Abstract

Maximum flow problem is one of optimization problems which aims to find the maximum flow value that is traversed in a network system. This problem can be solved using existing algorithms and linear programming. In the case of maximum flow, often the parameters used vary due to certain factors. \cite{agustini} designed the Robust Counterpart Optimization Model for Maximum Flow Problems by assuming side and flow capacities from an indefinite point to destination point to solve the maximum flow problem with uncertainty. To facilitate the search for solutions with large amounts of data, a Graphical User Interface (GUI) was made. GUI is a pictorial interface of a program that can facilitate its users in completing their work such as counting, making, and so on. In this study, the GUI was created using Maple software and used the Adjustable Robust Counterpart Optimization Model made by \cite{agustini}. Thus, the search for solutions to maximum flow problems can be resolved quickly and efficiently only by entering the data needed for calculations in the GUI.

Abstract

In real-world optimization problems, effective path planning is important. The Shortest Path Problem (SPP) model is a classical operations research that can be applied to determine an efficient path from the starting point to the end point in a plan. However, in the real world, uncertainty is often encountered and must be faced. Significant uncertainty factors in the problem of determining the shortest path are problems that are difficult to predict, therefore new criteria and appropriate models are needed to deal with uncertainty along with the required efficient solution. The uncertainty factor can be formulated using an uncertain SPP optimization model, assuming parameters that are not known with certainty but are in an uncertain set. Problems with uncertainty in mathematical optimization can be solved using Robust Optimization (RO). RO is a methodology in dealing with the problem of data uncertainty caused by errors in data measurement. The uncertainty in the linear optimization problem model can be formed by loading the uncertainty that only exists in the constraint function by assuming its uncertainty using the Robust Counterpart (RC) methodology. In this paper, we will review the literature on the two-stage optimization model for the SPP problem using an Adjustable Robust Counterpart (ARC).

Abstract

Flooding is a natural disaster that often occurs, it is not surprising that floods are one of the problems that must be resolved in various countries, one of which is Indonesia. Flood is very detrimental to the public because the impact could be the loss of material and non-material. A flood protection system is needed and must be managed properly. This aims in management of flood protection systems often requires efficient cost control strategies that are the lowest possible long-term costs, but still meets the flood protection standards imposed by regulators in all plans. In this paper a flood protection strategy is modeled using Adjustable Robust Optimization. In this approach, there are two kinds of variables that must be decided, i.e., adjustable and non-adjustable variables. A numerical simulation is presented using Scilab Software. Keywords: Flood Protection Strategy, Uncertainty, Adjustable Robust Optimization, Scilab Software.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought various problems into our daily life, and one of them is an increase in the volume of medical waste, which poses a risk to the environment and health. An evaluation of how optimal the supply chain management of medical waste as a whole can assist in the development of medical waste management and policy making.  In this paper, the  study on observing and reformulating the existing medical waste supply chain optimization model using Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) is discussed. This study is done by modifying the objective function and the constraints with considering elimination of the landfill tax variable. The resulted model is also a multi-objective optimization problem. To this end, the Lexicographic Method is employed to obtained the optimal solution. In this model, the most prioritizes that is considered in the environmental condition to the medical waste supply chain. A numerical experiment is done in this paper which it results suggests two things, first, the cost of medical waste processing is much greater than its revenue, and second, the waste processing through incineration is not favorable. Thus, it can be concluded that this study provides a modified medical waste optimization model and decisions in determining the combination of the amount and method for each subtype of medical waste to be processed by maximizing profit and the amount of waste sent to the landfill.

Abstract

This paper aims to find the formation with the best line-up of the Liverpool FC football team in the English Premier League in the 2020/2021 season. Researchers used binary integer programming (BIP) modeling to determine optimum solutions. The data used for this optimization is the rating value of the players recorded in the performance data from the previous matches. The optimum result of this problem is the selection of variables that are valued at 1, namely {x_1, x_4, x_6, x_8, x_21, x_28, x_34, x_37, and x_39} for formations 4-3-3 with a maximum value of 82.47, and variables {x_1, x_6, x_7, x_8, x_11, x_14, x_16, x_29, x_31, x_32, andx_42} for 4-2-3-1 formations with a maximum value of 80.04. The 4-3-3 formation is more effective because it has a higher maximum rating than the 4-2-3-1 formation.  4-3-3 formation is an attacking formation with a higher intensity of attack and faster than  4-2-3-1 formation that tends to defend moderately.

Abstract

In solving mathematical problems so far, Riemann's integral theory is quite adequate for solving pure mathematics and applications problems. But not all problems can be solved using this integration, such as a discontinuous function that is not Riemann's integration. Lebesgue integral is an integration concept based on measure and can solve finite and unlimited function problems and be solved in a more general set domain. One of the bases of this integration is the Lebesgues measure includes the set of real numbers, where the length of the interval is the endpoints. The alternative use of this integral is widely used in various studies such as partial differential equations, quantum mechanics, and probabilistic analysis, requiring the integration of arbitrary set functions. This paper will show a comprehensive bibliometric survey of peer-reviewed articles referring to Lebesgue measure in integration. Search results are obtained 832 papers in the google scholar database and 997 papers using Lebesgue measure integration in optimization. It can also be seen that the research have 4 clusters and 3 clusters respectively with scattered keywords for each cluster. Finally, using bibliographic data can be obtained Lebesgues measure in integration and optimization supports many of the research and provides productive citations to citing the study.

Abstract

Problems in robust multi-objective linear optimization are a class of optimization problems with uncertain data parameters which aim in the decision-making process to obtain the best results in certain circumstances by choosing various solution methods for the multi-objective. This research aims to formulate a multi-objective Robust Optimization (RO) model using the Lexicographic Method, then analyzing the existence and uniqueness of the solution. Furthermore, gap analysis on the topic was carried out using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta Analysis (PRISMA) method. Results in SLR, the analysis results also shows that the Lexicographic Method is effective in handling data uncertainty with the objective functions sorted by priority. The robust formulation with polyhedral uncertainty sets ensures the flexibility and adaptability of the model. Convexity analysis and application of the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) method prove that the resulting solution is exist and unique.

Abstract

The development of a sustainable circular agri-food supply chain for rural producer organizations is essential to address the challenges of food loss, agricultural waste management, and resource efficiency. This study explores the integration of circular economy principles within the vegetable supply chain of rural producer organization, emphasizing the utilization of waste as a resource through technologies. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes the current state of waste management practices, quantifies losses across production and post-harvest stages, and identifies opportunities for improvement. The findings highlight significant inefficiencies in waste utilization, revealing that daily losses result in financial losses amounting to 4-10% of potential revenue. A sustainable circular supply chain model is employed to analyze and coordinate the interdependencies and decision-making processes among stakeholders, ensuring efficient resource allocation, effective waste management, and the integration of circular economy principles to achieve sustainability outcomes. By aligning production processes with circular economy principles, rural producer organizations can reduce environmental impacts, improve economic resilience, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the agri-food supply chain.
