Abstract

Background: Teachers in vocational schools play an essential role in integrating renewable energy education into the curriculum, but limited tools and knowledge in assembling solar panels hinder practical learning. The program aims to provide teachers with practical knowledge and skills in assembling solar panels. Method: This activity was attended by productive teachers of SMK in the field of expertise in Electrical Power Installation Engineering throughout the province of West Sumatra. Activities are carried out in 4 stages, Preparation, Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Follow-up. Written tests and practical tests are conducted to find out the extent of the teacher's ability to use solar panel trainers. Result: The result of this program is an increase in knowledge and skills, teachers in solar panel assembly. This program contributes to trained teachers, to provide an interactive and interesting learning approach for students in the use of renewable energy. Conclusion: This training program not only meets the needs of education in facing the development of renewable energy technology, but also makes a real contribution in creating human resources who are ready to work in the renewable energy sector.

Abstract

Perkembangani teknologi saati ini imengalami kemajuan iyang sangat icepat sekali. Duniai elektronika adalahi dunia teknologii yang sangat luas, ibanyak perkembangan yangi terjadi idari waktu ike waktu idan banyak isekali hal-hal iyang bisa idiantisipasi oleh idunia elektronika. HMI (Human Machine Interface) adalah alat yang menghubungkan manusia dengan mesin di plant dan digunakan untuk menampilkan, mengawasi, dan mengontrol proses yang sedang berlangsung, pengaturan timer, dan pengaturan kontrol PID dan lain-lain. Oleh karena itu dibuatkan sebuah alat yang bertujuan untuk dapat merancang dan membuat sistem otomasisasi pada suatu rumah menggunakan HMI, delapan driver relay, ESP-01 dengan sebuah Mikrokontroller Arduino Mega2560. Metode sistem otomatisasi pada suatu rumah ini menggunakan HMI, delapan driver relay, ESP-01 dengan sebuah Mikrokontroller Arduino Mega2560 diaktifkan menggunakan inputan dari HMI (Human Mechine Interface), jika fungsi button diaktif pada HMI (Human Mechine Interface) maka akan mengkatifkan delapan relay, dimana pada masing-masing button dapat mengontrol masing-masing relay. Setelah melakukan pengujian dan analisa terhadap sistem otomatisasi pada suatu rumah ini menggunakan HMI, delapan driver relay, ESP-01 dengan sebuah Mikrokontroller Arduino Mega2560 dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa sistem otomatisasi pada suatu rumah ini menggunakan telah dapat bekerja dengan baik sesuai dengan rancangan prinsip kerja dan hasil yang dicapai sesuai fungsi serta kerja alat.

Abstract

Era industri 4.0 membawa dampak otomatisasi peralatan pada industri. Tujuan dari otomatisasi produksi tidak hanya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi, tetapi juga untuk menjalankan seluruh sistem secara otomatis dan terkomputerisasi serta mengurangi human error dan merespon masalah dengan lebih cepat. Laporan Robotika Dunia mencatat 553.052 instalasi robot industri mengalami peningkatan sebesar 5% pada tahun 2022, dibandingkan tahun lalu. Penelitian mengenai sistem penyusunan botol minuman melewati beberapa tahapan, seperti perancangan, perakitan alat, pengujian alat, pengambilan data, dan analisis data. Perancangan berperan penting dalam proses pembuatan dan pengembangan alat. Mesin penyusunan botol minuman menggunakan robot kartesian, dual rod cylinder, vacuum generator dan suction pad untuk mengangkat dan memindahkan botol minuman dengan memanfaatkan sistem smart manufacturing sehingga dapat menciptakan suatu sistem yang efisien, cepat, konsisten dan otomatis serta dapat mengurangi human error dan meningkatkan produktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang diimplementasikan mampu mengontrol robot kartesian, silinder dan suction pad untuk mengambil dan meletakkan botol minuman untuk dibawa dari posisi pick ke posisi rak yang tersedia. Setelah melakukan pengujian dan analisa dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa robot kartesian memiliki akurasi yang tinggi sehingga dapat meminimalisir kesalahan dan meletakkan botol minuman sesuai dengan posisi yang telah ditentukan. Suction pad memiliki kekuatan yang cukup untuk mencekam tutup botol dengan kekuatan 2,826 N atau setara dengan 288 gram. Ini menjadikan mesin penyusunan botol minuman sebagai solusi untuk optimalisasi otomatisasi produksi yang dikendalikan menggunakan PLC.

Abstract

In the growing digital era, online academic guidance and counseling is a practical solution in supporting students in achieving student academic success. This article aims to explore the level of student satisfaction with academic guidance and counseling provided online by academic supervisors in the Electrical Engineering Study Program at Padang State University. The research method in this study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire instrument. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate a fairly high level of satisfaction from students towards academic guidance and counseling conducted by academic supervisors online. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for universities in understanding the needs of students related to guidance and counseling in the digital era. This research opens up future research opportunities to develop a more interactive and user-friendly platform to support online academic guidance and counseling.

Abstract

This research was motivated by problems found in class X TKL at SMK N 1 Bukittinggi. Based on the results of observations made, it can be seen that during the learning process students were less active, rarely asked questions or expressed their opinions and students did not develop critical thinking skills resulting in low problem-solving skills by students. To improve student this, the researcher tried to conduct research by applying video tutorial learning media to student learning outcomes in the Basics of Electrical Engineering subject at SMK N 1 Bukittinggi. Learning media is needed to support the learning process. One type of supportive learning media that is attractive to students is audio-visual media, especially video tutorial media. The advantages of video tutorial media: can be played back to increase students' understanding, will help simplify the learning process for teachers and students, make learning more interesting, effective, and efficient. This research is quantitative research using the Pre-Experimental method with a One Group Pretest - Posttest Design research design. The subjects of this research were all class X TKL students. Based on the research results, the average pretest and posttest scores were obtained using analysis using the N Gain Score in the medium category. Based on the results of calculating classical completeness after applying video tutorial learning media in the very high category. Based on the research results, it was found that the application of video tutorial learning media can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine student learning outcomes after implementing the Project-Based Learning model in programming and microcontroller application subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan. This type of research is initial experimental research (Pre-Experiment) with a one-group pretest posttest design. The research subjects were students of class XI Electronic Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan for the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 26 students. The research results show that the use of the Project-Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes. These results are seen from the psychomotor domain in the form of skills assessment sheets and student learning outcomes assessments in the form of pretests and posttests. Based on data analysis analyzed using the N-Gain Score formula, a result of 0.45 was obtained, which is included in the medium category. The pretest results obtained were 34.61% in the low category, the posttest results obtained were 84.61% in the very high category and the skill results obtained were 92% in the very skilled category. In this way, the Project-Based Learning learning model improves student learning outcomes in the subjects of programming and microcontroller applications.

Abstract

The enhancement of teachers' competencies in industrial automation technology is urgently needed to address the challenges of Industry 4.0. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the training program Industrial Machine Automation Using Human Machine Interface (HMI) in improving teachers' competencies at SMK Negeri 5 Solok Selatan. The research employed a One Group Pre-test Post-test Design method, with data analysis conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test. A total of 20 teachers participated in the training, which consisted of theoretical sessions, software simulations, and hands-on practice with HMI hardware. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants' competencies, with the average score increasing from 55 in the pre-test to 83.25 in the post-test (p<0.05). The training effectively strengthened participants' conceptual understanding, programming skills, and troubleshooting abilities. Furthermore, the program was deemed relevant to the technological needs of vocational education, supporting the integration of automation technology into the vocational school curriculum. This study concludes that HMI training can serve as a strategic model for teacher competency development, contributing to improving vocational education quality. Recommendations include conducting advanced training sessions, enhancing collaboration with industry, and developing project-based curricula oriented toward modern technologies.

Abstract

The Teaching Factory Industrial Robotics and Automation ( TEFA IRA) at Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) represents an innovative vocational education model integrating practice-based learning with real-world production activities. As an innovation hub, TEFA IRA produces laboratory equipment to support vocational learning, trains vocational high school (SMK) teachers, and enhances student competencies to meet the workforce's demands in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. This study evaluates the productivity of TEFA IRA by analysing operational processes, the impact of teacher training, student learning experiences, product relevance, and collaboration with industry partners. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques with data collected through observation, interviews, surveys, and document analysis. The results indicate that TEFA IRA successfully produced 25 units of laboratory equipment with a 92% success rate. Training for SMK teachers improved their technology mastery scores from 3.2 to 4.1 (on a 5-point scale), while 90% of students reported that their learning experiences were relevant to workforce demands. Collaboration with industry partners reached an active involvement rate of 87%, including contributions to technology and technical training. However, TEFA IRA faces challenges, such as limited specialised expertise, the need for updated training modules, and the optimisation of facilities. Support from Universitas Negeri Padang is essential to address these challenges through strategic policies, facility enhancements, and strengthened industry partnerships. Overall, TEFA IRA has successfully established itself as an innovative and relevant Teaching Factory model for vocational education in Indonesia. This program holds significant potential to be further developed as a pioneer in technology-driven vocational education with global competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement in students' learning outcomes and the percentage of mastery learning after implementing the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model in the Electrical Installation subject at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. This research employs a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subjects are 30 students of class XI TITL 1 at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest questions that had been validated by experts in the field. Before the implementation of the learning model, students were given a pretest (initial test), while a posttest (final test) was administered after the learning process was completed. The research results indicate that the implementation of the Student Facilitator and Explaining model in the Electrical Installation subject can improve students' learning outcomes. This improvement is evident in the cognitive aspect, as shown by the analysis of pretest and posttest scores using the N-Gain Score formula, which yielded a value of 0.66, categorized as moderate. The percentage of mastery learning also experienced a significant increase, with 90% of students successfully achieving the Minimum Competency Criteria. Thus, the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes in the Electrical power Installation subject.

Abstract

Free school lunch policies have been shown to improve student health and well-being in many countries. However, the implementation of these policies in low- and middle-income countries faces significant challenges, including logistical issues, budget constraints, and coordination among stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by countries that have already implemented free lunch programs, with a focus on the lessons learned by Indonesia in preparing a similar policy. This research is a literature review, utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. The study focuses on the 10 highest-cited articles from the Scopus database published between 2019 and 2024 that discuss the implementation of free lunch programs in various countries. Document analysis was employed to extract and synthesize key challenges and solutions. Findings show that the main challenges include difficulties with food distribution in remote areas, lack of sustainable budgets, and suboptimal coordination between the government and schools. The implications of the study highlight the importance of strengthening logistics infrastructure and improving coordination across sectors in Indonesia to ensure smooth implementation of the school lunch policy. Future research needs to focus on the long-term impact of the lunch program on academic achievement and innovative logistics models that can be adapted for remote areas in Indonesia.
