sanctions for violators. Socialization is one way of informing and inviting the public to follow the applicable regulations, in socialization of course requires the right communication strategy so that optimal communication goals can be realized. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication strategy of Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kebersihan Kota Pekanbaru in socializing the Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih.This study uses a qualitative method. The technique of determining the research subject uses purposive technique in determining informants. There were 14 informants in this study, namely the Head of the Capacity Building, Information and Communication Environment Section, the Head of the Law Enforcement Section, Heads of the Village and communities. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis techniques. To achieve the validity of the data in this study, researchers used participation extension and triangulation. Based on the results of research to identify the first problem are the communicator strategies in the socialization of the Aksi Pekanbaru Bersih, namely the sub-sector of Capacity Building, Information and Environmental Communication and the sub-sector of Law Enforcement. The strategy for determining the audience is the sub-district, sub-district, RT / RW, school and university as well as the entire community of Pekanbaru City. Communication messages delivered are in the form of informative and persuasive messages with language that is easy to understand. The media used are print media, electronic media, online media, outdoor media and social media. Then related to the effects of this socialization, people only experience changes in knowledge and have not seen changes in behavior from the community. Keyword : Communication Strategy, socialization, Pekanbaru City

Abstract

Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru is a five-star hotel that competes with two other five-star hotels in providing services and services. Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru certainly does not only offer a variety of facilities that can be offered to consumers such as other five-star hotels but needs to be considered in providing quality services from employees to consumers. At this time, the leadership of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru needs to support employees with interpersonal communication between leaders and employees to improve employee performance. Therefore, this paper aims to find out the interpersonal communication of leadership in improving the performance of employees of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru, which is seen from the attitude of openness, empathy, positive behavior, support and equality owned by the leadership. This study uses a qualitative method. Informants were selected using a purposive technique. Informants in this study amounted to 6 people, namely 1 leader and 5 employees of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, collecting data, presenting data, drawing conclusions and evaluating using data validity checking techniques, namely triangulation. The results showed that the interpersonal communication of the leadership of the employees of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru was quite good. The leadership always applies openness, empathy, positive attitude, support and equality in the characteristics of the effectiveness of interpersonal communication with a humanistic perspective in improving the performance of employees of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru. Openness is seen from employees who can ask questions to get information and open leadership provides information needed by employees. The topic of discussion when communicating is not only related to work but also about family and employees' past. In empathy, the leader is able to understand the needs of employees related to interests, desires and expectations. Positive behavior is shown by leaders by giving praise or appreciation to employees. Leaders are also able to be able to create a pleasant working atmosphere between them. The form of support provided is the provision of ideas, equipment (work infrastructure requirements), and a conducive environment. The leadership in treating employees not looking at the background and position of employees is a form of leadership equality. The language used by leaders when communicating with employees is informal
