Abstract

Latar Belakang: Wanita menopause biasanya bermasalah dengan peningkatan lingkar pinggang yang disebabkan oleh obesitas. Lingkar pinggang dan kadar glukosa darah puasa berhubungan secara signifikan pada wanita postmenopause.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan lingkar pinggang dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa pada wanita menopause.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional pada subjek 55 wanita menopause yang diambil dengan metode simple random sampling. Data lingkar pinggang didapatkan melalui pengukuran antropometri, data asupan diperoleh melalui wawancara semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Analisis kadar glukosa darah puasa menggunakan Spektrofotometer Biolyzer 100. Analisis bivariate menggunakan uji rank spearman. Hasil: Sebagian besar subjek (81,8%) penelitian memiliki kadar glukosa darah puasa normal dengan rerata 108,8±4,2 mg/dl, sedangkan lingkar pinggang terdapat 60% termasuk kategori obesitas. Hasil penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara lingkar pinggang dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa pada wanita menopause (r=0,122, p=0,376).Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara lingkar pinggang dengan kadar glukosa darah puasa pada wanita menopause.

Abstract

The body image, mother’s education, family income, nutritional knowledge, eating behavior and iron intake among senior high school female studentsBackground: The concept of ideal body shape in female adolescent is tall and slim that oftenly to lead restriction of the food intake especially the food sources of iron that are considered as foods with high fat. This study aimed to identify factors association between body image, mother’s education, family income, nutritional knowledge, and eating behavior with iron intake among senior high school female students.Method: This study used cross sectional design, and it was conducted on female students at SMA Negeri 1 Tangerang Selatan. The selection of 80 subjects was performed by stratified random sampling technique. Data on body image was obtained by body shape questionnaire, family income, mother’s education, nutritional knowledge and eating behavior were collected by questionnaire, and iron intake was obtained by 24-hour food recall. Data were analyzed by Rank Spearman.Result: Subjects aged in 15-17 years old. The subjects had a dissatisfaction of their body image were 41.25% subjects and 40% subjects had deficit iron intake. Subjects had inappropriate eating behavior 47.5% and 66.3% were classified as intermediate level of family income. The level of mother’s education at SMA/MA were 53.8% subjects and only 7.5% subjects had good nutritional knowledge. The subjects had a dissatisfaction of their body image would be had inappropriate eating behavior so they had lower iron intake too. The good mother’s education of subjects would be had good iron intake, moreover the higher family income that increased food expenditure so subjects had adequate iron intake. The nutritional knowledge was not correlated with iron intake.Conclusion: Body image was associated with eating behavior. Eating behavior, mother’s education, and family income were correlated with iron intake.Keywords: Body image, eating behavior, iron intake ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Konsep tubuh ideal tinggi langsing menimbulkan remaja putri melakukan pembatasan asupan makanan terhadap sumber zat besi yang dianggap sebagai makanan dengan lemak tinggi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara  citra tubuh, pendidikan ibu, pendapatan keluarga, pengetahuan gizi dan perilaku makan dengan asupan zat besi pada siswi SMA.Metode: Rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Populasi adalah siswi SMA Negeri 1 Tangerang Selatan. Pemilihan 80 subyek dilakukan secara stratified random sampling. Data citra tubuh dengan body shape questionnaire, pendapatan keluarga dengan angket, pendidikan ibu, pengetahuan gizi dan perilaku makan dengan kuesioner serta asupan zat besi dengan kuesioner food recall 24 jam. Data dianalisis dengan korelasi Rank Spearman.Hasil: Subyek berusia 15-17 tahun. Subyek dengan ketidakpuasan citra tubuh sebanyak 41,25% dan 40% subyek mempunyai tingkat asupan zat besi defisit. Subyek dengan perilaku makan tidak sesuai sebanyak 47,5% dan 66,3% subyek mempunyai tingkat pendapatan keluarga ekonomi menengah. Tingkat pendidikan ibu subyek tamat SMA/MA sebanyak 53,8% dan hanya 7,5% yang mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan gizi baik. Subyek dengan citra tubuh yang tidak puas cenderung mempunyai perilaku makan yang tidak sesuai sehingga asupan zat besinya rendah. Subyek dengan ibu berlatar belakang pendidikan tinggi cenderung mempunyai asupan zat besi baik, selain itu makin tinggi pendapatan keluarga, maka pengeluaran belanja pangan makin meningkat sehingga asupan zat besi pada subyek terpenuhi. Namun pengetahuan gizi tidak berhubungan dengan perilaku makan.Simpulan: Citra tubuh berhubungan dengan perilaku makan. Abstract

Football athletes require high-quality physical fitness that affects achievement. Nutritional status was the outcome of dietary intake and can influence physical fitness. Athletes who boarded have an organized eating arrangement, so the dietary intake is more assured. The objective of this study was to analyze the differences of energy, macronutrients intake, nutritional status, and V2 max between boarding and nonboarding football athletes aged 13 - 18 years. A cross-sectional study was done in 32 people who divided into two groups (boarding and non-boarding football athletes).The collected datas included food intake using 6x24 hoursfood recalls, height using microtoise, weight using digital scales, BMI for Age using WHO Anthro Plus, body fat percentage using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, VO2 max using Cooper Test 2.4 km. Nutrient values were analyzed using NutriSurvey. Statistical analysis using Independent TTest. There were significant differences between energy and macronutrient intake (p=0.001), body fat percentage (p=0.004), and VO2 max score (p=0.001) of boarding and non-boarding athletes. Energy and macronutrient intake of boarding and non-boarding athletes were still in the deficient category; however, the average nutritional intake of boarding athletes were still higher than non-boarding athletes. Most nutritional status of athletes based on BMI/Age were in normal category (87.5% in boarding athletes and 62.5% in non-boarding athletes). There was no over in non-boarding athlete. However, there were 12.5% of boarding athletes in the over fat category. 25% of non-boarding athletes were in the under fat category, while in boarding athletes, none of athlete in under fat category. 62.5% boarding athletes had VO2 max score at a very good level, while 87.5% of non boarding athletes were in enough category. There were significant differences between energy and macronutrient intake, body fat percentage, and VO2 max score between boarding and non-boarding football athletes.

Abstract

Low consumption of vegetable and fruit in children was still commonly found. Appropriate and effective nutrition education methods are needed to increase knowledge and consumption of vegetable and fruit in children. This study aimed to know the effectiveness of nutrition education through socio-dramatic method of vegetable and fruit knowledge and consumption in children 5-6 years old.This study was a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control group design. Research subjects were 36 Taman Putra Kindergarten children who were divided into treatment group who were given nutrition education with socio-dramatic method, and control group who were given nothing. The improvement of nutrition knowledge was assessed by pre-test and post-test with pictured form, while vegetable and fruit consumption were assessed by 3 Days Food Record instrument. A total of 15 subjects had low fruit vegetable knowledge, and more than 50% of subjects had less fi ber intake, types of vegetable consumption <7 types, the amount of vegetable intake <250 grams, and fruit <150 grams. The provision of nutritional education through sociodrama method was effective in increasing knowledge of fruit vegetables in pre-school children (p <0.001), as seen from the increase in average knowledge of treatment group compared to control group. But unfortunately, nutrition education through sociodrama method has not been able to signifi cantly increase fruit vegetable consumption in terms of both quantity and type (p> 0.05).

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Wanita usia subur (WUS) terutama di Indonesia saat ini menghadapi masalah gizi ganda yang kompleks. Obesitas merupakan salah satu masalah gizi yang paling banyak dialami oleh WUS. Anemia merupakan satu sisi lain dari masalah gizi ganda yang banyak dialami di negara berkembang. Obesitas diketahui memiliki hubungan dengan anemia pada WUS. Tujuan. Menganalisis status besi pada WUS pranikah dengan status gizi obesitas dan non obesitas. Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional dengan desain cross-sectional yang dilakukan pada 50 mahasiswi Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Subjek berusia 18-25 tahun dan dipilih dengan metode systematic random sampling. Subjek terdiri dari 25 mahasiswi obesitas dan 25 mahasiswi non obesitas. Status besi diukur melalui serum besi, serum Transferrin Saturation (TSAT), dan Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC). Status obesitas dilihat melalui pengukuran antropometri persen lemak tubuh. Uji T tidak berpasangan digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan status besi pada WUS pranikah obesitas dan non obesitas. Hasil. Ada perbedaan kadar serum besi (p=0,027), TIBC (p=0,034), dan TSAT (p=0,004) antara kelompok obesitas dan non obesitas. Kadar serum besi kelompok obesitas lebih rendah, ditunjukkan dengan rerata sebesar 83,99±20,66 μg/dl pada kelompok obesitas, sedangkan kelompok non obesitas sebesar 99,2±26,03 μg/dl. Kadar TIBC kelompok obesitas lebih tinggi dilihat dari reratanya sebesar 420,98±47,22 μg/dl, sedangkan kelompok non obesitas 389,94±53,35 μg/dl. Pengukuran TSAT menunjukkan kelompok obesitas memiliki kadar yang lebih rendah ditunjukkan dengan reratanya 20,13±5,27%, sedangkan kelompok non obesitas memiliki rerata sebesar 25,99±7,92%. Kesimpulan. Kelompok obesitas memiliki rata-rata kadar serum besi dan TSAT lebih rendah serta rata-rata kadar TIBC lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Kejadian dermatitis pada anak terus meningkat beberapa tahun terakhir. Defisiensi vitamin A dan seng memengaruhi kejadian dermatitis terkait fungsi dalam sistem imun. Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis besar risiko riwayat asupan vitamin A dan asupan seng terhadap kejadian dermatitis pada anak di bawah lima tahun (balita) berusia 2-5 tahun. Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional retrospektif dengan pendekatan case control. Subjek yang diambil adalah balita berusia 2-5 tahun sebanyak 58 subjek terdiri dari 29 subjek kasus dan 29 subjek kontrol diambil dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan yaitu riwayat asupan vitamin A dan asupan seng yang diambil menggunakan Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), data mengenai personal hygiene dan sanitasi lingkungan diambil dengan pengisian kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Chi-Square dan uji regresi logistik ganda. Hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 79,3 persen subjek merupakan anak-anak berusia 2-3 tahun. Status gizi rata-rata subjek adalah normal berdasarkan BB/U, TB/U maupun BB/TB. Terdapat subjek dengan riwayat asupan vitamin A kurang (29,3%), riwayat asupan seng kurang (39,7%), personal hygiene tidak baik (46,6%), sanitasi lingkungan tidak baik (79,3%). Riwayat asupan vitamin A (p=0,0001), riwayat asupan seng (p=0,001), personal hygiene (p= 0,008), sanitasi lingkungan (p=0,021) berhubungan dengan dermatitis. Riwayat asupan vitamin A (p=0,019) dan riwayat asupan seng (p=0,043) paling berisiko terhadap kejadian dermatitis. Kesimpulan. Subjek dengan riwayat asupan vitamin A kurang dari kebutuhan berisiko 7,9 kali lebih besar mengalami dermatitis, sedangkan subjek dengan riwayat asupan seng kurang dari kebutuhan berisiko 4,3 kali lebih besar mengalami dermatitis.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Administration of resistant starch (RS) influences the diversity and the composition of microbiota as well as inhibits the growth of cancer cell. Banana as a potential source of RS has been reported. Although Musa paradisiaca has been reported to induce apoptosis in colon cancer cells, Musa balbisiana, which has low glycemic index and suitable for particular patients, has not been investigated yet.METHODS: Starches of M. balbisiana and M. paradisiaca were prepared and mixed with other components to make 3 types of mouse pellets. Mouse model for colon cancer was prepared and fed with different types of mouse pellets. Blood was collected and processed for measuring β-glucuronidase and malondialdehyde (MDA) with Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method. Resected ceca were incised to collect the inner part for short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) measurement with gas chromatography analysis. Resected colas were fixed and processed for immunohistochemistry to detect Caspase-3.RESULTS: Colon-cancer-mice fed with the M. balbisiana and M. paradisiaca starches-contained pellets had significant higher concentrations of total SCFA (p=0.003), acetic acid (p=0.000), propionic acid (p=0.000) and butyric acid (p=0.000); lower concentration of β-glucuronidase (p<0.001); higher Caspase-3 score (p=0.040); and lower MDA concentration (p<0.001) than colon-cancer-mice fed with standard pellet (control).CONCLUSION: M. balbisiana and M. paradisiaca starches could be suggested as potential anti-colon cancer RS. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pemberian intervensi gizi berupa edukasi dan konseling gizi pada atlet sepatu roda remaja terhadap status gizi, status hidrasi, status biokimia, dan asupan gizi. Penelitian one group pre and post test design yang melibatkan 11 atlet di Klub Sepatu Roda Kairos Semarang. Variabel terikat adalah profil antropometri (berat badan, tinggi badan, fat mass, massa otot, body water), status hidrasi, status biokimia (kadar gula darah puasa, asam urat, kolesterol, hemoglobin), dan asupan makan. Uji Wilcoxon digunakan untuk menganalisis perbedaan profi antropometri, status hidrasi, status biokimia, dan asupan makan subjek antara sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada berat badan (p=0,029), fat mass (p=0,003), status hidrasi subjek sebelum latihan (p=0,026), kadar gula darah (p=0,005), kadar hemoglobin (p=0,007), asupan karbohidrat (p=0,029) dan asupan seng (p=0,049) sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Program Asuhan Gizi Olahraga (PAGO) pada atlet sepatu roda terbukti berdampak pada perbaikan beberapa profil antropometri, status biokimia, dan asupan makan. Program for inline skating athletes as strategies to improve the profile of nutritional status, biochemistry and quality of food intakeAbstract: This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition intervention in the form of nutrition education and counseling for adolescent inline skating athletes on nutritional status, hydration status, biochemical status, and nutritional intake. Methods: One group pre and post test design research on 11 athletes at the Kairos Wheeled Shoes Club Semarang. The dependent variables were anthropometric profiles (body weight, height, fat mass, muscle mass, body water), hydration status, biochemical status (fasting blood sugar levels, uric acid, cholesterol, hemoglobin), and food intake. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze differences in anthropometric profile, hydration status, biochemical status, and food intake of subjects between before and after the intervention, Results: There was a significant difference in body weight (p = 0.029), fat mass (p = 0.003), hydration status subjects before exercise (p = 0.026), blood sugar levels (p = 0.005), hemoglobin levels (p = 0.007), carbohydrate intake (p = 0.029) and zinc intake (p = 0.049) before and after the intervention. Sports Nutrition Care Programme to inline skates athletes is proven to have an impact on anthropometric profile, biochemical status, and intake.

Abstract

Anak usia dini merupakan anak yang berusia 0-6 tahun. Pada masa tersebut merupakan masa keemasan atau yang disebut golden age, dimana pada masa tersebut terjadi pertumbuhan yang sangat pesat. Pemantauan perkembangan anak pada rentang usia tersebut sangatlah penting, sehingga anak akan tumbuh dengan baik sesuai dengan umurnya. Pemantauan status gizi anak dapat dilakukan salah satunya di sekolah. Para guru juga berperan dalam mengetahui status gizi para muridnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memantau status gizi anak usia dini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan survei yang dilakukan di TK Islam Siti Fatimah, Semarang. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 76 sampel. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengukuran berat badan dan tinggi badan dan dianalisis menggunakan WHO Anthro dan WHO Anthro Plus. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran diketahui bahwa rata-rata z-score BB/U tergolong gizi baik, TB/U tergolong normal, IMT/U tergolong baik dan BB/TB tergolong baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa status gizi anak di TK Islam Siti Fatimah tergolong baik.

Abstract

High-protein food has a significant impact on reducing hunger conditions and increasing satiety. Not many studies have investigated the impact of differences in a high protein diet on satiety based on sex and nutritional status. The aim of the study is to determine the effects of a high protein diet (animal and plant-based) on satiety based on sex and nutritional status. The experimental research was conducted by pre-post group design. The subjects of this research were 23 adults aged 20-23 years who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria living in Yogyakarta. Satiety profiles (hunger, fullness, desire to eat, and PFC) were measured using a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) questionnaire. The categorization of nutritional status is based on BMI. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and paired t-test. Based on sex, there was a difference in the fullness component between males and females after consuming animal protein meals (p= 0,001) and plant-based protein meals (p< 0,01). Whereas based on nutritional status, there was no difference in all satiety profiles. In conclusion, men have different satiety from women after consuming a high protein diet.
