Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the needs for developing a semiotic-based Augmented Reality (AR) learning medium to enhance numeracy literacy among deaf students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed through open-ended questionnaires and interviews involving teachers at Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri Branjangan, Jember Regency, Indonesia. The findings indicate that although 50% of teachers are familiar with AR technology, all participants expressed a strong need and enthusiasm for its implementation in numeracy instruction. Teachers perceived that the visual, interactive, and semiotic features of AR can transform abstract mathematical concepts into concrete and meaningful learning experiences that align with the visual learning strengths of deaf students. The study also revealed that color, animation, and three-dimensional visualization significantly enhance students’ attention and conceptual understanding. The integration of semiotic principles—icons, indices, and symbols—into AR design enables the representation of mathematical meaning through visual signs that are easily accessible and interpretable. This approach bridges the gap between symbolic understanding and experiential learning in mathematics. The findings highlight the significant potential of AR not only as a technological innovation but also as a semiotic learning environment that supports inclusive education for students with hearing impairments. Moreover, these results provide a theoretical and practical foundation for teacher training programs on the use of AR-based technology in special education contexts.Keywords: augmented reality, deaf learners, inclusive education, numeracy literacy semiotics.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan media pembelajaran Augmented Reality (AR) berbasis semiotik untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi di kalangan siswa tuna rungu. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan melalui kuesioner terbuka dan wawancara yang melibatkan guru di Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri Branjangan, Kabupaten Jember, Indonesia. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun 50% guru familiar dengan teknologi AR, semua peserta menyatakan kebutuhan dan antusiasme yang kuat untuk menggunakan AR dalam pembelajaran numerasi. Guru merasa bahwa fitur visual, interaktif, dan semiotik AR dapat mengubah konsep matematika abstrak menjadi pengalaman konkret dan bermakna yang selaras dengan kekuatan pembelajaran visual siswa tuna rungu. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa warna, animasi, dan visualisasi tiga dimensi secara signifikan meningkatkan perhatian dan pemahaman konseptual. Mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip semiotik ikon, indeks, dan simbol ke dalam desain AR memungkinkan representasi makna matematika melalui tanda-tanda visual yang mudah diakses dan diinterpretasikan. Pendekatan ini menjembatani kesenjangan antara pemahaman simbolik dan pengalaman dalam matematika. Temuan ini mengindikasikan adanya potensi besar untuk mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan media AR sebagai inovasi teknologi tetapi sebagai lingkungan belajar semiotik yang mendukung pendidikan inklusif bagi siswa dengan gangguan pendengaran sekaligus menjadi dasar bagi pelatihan guru dalam pemanfaatan teknologi berbasis AR di sekolah luar biasa. Kata kunci: augmented reality, siswa tuna rungu, pendidikan inklusif, literasi numerasi, semiotik.

Abstract

This community service initiative was carried out at An Nahdhoh Islamic Boarding School in Malaysia with the main objective of strengthening students’ religious character and financial literacy. The purposes of this program are: (1) to reinforce religious character at An Nahdhoh Islamic Boarding School, Malaysia, and (2) to provide financial literacy counseling for the students of An Nahdhoh, Malaysia. The activities were implemented by delivering education on character building and financial literacy to the students. The program employed educational and participatory approaches, including religious lectures, group discussions, financial management simulations, and personal mentoring. The implementation process began with a needs assessment, followed by the execution of community service activities, evaluation of the activities, and follow‑up actions. The results show a significant improvement. Pretest and posttest assessments indicate that both religious character and financial literacy increased from a “good” level (score 3 out of 4) to a “very good” level (score 4 out of 4). Qualitatively, positive behavioral changes were clearly observed. The students understood what was conveyed by the community service team during the educational sessions on religious character building and financial literacy. It is recommended that a financial literacy handbook for students be developed for future programs so that it can be applied in daily life at the boarding school, enabling students to become proficient in managing their finances. Abstrak. Inisiatif pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Pondok Pesantren An Nahdhoh, Malaysia, dengan tujuan utama meningkatkan karakter religius dan literasi keuangan siswa. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah 1) untuk memberikan penguatan karakter relegius di pondok pesantren An Nahdhoh Malaysia, 2) untuk memberikan penyuluhan literasi finansial santri An Nahdhoh Malaysia. Metode kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan meberikan edukasi tentang pendidikan karakter dan literasi finansial santri An Nahdhoh Malaysia. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif, meliputi ceramah agama, diskusi kelompok, simulasi manajemen keuangan, serta pendampingan personal. Proses pelaksanaan dimulai dengan asesmen kebutuhan, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dan evalasi kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat serta tindak lanjut kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan. Penilaian pretest dan posttest memperlihatkan bahwa baik karakter religius maupun literasi keuangan meningkat dari tingkat “baik” (skor 3 dari 4) menjadi “sangat baik” (skor 4 dari 4). Secara kualitatif, perubahan perilaku positif tampak jelas. Santri memahami apa yang telah di sampaikan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat saat kegiatan edukasi pendidika karakter relegis dan literasi finansial. Rekomendasi untuk kegiatan selanjutnya perlu dibuatkan buku untuk literasi finansial santri agar bisa diterapkan dalam kehidupan di pondok pesantren sehingga santri cakap dalam mengelola keuangan.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah: (1) meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam manajemen pembelajaran digital, (2) membentuk kebiasaan hidup bersih siswa, dan (3) memperkuat pengelolaan pembelajaran numerasi dasar. Mitra sasaran meliputi 10 guru MI Darul Ulum dan ±60 siswa SD (kelas 4–5) di Nafisa Foundation. Metode pelaksanaan berupa workshop, pendampingan, penyuluhan. Program pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Mojosarirejo, Driyorejo–Gresik (1 Juli–4 Agustus 2025). Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre–post test, angket, observasi, dan wawancara singkat.  Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukan 1) pelatihan LMS berbasis Moodle meningkan keterampilan digital, sebelum kegiatan 100% guru belum pernah login dan 90,9% belum memahami pembuatan akun; setelah workshop 87,5% guru berhasil login mandiri. 2) Penyuluhan  personal hygiene anak usia sekolah dasar di nafisa foundation pada 28 siswa meningkatkan skor rata-rata pengetahuan dari 7,45 (pretest) menjadi 10,00 (posttest), perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,001), 3) Pada ranah numerasi, kemampuan perencanaan pembelajaran guru meningkat: penyusunan TP dari 3/15 menjadi 15/15, CP dari 4/15 menjadi 15/15, dan penggunaan konteks lokal dari 2/15 menjadi 15/15; sekitar 80% siswa melaporkan keterlibatan dan minat belajar yang lebih tinggi. Secara kualitatif, guru menjadi lebih percaya diri mengelola pembelajaran digital dan merancang numerasi berbasis aktivitas; siswa menunjukkan antusiasme dan praktik kebersihan yang lebih baik. Kegiatan ini efektif memperkuat kesiapan sekolah menuju ekosistem pendidikan sehat dan berkualitas. Kata kunci: LMS moodle; personal hygiene; numerasi; guru sekolah dasar. Abstract The objectives of this community service program are to: (1) enhance teachers’ competencies in digital learning management, (2) cultivate students’ clean and healthy habits, and (3) strengthen the management of basic numeracy instruction. The partner institutions include 10 teachers from MI Darul Ulum and approximately 60 primary students (grades 4–5) at the Nafisa Foundation. The activities consisted of workshops, mentoring, counseling. The program was implemented in Mojosarirejo Village, Driyorejo–Gresik, from 1 July to 4 August 2025. Evaluation employed pre–post tests, questionnaires, observations, and brief interviews. The results show that: (1) Moodle-based LMS training improved digital skills—prior to the activity, 100% of teachers had never logged in and 90.9% did not understand account creation; after the workshop, 87.5% were able to log in independently. (2) Personal-hygiene counseling for 28 elementary students at the Nafisa Foundation increased average knowledge scores from 7.45 (pretest) to 10.00 (posttest), a significant difference (p < .001). (3) In numeracy, teachers’ lesson-planning capacity improved: formulation of Learning Objectives (TP) rose from 3/15 to 15/15, Learning Outcomes (CP) from 4/15 to 15/15, and the use of local context from 2/15 to 15/15; about 80% of students reported higher engagement and interest. Qualitatively, teachers became more confident in managing digital learning and designing activity-based numeracy, while students showed greater enthusiasm and better hygiene practices. Overall, the program effectively strengthened schools’ readiness for a healthy, high-quality educational ecosystem. Keywords: moodle LMS; personal hygiene; numeracy; elementary school teachers.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the artistic supervision model in improving elementary school teachers' pedagogical competence. Using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, data were collected through observation sheets assessing teachers’ teaching competence. The study involved 27 fourth-grade teachers from nine elementary schools in Surabaya, selected through saturated sampling. The study employed the N-gain test using SPSS version 26 to analyze improvements in pedagogical competence. Results showed an average N-gain score of 75.56, indicating a high level of improvement after implementing the artistic supervision model. These findings suggest that the model effectively enhances elementary teachers’ pedagogical abilities. However, the study was limited to fourth-grade teachers in a small number of schools in Surabaya. Future research should expand its scope to various educational settings for a more comprehensive evaluation. Additionally, developing a web-based or Android application for supervision results could enhance efficiency in conducting artistic supervision
