Abstract

This research was carried out to cocamine hatic wood properties (anatomical structure, physical and mechanical properties and machining aspect of three lesser-known species from natural forest in Sulawesi ie. sama-sama (Ponteria firma Bachni), palade (Aglaia sp.) and kumsa batu (Manilkaru merrilliana H.J.L.). Appropirate pood utulization war determined by considering their basic properties and uses which the locally community bave currently end Results revealed that sama-sama beartwood is dark brown to black with irregular black lines bandi; rather fine texture and glasry surface; rather beary; moderate in dimenzional shrinkage; strenght class IV-III; good grade for machinery, fiber grade is good for pulp/paper manufacture; probable utilization are for light construction material in bouse building and certain ship omponents, peeling venter, glulam, pallet, pulp and paper. Palado beartwood is light brown to grayish brown colour, straight grain; rather fine tecture; rather beavy; moderate in dimensional shrinkage; strenght class III; good grade in machinery, fiber grade is good for pulp/paper manufacture; probable utilization are for light construction material in hours building and certain ship components, cheap furniture, moulding, glaulam, peeling veneer, bandicraft, pulp and paper. Kumna batu beartwood is reddish brown colour, greath rings diffuse and sometimes appeared clear with figures of decurative surface as parallel lines on radial section; grain straight; toctare fine and glosty zarface; remarkably beary, high in dimensional shrinkage; strenght class 11; very good grade in machinery: fiber grade is poor for palp/paper manafactureprobable utilization are for beary construction material in bowse and ship building, vehicular(track bodypower line poles, furniture, moulding, slicing veneer, tool bandies, handicraft and charcoal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 2 Sibulue Kabupaten Bone. Masalah utama yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, yang memerlukan pemahaman mendalam terhadap penerapan kurikulum baru yang tekanan pembelajarannya terfokus pada siswa. Kurikulum Merdeka bertujuan menciptakan pelajar Pancasila yang mandiri, kreatif, dan berakhlak mulia, namun tantangan seperti kesiapan guru dan pemanfaatan teknologi masih menjadi tantangan. Penelitian ini penting untuk menganalisis bagaimana kurikulum ini diterapkan dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, yang berperan penting dalam pengembangan kompetensi komunikasi siswa. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, termasuk tahapan-tahapan yang dilakukan oleh guru di sekolah tersebut. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian adalah SMP Negeri 2 Sibulue Kabupaten Bone. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap guru Bahasa Indonesia kelas VII dan VIII. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan untuk memastikan validitas temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka telah diterapkan dengan baik melalui tiga tahapan utama: asesmen diagnostik, perencanaan, dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Guru menggunakan modul terbuka sebagai acuan utama, yang mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa, dengan guru sebagai fasilitator, mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa melalui diskusi, proyek, dan presentasi. Namun tantangan yang muncul dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran dan kesalahpahaman siswa terhadap konsep “merdeka”, yang menyebabkan perilaku siswa kurang teratur. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka, sebagai referensi bagi pendidik dan institusi pendidikan.

Abstract

Abstrak This study discusses the implementation of the Pixellab application in creating pamphlets for the Indonesian Language Student Association (HIMABINA) at Muhammadiyah University of Bone. The background of this research arises from the organization’s need for a practical and accessible publication medium capable of producing attractive and informative pamphlet designs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of Pixellab in pamphlet creation and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research applies a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. The respondents consist of ten active HIMABINA members who are directly involved in designing organizational pamphlets. The data were analyzed using a thematic approach to identify patterns and meanings from respondents’ experiences. The results show that the implementation of Pixellab goes through four stages: downloading, introduction and socialization, independent exploration, and practical application in pamphlet creation. The application is considered helpful because of its simple interface, Android-based system, and flexibility. Frequently used features include text editing, layers, shapes, 3D text, and background removal. Most respondents expressed satisfaction since the app enhances creativity and basic graphic design skills. However, some challenges include limited features for complex designs, small phone screens, and paid premium features. In conclusion, Pixellab is effective as a design medium for student organization pamphlets and is recommended for continued use with basic design training support.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengatasi minimnya sistem signage yang memadai di Universitas Muhammadiyah Bone, yang menyebabkan kesulitan navigasi, kebingungan, dan rendahnya aksesibilitas bagi civitas akademika dan pengunjung. Papan petunjuk lokasi diakui sebagai elemen infrastruktur krusial yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan efisiensi akademik dan citra institusi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pendekatan Partisipatif (PRA), meliputi observasi langsung dan diskusi kelompok terfokus, untuk mengidentifikasi dua titik strategis pemasangan signage (Gerbang Utama dan dekat Auditorium) serta memastikan desain yang informatif, estetis, dan inklusif. Selain itu, pendekatan ini dirancang untuk menumbuhkan rasa kepemilikan komunal guna menjamin keberlanjutan proyek dan mekanisme pemeliharaan mandiri. Hasil kegiatan diukur melalui evaluasi multidimensional. Target kuantitatif utama adalah penurunan waktu navigasi secara signifikan, dari rata-rata 10-15 menit menjadi 3-5 menit, yang didukung oleh bukti kualitatif yaitu hilangnya kebingungan pada mahasiswa saat mencari lokasi. Implementasi signage yang efektif ini tidak hanya mempermudah navigasi dan meningkatkan keamanan, tetapi juga secara simultan memperkuat branding universitas dan menciptakan lingkungan akademik yang lebih terorganisir, ramah, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Character education is an important aspect of elementary education in the era of Society 5.0. However, the Bone Regency Education Report Card, 2023 showed a decline in student discipline, responsibility, and respect, with only 40% of students consistently demonstrating positive character behavior. This study aims to design and implement the Sijello to Mampu Puzzle as an interactive learning medium to strengthen the character values ​​of elementary school students. This study used the R&D method with the ADDIE model. Data were collected using pre-tests, post-tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observation sheets. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results showed that the developed puzzle media achieved a validity score of 87.5% (very valid), a practicality score of 85.2% (very practical), and an effectiveness score of 82.7% (effective).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the semiotic signs in the Mappadekko ritual tounderstand how they reflect the sacred values and cultural identity of the BugisBone community. Furthermore, it identifies the process of liturgical codification asa strategy for preserving the Mappadekko ritual and the resilience of the Torilangilanguage amidst modernization. The research also measures the level ofcommunity acceptance towards the adaptation of the Mappadekko tradition in thedigital era. A mixed-method (Sequential Exploratory) design was employed, withdata collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires inPationgi Village, Bone Regency. The findings reveal that the Mappadekko ritual isa complex and structured semiotic system where every element functions as ameaningful sign. The Torilangi language, used in prayers and mantras with fixedpronunciation patterns, inherently signifies sacredness and spiritual connection.Liturgical codification, in both oral and practical forms, proves to be an effectivestrategy for maintaining the resilience of the Torilangi language. The community ofPationgi Village shows a high level of acceptance and positive views towardsadapting the Mappadekko tradition in the digital era, particularly for promotion andeducation, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining its sacred essence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of literacy-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) in teaching narrative text writing to tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Bone.The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach to comprehensively portray the processes of planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). The research subjects consisted of one Indonesian language teacher and 32 tenth-grade students selected purposively.Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing (Miles et al., 2014). The implementation of PjBL followed the project-based learning syntax, including determining essential questions, project planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes (Thomas, 2000). Literacy integration was carried out through activities such as reading model texts, analyzing narrative structures, group discussions, and written reflections before and after the writing process.The findings indicate an increase in students’ active engagement during the learning process as well as improvement in the quality of the narrative text structures produced. Most students were able to organize orientation, complication, and resolution systematically with better cohesion and coherence (Dalman, 2018). However, challenges were still identified in the mechanical aspects of language, such as spelling and vocabulary variation. Overall, literacy-based PjBL effectively enhances the quality of narrative writing instruction and can serve as a strategic alternative for strengthening literacy culture at the senior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the use of the Inquiry method in teaching expository text writing to grade X students of SMA Negeri 3 Bone. The background of this study is based on students' low ability to develop data-based arguments, organize paragraphs logically, and the lack of ability to analyze issues before writing. The Inquiry method was chosen because it places students as information discoverers through the process of asking questions, investigating, collecting data, analyzing facts, and drawing conclusions before being written in expository writing. The results of the description show that the Inquiry method is effective in improving the ability to write expository texts, especially in the aspects of argument quality, accuracy of supporting data, and paragraph coherence. These findings confirm that the use of the Inquiry method can be a relevant and innovative pedagogical alternative for Indonesian language teachers at the high school level, especially in developing evidence-based writing skills.
