Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain the ability of grade V students of SD Negeri 6 OKU in summarizing discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The techniques used are observation and test techniques. The results showed that the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 6 OKU were able to summarize discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. This is evidenced by the average value of the students' ability in summarizing discourse using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model which is 63.83% which is in accordance with the assessment indicators which are classified as sufficient. In detail, the results of this study are: suitability of the summary content is 56% (sufficient), accuracy of themes is 60.66% (sufficient), suitability of word counts is 90.66% (very good), and mechanics is 48% (poor). In addition, the results of observations in this study indicate that the teacher delivers material summarizing discourse that can be understood by students through the application of the CIRC learning model which is well done and easy to understand.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characters and characterizations contained in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye and to describe the educational values ​​contained in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye. The method used in this study is a descriptive method using a structural approach. The data collection technique used is the documentation technique. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used in this study is a novel document content analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the characters who play a role and build the story in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye are Laisa, Mak Lainuri, Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana, and Yashinta. Furthermore, the characterizations painted on these characters are: Laisa has a hard-working and firm character, Mak Lainuri has a gentle and kind character, Dalimunte is a smart and obedient character, Ikanuri is described as a naughty but kind character, Wibisana is a character who is a little naughty but in principle he is a good person, and Yashinta is a beautiful story character and has a good personality. In addition to the strength of the characters and characterizations, educational values ​​are also the strengths that are presented in the novel, namely religious, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic values, respect for achievement, communicative, peace-loving, reading, caring for the environment, social care, and responsibility. For this reason, Tere Liye's novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga is suitable as reading material and as teaching material for the basic competence of writing novels in schools.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to describe the results of the analysis of the needs of teachers and students for the development of teaching materials for writing poetry in elementary schools, (2) to describe the results of the prototypes for developing teaching materials for writing poetry for students in elementary schools, and (3) to describe the feasibility teaching materials for writing poetry as a result of development for elementary school students. The type of research used is Research and Development (R & D) with the Jolly and Bolitho models. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique is a descriptive analysis technique. The results of the study show that students in elementary schools need poetry writing textbooks related to the content and physical aspects of textbooks. Meanwhile, the teacher was also given a questionnaire to assess teaching materials for writing poetry. Furthermore, the results of expert validation were obtained, namely the appropriateness of the content obtained a score of 21, language obtained a score of 20, presentation obtained a score of 18, and graphics obtained a score of 19. The total score obtained was 78. Based on the results of data analysis, 12 students wanted textbooks that can increase knowledge, 19 students expect teaching materials in the form of textbooks, and 20 students want complete teaching materials. Thus it can be concluded that the prototype of this teaching material is feasible to be used as a poetry writing textbook for students in elementary schools.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan Implikatur Percakapan masyarakat Komering di Pasar Martapura Kabupaten OKU Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, dalam percakapan masyarakat Komering di Pasar Martapura Kabupaten OKU Timur ditemukan:  1) implikatur ekspresif; 2) implikatur representatif; 3) implikatur komisif; dan 4) implikatur direktif. Implikatur ekpresif yang dilisankan termasuk jenis meminta, mengkritik, dan memuji. Implikatur representatif yang dilisankan termasuk jenis menyatakan. Implikatur komisif yang dilisankan termasuk jenis menolak. Implikatur direktif yang dilisankan termasuk jenis menyuruh. Implikatur transaksi di Pasar Martapura Kabupaten OKU Timur yang sering digunakan adalah implikatur ekspresif. Implikatur ekspresif merupakan tindak tutur yang dimaksudkan penuturnya agar tuturannya diartikan sebagai evaluasi tentang hal yang disebutkan didalam tuturan itu. Tuturan meminta, mengkritik dan memuji, termasuk kedalam jenis implikatur ekspresif. Kata kunci: Implikatur Percakapan, Masyarakat Komering, Pasar Martapura   ABSTRACT The aim of the research is to describe the conversational implications of the Komering community at Martapura Market, East OKU Regency. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, in the conversations of the Komering community at Martapura Market, East OKU Regency, it was found: 1) expressive implicatures; 2) representative implicature; 3) commissive implicature; and 4) directive implicature. The expressive implicatures used include requesting, criticizing and praising. The spoken representative implicature is a type of statement. The spoken commissive implicature is a type of refusal. The verbal directive implicature is a type of command. The frequently used transaction implicature in Martapura Market, East OKU Regency is expressive implicature. Expressive implicatures are speech acts that the speaker intends for his speech to be interpreted as an evaluation of the things mentioned in the speech. Abstract

The objective of this study is to find and to obtain a profound understanding of the moral values of the main character in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy as responded by the sixth semester students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department (PBSI) Baturaja University The students’ receptions include: (1) students’ responses to religious moral values, (2) students’ responses to the personal moral values, (3) responses responses to social moral values. The data of this qualitative research were obtained through closed questionnaires and interviews. The data collection procedure was done by determining the respondents who have read and understood the novel, spreading the questionnaire, and then conducting the interview, collecting the data, classifying the data, and eventually analyzing the data. The result of the research revealed that the religious moral value of the main character is considered good with the percentage of 9,3%. In addition, the personal and social moral values ??are also considered good with the percentage of 9,0%, and 9,6% respectively. The moral values of the main character may become good examples for the students to develop a strong character in religious, personal, and social moral values.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the teaching and learning process of class X SMA Negeri 6 OKU students writing short stories in learning to tell stories in pairs and to explain the ability of class The method used in this research is descriptive method. Data collection techniques use observation techniques and test techniques. In making short stories using the learning technique of learning to tell stories in pairs. The results of the short story writing test in pair storytelling learning showed that of the 30 samples who got a score of 66 and above, there were 23 people (76.67%), 7 students who got a score of 65 or below (23.33%). Based on these results, it can be concluded that class X.2 students at SMA Negeri 6 OKU are able to write short stories in learning to tell stories in pairs. The advice for teachers is that they should always provide motivation to students, so that students are conditioned and happy to participate in learning. Students should take advantage of the opportunity given by the teacher to ask questions about learning material that is unclear and not yet understood, and increase their vocabulary. For researchers, with this research researchers can find out the abilities of class X.2 students at SMA Negeri 6 OKU. For other researchers, it is hoped that they can conduct research on writing short stories using different media, methods, and techniques in the future.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine how the use of language in the village Ogan makarti Tama SP 5 in the current situation or the current state as well as to describe Ogan How is retention language in the village of Tama makarti SP 5 Block C District A review. The method used in this research is descriptive method, namely the attempt to describe and interpret the complete retention of the language with dialect or patois see speech and language attitudes, speech community in the village of Tama makarti Ogan which includes the use of language in formal and informal situations. Based on the results of data analysis has been done to the component author sociolinguistics in language use Ogan in the village of Makarti Tama can be concluded that the language used in speaking Ogan village of Tama is makarti Ogan and Indonesian languages​​. Ogan language used in informal and formal situations, while Indonesian is used in formal situations.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the structure of the legend of Goa Putri and Si Pahit Lidah in the Padang Bindu area, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method combined with Levi-Strauss's Structuralism theory. Data mining techniques were carried out using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results of this research show that there are four episodes of the Legend of Goa Putri and Si Pahit Lidah, namely (1) the initial episode and the origins of Putri Dayang Merindu, (2) episodes of the characters' lives and daily lives, (3) problem episodes, and (4) final episodes. There are four myths in the Legend of Goa Putri and Si Pahit Lidah, namely (1) the myth of the tiger guarding Goa Putri, the friend of Princess Dayang Merindu, (2) the myth of Sumuhun water which can make you stay young, (3) the myth of Si Pahit Lidah's curse on Princess Dayang Merindu, and (4) the myth of the curse of the Si Pahit Lidah for the village area. There are three forms of binary opposition relations, namely relations of differences in status between characters, relations of place, and relations of differences in time. The values contained are (1) friendship can be made with anyone, (2) an invitation to love the environment, especially water, maintaining the sustainability, cleanliness and clarity of water as a source of life for humans and other living creatures, and (3) teaching humans to be able to hold back anger or be patient and be kind to anyone. Abstract

Karang taruna merupakan ujung tombak masyarakat yang potensial sebagai objek sasaran pembinaan dan pengembangan Bahasa Indonesia. Hal tersebut disebabkan generasi muda inilah yang nantinya akan memberikan pengaruh besar bagi pemakaian bahasa di lingkungan sekitar, terutama pada pemakaian bahasa di situasi resmi. Prinsip 5M yang dirumuskan adalah sebagai bentuk aplikasi sederhana yang dapat membangun semangat kecintaan terhadap bahasa Indonesia dan dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal ini bertujuan agar generasi muda juga ikut berperan aktif dalam menjaga keberadaan bahasa Indonesia agar tetap eksis di masyarakat serta mampu menggunakannya dengan bijak tanpa mencampur aduk dengan bahasa lain yang merugikan kualitas bahasa Indonesia itu sendiri. Kegiatan ini adalah suatu bentuk upaya kepedulian terhadap pelestarian bahasa Indonesia pada generasi muda.
