Abstract

Employee performance plays a fundamental role in determining the achievement of corporate targets, making effective human resource management a necessity. In this context, PT Cahaya Optima Karya is still faced with several strategic problems, namely training programs that are not comprehensively structured, levels of motivation and work discipline that need to be improved, and the contribution of the work environment that is not optimal in driving productivity. The research method applied is quantitative. The sampling technique uses a census, where questionnaires are distributed to the entire employee population of 113 people. Furthermore, the collected primary data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach operated through the Smart PLS 3 application. The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that the variables of motivation and work discipline have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Although showing a positive direction of influence, the variables of training and work environment were not proven to be statistically significant.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of personality, competence, work motivation, and career development on job satisfaction among healthcare workers at JIH Purwokerto Hospital. This study used a quantitative approach with a non-probability sampling method and a saturated sampling technique, involving 127 healthcare workers. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, the F-test, and the t-test using SPSS software. The t-test results indicated that personality and work motivation variables had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Conversely, competency and career development variables were found to have no significant effect on job satisfaction among the study subjects. Simultaneously (F-test), all independent variables influenced job satisfaction with a coefficient of determination of 43.1%. Healthcare worker job satisfaction at JIH Purwokerto Hospital was more dominantly influenced by psychological and motivational factors (personality and motivation) than technical or structural aspects (competence and career). Hospital management is advised to continue strengthening character development and creating a supportive work environment to maintain the stability of healthcare workers' motivation and job satisfaction.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the effects of work discipline, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and employee engagement on employee performance in a manufacturing company. This research is important to understand how both psychological and behavioral factors influence performance in high-pressure and routine industrial environments. Methodology: The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 employees of PT Royal Korindah, Purbalingga. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. Results: The findings show that work discipline, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and employee engagement simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance. Partially, work discipline and employee engagement have a negative and significant effect, while self-efficacy and job satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Findings: The results indicate that excessive discipline and employee engagement may reduce performance, particularly in manufacturing jobs characterized by repetitive tasks and high work pressure. Novelty and Originality: This study provides new insights by revealing the potential negative impact of excessive discipline and engagement on performance in the manufacturing sector, which is rarely discussed in previous studies. Conclusion: Balanced human resource management that considers employees’ psychological conditions is essential to achieve sustainable employee performance. Type of Paper: This paper is an empirical research paper.
