Abstract

This study investigates the influence of World Development Indicators (WDI) on the Human Development Index (HDI) within the regional context of Asian countries. Understanding the interaction between these indicators and HDI holds strategic relevance for enhancing the formulation of evidence-based development policies. The analysis focuses on five key indicators: population growth, voice and accountability, government effectiveness, GDP per capita growth, and control of corruption. These variables represent essential dimensions of governance and socioeconomic advancement. The dataset comprises information from 46 Asian countries sourced from the World Bank. The methodological framework integrates multiple linear regression to evaluate the magnitude of each variable’s contribution to HDI. The Preference Selection Index (PSI) is utilized to establish a performance-based ranking of countries grounded in the selected indicators. Results demonstrate that population growth and government effectiveness have significant impacts on HDI outcomes, while the remaining variables exhibit no statistically significant effects. Comparative analysis using PSI reveals inconsistencies between development indicator values and actual HDI positions. South Korea shows the highest consistency between quantitative rankings and HDI classification. These findings offer practical insights for policy prioritization by identifying the most influential determinants of human development in the region. The study emphasizes the importance of tailored development strategies and encourages future research to strengthen model robustness through control variable inclusion, sensitivity analysis, and non-linear modeling approaches.

Abstract

This study explores the application of the Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) for modeling fracture behavior, utilizing COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 to simulate a homogeneous concrete medium without embedded reinforcement. The computational model incorporates key parameters such as stress ratio (Young’s modulus of 137.9 MPa), lateral strain from axial loading (Poisson’s ratio of 0.17), concrete density of 2.4 g/cm³, and a crack growth rate governed by Paris’ law. The simulation results show a maximum stress intensity factor ( ) of 66.2 and a failure point occurring after approximately 22,568 load cycles. A mixture comprising 25% clamshell ash and lime was used as a sustainable cement substitute, achieving a maximum compressive strength of 20.53 MPa—meeting the structural concrete standard. These findings contribute to enhancing predictive fracture models and promoting sustainable material innovation in civil engineering.

Abstract

Clustering is one of the roles in data mining which is very popularly used for data problems in solving everyday problems. Various algorithms and methods can support clustering such as Apriori. The Apriori algorithm is an algorithm that applies unsupervised learning in completing association and clustering tasks so that the Apriori algorithm is able to complete clustering analysis in Uninhabitable Houses and gain new knowledge about associations. Where the results show that the combination of 2 itemsets with a tendency value for Gas Stove fuel of 3 kg and the installed power meter for the attribute item criteria results in a minimum support value of 77% and a minimum confidence value of 87%. This proves that a priori is capable of clustering Uninhabitable Houses to help government work programs.
