Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the merger of three state-owned Islamic banks on the capital quality and market share of national Islamic banking and identify the factors influencing them. The research employs a quantitative approach using monthly time series data from 2018 to 2023. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test, Wilcoxon Sign-Test and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results show significant difference in the market share of national Islamic banking before and after the merger, though there was no significant difference in the average of CAR. VECM analysis reveals that NPF, ROE, BOPO, and FDR influence CAR and market share of Islamic banking in the long term, while FDR has a significant effect on CAR in the short term. The merger significantly affects CAR but not the market share of Islamic banking, whereas controlling shareholders (PSP) decisions significantly impact market share of Islamic banking. Abstract

Background: Foot and Mouth Disease is a highly contagious disease in livestock that can cause great economic losses when there is an outbreak of the disease.Purpose: This study examines the characteristics and dynamics of milk production on smallholder farms in East Java after the outbreak of foot and mouth diseaseDesign/methodology/approach: The regencies of Malang and Pasuruan are the research locations because they are the centers of milk production in East Java. To obtain a representative sample, farmer households were disaggregated by farm location, with a total of 93 farmer households surveyed 45 from Malang Regency and 48 from Pasuruan Regency. East Java Province was recorded to have 282.364 dairy cows in 2022, accounting for 56% of the national dairy cattle population, making it the key region in dairy cattle production. Through a comparative analysis of key factors, such as feed management, labor efficiency, and animal composition, the study revealed significant differences in milk production between the two regions.Findings/Result: The study found that the number of lactating cows positively impacted milk production, with farmers in both Malang and Pasuruan effectively optimizing concentrate feed. However, labor management challenges in Pasuruan hindered full resource utilization, highlighting the need for improved labor practices. To sustain dairy farming in East Java, tailored strategies that address regional differences, optimize resources, enhance labor quality, and invest in disease prevention and farmer education are essential for increasing productivity and resilience. Conclusion: Policy implications highlight the need for targeted training programs, improved measures to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease (FMD), and better access to veterinary services to support farmers in adapting to FMD. Ultimately, strengthening resilience in the dairy farming sector is critical to ensuring the sustainability and productivity of dairy farming in East Java.Originality/value (State of the art): This study provides novel insights by not only analyzing the dynamics of milk production in these regions post-FMD but also by examining the specific factors affecting recovery, such as feed management, labor efficiency, and animal composition. This study offers a comparative analysis between the two major dairy-producing areas in East Java. Keywords: dairy farming, foot and mouth disease, milk production, lactating cow, resource management

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of religious values, profit orientation, and perceived risk on Muslim investor preferences in female-centered peer-to-peer (P2P) lending. It is situated at the nexus of Islamic finance, gender-focused fintech, and behavioral economics. The analysis underscores the increasing participation of investors in digital financial platforms that cater specifically to female borrowers. A quantitative method is applied, employing Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS) to analyze data collected from 212 respondents. The results indicate that religious values, profit orientation, and perceived risk significantly shape Muslim investor preferences. Among these factors, perceived risk exerts the strongest influence, followed by religious values and profit orientation. These findings suggest that perceived risk plays a dominant role in investment decision-making, even within frameworks guided by religious principles. This study contributes to the literature by integrating religious, economic, and behavioral perspectives to advance the understanding of investor preferences in Sharia-compliant financial innovations. The results highlight the importance for fintech platforms to align strategic design with investor perceptions of risk and religious adherence to foster greater engagement in female-centered P2P lending.

Abstract

The development of tourism villages in Bogor Regency, particularly in Sukajadi Village, Tamansari District, confronts various challenges, encompassing issues about establishing local tourism management institutions, small-scale business development, promotional strategies, product packaging, and environmental sustainability. These challenges are addressed through the implementation of the Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM) initiative within the framework of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in collaboration with the Tourism Awareness Group (Sukajadi Village) as the partnering institution. The objectives of the PKM CBT endeavour are as follows: 1) To enhance tourism awareness among Sukajadi village residents; 2) To augment the capacity of the Pokdarwis institution in effectively managing the tourism potential of Sukajadi Village as a CBT destination; 3) To improve the proficiency in crafting promotional content for tourist attractions to reach individuals beyond Bogor Regency and City; and 4) To enhance the skills in packaging products of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to render them more appealing as flagship offerings. The conducted activities encompass 1) The execution of the CBT Development Workshop involving diverse representatives of community figures; 2) The House Charm Competition targeting the general public; 3) Training sessions on the Analysis of SME and Village Tourism Potential with the participation of Pokdarwis management and community figures and; and 4) Training on the packaging of tourism products for SMEs, coupled with the promotion of CBT to Pokdarwis management. The outcomes of this PKM initiative reveal an elevation in knowledge, attitudes, and competencies related to tourism management among Pokdarwis administrators. At the institutional level, PKM serves to enhance the planning capabilities of Pokdarwis in the development of community-based tourism and the promotion of tourism initiatives. This, in turn, is anticipated to positively impact the local community's income through CBT enterprises and foster a heightened awareness of tourism among the general public.

Abstract

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak in 2022 reportedly led to a significant decrease in cow milk production, resulting in major changes to supply chain. Therefore, this study aims to determine the current supply chain performance of dairy milk at Bogor Dairy Farm Cooperative (BDFC) using Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) metric. A quantitative descriptive method was used, and data were collected through field observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Furthermore, the data were analyzed using SCOR metric. The results showed that the currentsupply chain performance comprised several entities, including cow milk suppliers (152 dairy farmers),cooperative, 3 manufacturers (milk processing industries), and end consumers. The time required by BDFC to distribute cow milk to processing industries was relatively fast (around 2 hours) due to the perishable nature. The calculation of supply chain performance yielded positive results, with SCOR metric achieving perfect order-fulfillment (POF) value of 86.9% andorder fulfillment cycle time (OFCT) of 2 days.Meanwhile, the cost of goods sold (COGS) value was 42.3%, with cash-to-cash cycle time (CTCCT) of 2 days.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the productivity and feed efficiency of laying hens through a comparative analysis of two commercial feed types, Feed A and Feed B. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing independent samples t-test and Revenue to Cost (R/C) ratio analysis. Sample size was determined using Slovin's formula based on uniform criteria of flock size, age, and cage dimensions, resulting in a minimum requirement of 385 hens. To improve accuracy, 2952 Lohmann Brown hens (35–54 weeks old) were used, distributed equally in two cages of 1476 hens each. Key performance indicators included Hen Day Production (HDP), egg mass (g/hen/week), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and net income. The results showed that Feed B provided better performance across all metrics. HDP for Feed B reached 91.49%, higher than Feed A at 88.75%. Total egg mass produced per cage for Feed B was 1638 kg, exceeding Feed A at 1554 kg. Feed B also recorded a more favorable FCR (2.14 vs. 2.25), indicating more efficient feed utilization. Economically, although Feed B was slightly more expensive (IDR 6,352/kg) than Feed A (IDR 6,268/kg), it generated a higher net income of IDR 6,434,870 for the total flock (2952 hens) over the study period. The R/C ratio for Feed B was 1.21, compared to 1.15 for Feed A, indicating relatively greater profitability. These findings suggest that Feed B is a more efficient and economically advantageous option for commercial layer operations aiming to optimize productivity and returns.
