Abstract

The population density in the city of Semarang, which is the impact of the flow of urbanization, is in line with the high demand for transportation. This situation also creates a new problem for the city: traffic jams. Traffic jam occurs because the available road capacity needs to be balanced with the number of vehicles used. In addition, the people of Semarang City tend to use private Transportation rather than public Transportation provided by the city government, namely Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). This research was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of Semarang BRT in meeting the high transportation needs in the city of Semarang. The research results will show aspects of BRT that need to be developed or improved, thereby increasing public interest in choosing to use the public transportation provided. Several indicators of Semarang BRT service quality have been assessed as good, with the highest tariff parameter. This condition illustrates that BRT tariff determination can still provide good service for road users. Meanwhile, the parameters that were considered bad service were disabled facilities and pregnant women.

Abstract

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in modern times has become a prevalent issue in various parts of the world. The reasons are passenger appeal and expandability, high performance, and quality, as well as its buildability quickly, step-by-step, and ergonomics. With all this flexibility, BRT can provide high-quality transit performance over a wide range of geographic areas outside of dedicated lanes. This paper aims to find out the passenger occupancy phenomena of BRT in the main corridors in Jakarta. The hope is that BRT operators and regulators can optimally provide services for users after knowing the growing trend. The method used is to know the trend based on the graph of the number of BRT users in 2019-2020. The study results concluded trend of annual passengers has decreased by more than 50%, which is thought to be due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. While the monthly passenger trend will increase by 14% in November and December, this is a due accumulation of activities at the end of the year. Furthermore, the daily passenger trend is dominated by weekdays on Mondays, with the number of passengers 28% above the daily average

Abstract

Commuter Railways (KRL) is one of Indonesia's modes of mass transportation, especially in the Jabodetabek area. The existence of KRL makes it easier for people to travel, so it is necessary to emphasize service quality in following its users' wishes. This paper aims to increase KRL user satisfaction with KRL services and schedules. Questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents at the station and on the KRL. The data analysis method used is the Importance Performance Analysis method which is processed using Microsoft Excel. From the analysis results, nine variables are considered essential but still need to meet the expectations of KRL users, so they become the top priority. Then, seven variables are considered essential and have met expectations, so these variables must be improved. Based on the research results on the level of passenger interest in the Citayam-Tebet KRL route, an average value of 4.60 is obtained with an average level of performance of 4.11, which means that the variable is still not as expected and does not meet the satisfaction of KRL passengers.

Abstract

Traffic congestion is a major unresolved problem and a joint task of the community and the government. A high level of mobility will be directly proportional to traffic congestion, and public transportation is an efficient solution for dealing with this problem. This research aims to determine the public's perception of choosing public transportation along the Depok-Jakarta route. The data collection method will be carried out by distributing questionnaires online through social media. Respondent data processing is presented using a spider chart in Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that most public transportation users are millennials and women. This generation prefers the Commuter Line (KRL) compared to other transportation. Schedule accuracy, level of comfort and security, disability friendliness, adequate facilities, infrastructure, and affordable costs are considerations in choosing public transportation. The KRL is highly interested in using it and has a positive service perception.

Abstract

Road safety issues on curves are a significant concern in reducing traffic accidents in Indonesia. Roads like the Cibatu–Sidamukti route have sharp bends that pose serious risks, worsened by natural factors (heavy rain, slippery surfaces) and inadequate infrastructure (lack of signage, poor road conditions, ineffective drainage). Additional risks come from poor lighting and undisciplined driver behavior. This study highlights the importance of addressing curve-related hazards by examining technical (road geometry, surface quality, signage, markings, lighting) and non-technical (driver behavior, vehicle condition) causes of accidents. Using a literature review method, the study analyzes scientific articles, journals, and books to build a strong theoretical foundation and identify research gaps. The primary focus is evaluating curve geometry's suitability for driver safety, especially in tourist areas with high accident potential. This evaluation is intended to support recommendations for road design improvements and the implementation of necessary safety measures. The findings are expected to serve as valuable input for local governments and stakeholders to improve road safety.
