Abstract

The automotive industry is a key pillar of the global economy. At present, the level of public needs is high in the field of motor vehicle equipment and components, the automotive world continues to experience competition and quality problems in its growth. This paper describes a project carried out by an automotive component industry company, to analyze the problem of reducing product defects in the contact rubber silicone printing process. Problems occur in the printing process such as product malfunction, poor appearance, and incorrect shape. The data before the repair was taken from January 2021 to August 2021. After analyzing and making improvements with the Six Sigma method approach, the result was a decrease in defective products seen in September 2021 - April 2022 with a decrease in defective products from 18,088 pcs to 211 pcs or 3.9 sigma to 5.2 sigma. The results of the analysis found that the cause of the problem occurred at the level of the ink print in the container which was less than 6 millimeters. The problem was fixed by installing the sensor as mistake-proofing. So that it can increase the company's profit due to the decrease in product failure.

Abstract

Companies based on FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) need to increase productivity and improve efficiency in order to stay afloat to keep pace with the increasing prices of food raw materials as a result of global security geopolitical conditions and drastic changes in climatic conditions. One of the affected is PT. DUS produces the basic ingredients of fast food. The purpose of this study was to determine the most efficient production planning option in order to reduce the company's costs. The methods used in this research are Exponential Smoothing Method, Linear Programming Method, and Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) Method for Forecasting; The Economic Quantity Order method includes the determination of Safety Stock and Re-Order Point to determine the amount of Inventory, and the Aggregate Planning Cut and Try Method to determine production capacity with minimum costs. The results showed that the production plan with options for constant labor plans, constant inventory, and overtime resulted in a cost of Rp. 549,840,000.00 while the constant labor plan options, variations in inventory, and running out of inventory result in a cost of Rp. 1,548,350,000.00.

Abstract

The food industry is required to carry out production efficiency by minimizing production costs and maintaining competitiveness in the market. One approach that has proven effective in optimizing the production process is through the application of aggregate production planning. This research aims to design a compromise production planning strategy by considering various factors that influence production costs in the food industry, achieve efficiency, and reduce production costs significantly. This research uses an aggregate production method through a compromise strategy model approach to order data for a year. The research results showed that there were two production planning alternatives, namely the first alternative is variable constant labour with overtime, required additional production costs of IDR 338,080,241, while the second alternative is workforce variations, required additional production costs of IDR 301,229,167. The second production alternative can be chosen to be implemented in production planning due to it requires lower costs. Through this study, it is expected that it can provide a valuable contribution to practitioners and academics in understanding the important role of aggregate production planning in achieving production cost efficiency goals in the food industry

Abstract

Human Resources (HR) is one of the most important parts of a company, as the main driver to achieve company goals. The company requires a workload calculation to determine the workload received by its employees. The method used in this workload calculation is Full Time Equivalent and Rating Scale Mental Effort to calculate the workload received by employees of the solid packing department in each packaging process. The results of this study on the blistering, sleeving, IPC, sealing, and shippering processes are in the normal category with a workload value in the range of 1-1.28, while the cartoning process is in the overload category with a workload value of 1.60 . The results of the RSME value calculation on the blistering and sleeving processes get a weighting value in the range of 71-85 with a moderately large category, the IPC, sealing, and shipping processes get a weighting value in the range of 59-70 with a fairly large category, while the cartoning process gets a weighting value in the range of 86-100 with a large category. So it's necessary to add 1 employee so that the FTE value is distributed properly or the workload is normal and the RSME becomes fairly large.
