Abstract

Online-to-Offline (O2O) is a business model increasingly being developed and widely implemented by companies in Indonesia. Therefore, the research examines the factors influencing purchasing behavior in Indonesian O2O commerce through economic theories, namely Perceived Risk and Perceived Benefit. The research procedures were carried out using a quantitative approach, and the data obtained were analyzed with Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling. The sample data was selected using a purposive sampling method and collected through an online survey instrument from 248 millennial customers who had made O2O purchases. The results show that all exogenous variables had significant effects, except for Physical Experience, which did not significantly affect Perceived Risk. Meanwhile, Integration Online-to-Offline Information (IOOI) had the most significant impact on enhancing customer purchase intention. The results also showed that Perceived Benefits had a significant impact on customer purchase intention. This research offers a novel perspective by exploring how integrated customer behavior across digital and physical channels influenced purchasing decisions within the Indonesian context, where existing literature was limited. The results provide valuable insights for companies in formulating strategies to deliver effective physical experiences and IOOI. Companies should ensure that the information available across online and offline channels is complementary and consistent to maximize customer purchase intention.

Abstract

Preoperative anxiety is frequently correlated with anesthesia procedures, resulting in the anesthesiologist being the most suitable person to decrease the patient's anxiety through effective doctor–patient communication during pre–anesthesia visits. During anxiety, one of the body responses is the release of epinephrine to the blood vessel resulting in increased blood pressure. Objectives: To knew the correlation between pre-anesthesia visit anxiety and blood pressure before anesthesia procedure. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design that was conducted at Universitas Sumatera Utara General Hospital from September until October 2019. The sample was collected by consecutive sampling techniques, which meet inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study used primary data then was analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test. Results: From 67 patients going through elective surgery, there are 41 patients (61,2%) with mild anxiety, 17 patients (25,4%) with moderate anxiety, and nine people (13,4%) with severe anxiety. There is no significant correlation (p>0,05) between anxiety with sex, types of anesthesia, PS ASA and heart rate. There is a significant correlation (p<0,05) between anxiety with blood pressure and types of surgery. Conclusion: There is a correlation between anxiety during the pre-anesthesia visit with blood pressure before anesthesia procedures. Keywords:  anesthesia, anxiety, blood pressure, pre-anesthesia visit

Abstract

Vital information regarding the life and health of a patient is gathered in medical records. The electronic medical record (EMR) is the product of medical record information technology development. Electronic health records and other health information systems have the potential to be useful tools for raising the caliber and efficacy of clinical interventions aimed at reducing tobacco consumption. Electronic medical records are used by doctors, clinics, and health care organizations to track patient smoking cessation outcomes and as a smoking cessation support tool. Thirteen papers from the Google Schoolar database and the reference lists of the included research were used in the review. We looked for research that was written between 2010 and 2020. Overall, these trials discovered that only slight benefits were made by several doctor-recommended therapies related to tobacco use. Following modifications to electronic medical records intended to speed up the collection and management of tobacco use during medical visits, there seems to have been a rise in the documentation of tobacco status and referrals for cessation counseling. To maximize the potential of EMRs for extra therapeutic advantages and smoking cessation in hospital settings, more research is required.

Abstract

Electronic Medical Records have been introduced to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services, as well as patient safety. This study aims to review the impact of the use of Electronic Medical Records on these aspects through a narrative review. The literature review was conducted using three databases, namely PubMed, MEDLINE, and CINAHL, with the addition of Google Scholar for wider coverage. The articles retrieved were limited to publications from January 2013 to October 2023. The implementation of Electronic Medical Records improves the efficiency of healthcare services by accelerating patient data access, reducing administrative costs, and strengthening coordination between healthcare workers. However, although the advantages of Electronic Medical Records are seen in increasing the accuracy and accessibility of medical information, there are risks to patient safety, such as data input errors and the threat of data leakage. Overall, Electronic Medical Records contribute positively to improving the quality of healthcare services, especially in chronic disease management, collaboration between medical professionals, and real-time monitoring of patient conditions, which have an impact on the continuity and effectiveness of care.

Abstract

Background: E-cigarettes are increasingly popular among adolescents, driven by massive advertising on the internet, especially through social media. These advertisements often display modern and attractive images without including sufficient information about health risks. Social media influencers also play a role in strengthening the appeal of e-cigarettes to adolescents. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between exposure to e-cigarette advertising on the internet and smoking behavior among adolescents in Indonesia.Method: This study used a cross-sectional design with an online survey conducted over three months, from March to June 2024. A total of 625 adolescents aged 14–19 years participated in this study. Respondents reported exposure to e-cigarette advertising on the internet, which was analyzed by age, gender, social media used, and smoking status. Data were analyzed using logistic regression to see the relationship between advertising exposure and smoking behavior.Result The results showed that adolescents who were more frequently exposed to e-cigarette advertising were 2.3 times more likely to try e-cigarettes than those who rarely saw these advertisements. Instagram and YouTube were the main platforms where adolescents were exposed to e-cigarette advertisements. In addition, 50% of respondents reported seeing influencers using e-cigarettes, and 40.2% of them were interested in trying them. Most e-cigarette advertisements were also found not to include clear health warnings. This study confirms that exposure to e-cigarette advertisements on social media plays a significant role in increasing smoking interest and behavior in adolescents. Therefore, stricter regulations are needed for e-cigarette marketing on the internet, including supervision of the role of influencers and the obligation to include health warnings in every advertisement. In addition, broader health education is needed to increase adolescent awareness of the risks of e-cigarettes.

Abstract

The sentencing of premeditated murder cases in Indonesia has so far emphasized the elements of planning and the consequences of the act, but has paid little attention to the perpetrator's motive as a reflection of the degree of culpability. In many progressive legal systems, however, motive is considered important in assessing the extent to which criminal intent (mens rea) contributes to the quality of a criminal act. This study aims to reassess the role of motive in the sentencing of premeditated murder under Article 340 of the Criminal Code, and to propose an evaluative model that can be used to enhance substantive justice in Indonesia's criminal justice practice. Using a legal-normative method and a qualitative approach to twenty court decisions selected purposively (period 2018–2024), it was found that in 70% of cases, motive was not considered as a legal factor in the court’s decision. Motives were merely mentioned in the chronology without legal weight. However, in criminal law practice in Germany and the Netherlands, motives serve as the basis for classifying murder and determining criminal sanctions. This study developed a conceptual model that categorizes motives into three categories: rational-emotional, manipulative-opportunistic, and pathological, each with its own evaluative implications for sentencing. This study recommends that motives be integrated into national sentencing guidelines and incorporated into judicial training based on contextual justice. In this way, Indonesia's sentencing system can become more humane, fair, and aligned with the values of substantive justice.
