Abstract

This research focuses on human etiquette issues towards the environment. All forms of damage and changes to the environment are depicted through news stories and digital newspaper short stories. Ethical studies are raised to examine the attitudes that humans should have towards the environment to create harmony. Through environmentally themed digital newspaper short stories, the researcher explains the forms of environmental damage and changes and their relation to how human characters respond to them. The method used is qualitative to comprehensively and deeply understand the phenomenon under study. The results of the ethical study of five digital newspaper short stories as research objects. The analysis shows that the ethical analysis of environmental wisdom describes: an examination of attitudes towards the environment, namely an examination of respect for nature; an examination of moral responsibility towards nature; an examination of solidarity towards nature; an examination of love for nature; and an examination of not disturbing natural life. The analysis results show findings of ethical study of environmental wisdom in terms of attitude studies found in digital newspaper short stories. Three of them have a comprehensive study of attitudes towards the environment, while the other two only have one individual attitude study towards the environment

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi pendidikan karakter dalam kumpulan cerpen Lebaran di Karet, di Karet... karya Umar Kayam. Kajian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penguatan pendidikan karakter yang kontekstual dan bermakna bagi kehidupan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Jenis data yang dikaji adalah data tekstual berupa narasi dan dialog yang menunjukkan praktik pendidikan karakter dalam lima cerpen. Kelima judul cerpen yang dikaji, di antaranya “Ke Solo, Ke Njati”, “Menjelang Lebaran”, “Lebaran Ini, Saya Harus Pulang”, “Mbok Jah”, serta “Lebaran di Karet, di Karet”. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pembacaan intensif dan pencatatan kutipan yang relevan berdasarkan teori pendidikan karakter Thomas Lickona. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, kategorisasi nilai karakter, interpretasi konteks, dan penarikan simpulan. Validitas data diperkuat melalui triangulasi teori dan pembacaan ulang secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelima cerpen memuat tujuh aspek penting pendidikan karakter, yaitu kejujuran, belas kasih, keberanian, kasih sayang, kontrol diri, kerja sama, dan kerja keras. Aspek-aspek ini tergambarkan melalui proses pembelajaran karakter para tokoh dalam merespons dinamika konflik sosial dan personal. Temuan ini menegaskan karya sastra, khususnya cerpen, mengandung potensi kuat dalam menggambarkan proses pendidikan karakter yang reflektif dan aplikatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Yura Yunita Tutur Batin song media in improving poetry writing skills in class X students. This study used a quantitative approach using experimental research methods. The experimental design used in this study was quasi-experimental using a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample used in this study consisted of 35 students from class X at SMA Negeri 17 Bekasi, who were assigned to the experimental class (X E.2), and 33 students from the same class who were assigned to the control class (X E.5). Data on poetry writing skills were collected using test instruments that were compiled objectively based on test specifications. In its implementation, the experimental class received treatment to use song media in poetry learning, while the control class did not receive song media treatment. However, both classes were given the same learning materials and resources. The research data were analyzed using parametric inferential statistical procedures, namely paired sample t-tests. The results of this study: 1) the pre-test of poetry writing skills, namely before using song media in learning, had an average value of 67.37 for the experimental class and 69.36 for the control class; 2) post-test of poetry writing skills, namely without using song media in learning, had an average value of 82.27 for the control class, while for the experimental class that used song media in learning, had an average value of 87.11; 3) song media had a significant influence in improving poetry writing skills in class X of SMA Negeri 17 Bekasi.

Abstract

This research analyzes the poetry collection Anjing Gunung by Irma Agryanti using Greg Garrard’s ecocriticism theory. The study focuses on identifying representations of nature, such as pollution, wilderness, apocalypse, dwelling, animals, and the earth in five selected poems: Jalan ke Gunung, Anjing Gunung, Pemburu, Celeng, and Aku Melihat Hutan dalam Puisi. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the researcher applies data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The analysis reveals 30 instances of nature representation. Pollution is symbolized through metaphors like the well is dead, indicating ecological damage. The wilderness appears through images of tree trunks and young forests, reflecting nature’s strength and vulnerability. The poet also criticizes environmental apocalypse caused by human greed, highlighting its impact on animals and the earth. These findings show a strong ecological message, urging environmental preservation. The study’s results are used to develop an E-module aligned with the independent curriculum for Phase E, aiming to enhance students’ literary appreciation and promote environmental awareness as part of character education.

Abstract

Students' interest in taking part in writing lessons at school is still low because there are no learning strategies implemented by teachers when writing lessons take place. This study aims to determine the effect of Writing In The Here And Now Technique on poetry writing skills for class X students SMKN 1 Karawang Two samples were employed, the experimental class (X TP 3) and control class (X TPFL 2). There is a pretest and posttest to determine student learning outcomes. Data processed using the SPSS Statistics Version 27 application shows that the experimental and control classes have different learning outcomes. The average in the experimental class was 79.11 and the control class was 63.08. Based on these averages, it can be concluded that there was a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis citra perempuan dalam kumpulan cerpen Malaikat Itu Bernama Ibu karya Rossa dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada buku paket yang beredar di sekolah masih adanya ditemukan bias gender yang dialami oleh perempuan. Padahal sekolah dapat menjadi tempat pengenalan kesetaraan gender pada masyarakat terutama pada generasi muda. Dengan pembelajaran sastra di sekolah dapat menjadi jembatan dalam pengenalan kesetaraan gender, salah satunya dengan materi cerpen pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas XI. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori kritik sastra feminis dari Sugihastuti tentang citra perempuan yang terbagi menjadi tiga, yaitu fisik, psikis, dan sosial. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik studi pustaka dan simak catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat citra perempuan baik fisik, psikis, dan sosial dalam kumpulan cerpen Malaikat Itu Bernama Ibu karya Rossa. Dari tiga cerpen yang dianalisis, tokoh yang digambarkan dominan perempuan dewasa sehingga citra perempuan yang digambarkan adalah perempuan dewasa yang merupakan seorang pekerja, perempuan dewasa sebagai istri, perempuan penyabar, dan perempuan dewasa yang menjadi pemimpin.

Abstract

This study aims (1) to describe the use of journalistic language characteristics on news media portals online Sindonews.com in the Metro Sindo channel, February 2023 edition, (2) to describe the results of the research as teaching materials for news texts in the form of modules for grade VIII junior high schools (SMP). The theory used in this study is the Sumadiria theory (2016). The research and method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used in the research is a note-taking technique. Based on the results of media research online sindonews.com during its February 2023 issue has used journalistic language characteristics that are easy to understand. However, there were still 8 that did not fit the simple characteristics, 5 did not fit the short characteristics, 4 did not fit the clear characteristics, 11 did not fit the populist characteristics, 8 did not fit the grammatical characteristics, 9 did not fit the avoidance characteristics, 10 did not fit the characteristics of avoiding foreign words and terms, 11 did not fit the characteristics of diction choice, and 4 did not fit the characteristics of avoiding words or technical terms. From the results of the analysis obtained, its use in further education can be used as teaching materials in the form of modules that are applied in learning news texts in accordance with Basic Competency (KD) 3.2 Examining the Structure and Language Rules of News Texts.

Abstract

Literary work is the result of human creativity which is the embodiment of the imagination or creativity of the writer based on the reality of his life in society. Literature is known to have mimetic properties which in Greek means imitation. Imitation in this case is a picture of the reality of life or reality that is centered on the universe. Thus, what is contained in literature is actually the reality that exists in life, but it is added with the ideas and ideas of the author which makes it a work of fiction. Literary works have various functions, one of which is an educational function. It is said to have an educational function because basically literature contains many positive values ​​that readers can take and apply in everyday life. One form of literary work is a novel. This research aims to describe. (1) describe the social values ​​in the novel Aral by Fatih Zam. This study uses Burhan Nurgiyantoro's theory of intrinsic elements and Jubaedi's social values. Intrinsic elements are elements that (directly) participate in building the story. It is this element that makes the novel tangible and is often encountered by readers when reading novels. Social values ​​are a set of individual attitudes that are used as a standard of behavior and valued as a truth to get a harmonious and democratic society. Thus, social values ​​have a very important position for society, nation and state. Social values ​​function as a reference for behavior in interacting with others so that empowerment can be accepted in society. The subject in this study is the novel Aral by Fatih Zam .The data collection technique in this research is document study. The results of this study also found social values ​​which include: (1) the value of mutual help, (2) the value of caring, (3) the value of loyalty, (4) the value of kinship, and (5) the value of responsibility.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of the picture and picture model in learning to write poetry for class X students at SMK Negeri 3 Karawang. Based on the research objectives, the researcher hypothesizes that using the Picture and Picture Model is better than not using the Picture and Picture Model. The population in this study were all students of SMK Negeri 3 Karawang. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with class X MP 1 as the control class and X MP 3 as the experimental class. Both sample classes have the same number, namely 36 students. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design, while for quantitative data analysis using software version 26.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the Normality test calculations, abnormal significance data is produced. Next, the Mann-Whitney Test was carried out. Based on the Test Statistics output, it is known that the Asymp Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. From the formulation of this hypothesis, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. There is a significant difference in the ability to write poetry between the experimental class and the control class. It can be concluded that the final ability to write poetry for students who use the Picture and Picture Model is better than using the conventional model seen from the assessment of the physical elements and inner elements that make up poetry

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai moral dalam drama Sinetron Nurbaya di akun YouTube Indonesia Kaya. Dengan menggunakan teori Nurgiyantoro dalam menganalisis nilai-nilai moralnya. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, sehingga hasil penelitian ini berupa gambaran nilai-nilai moral dalam drama Serial Musik Nurbaya. Peneliti juga menggunakan teknik dokumentasi berupa kegiatan mendengarkan dan mencatat dalam pengumpulan data. Kemudian gunakan teknik analisis isi untuk mengidentifikasi data yang diperoleh sebelumnya. Dari hasil penelitian, drama Sinetron Nurbaya teridentifikasi memiliki dua aspek nilai moral, yaitu hubungan antara manusia dengan dirinya sendiri dan hubungan antara manusia dengan sesamanya. Dalam aspek hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri, terdapat salah satu indikatornya yaitu tegas pada pendirian. Dalam aspek hubungan antara manusia dengan sesamanya terdapat dua indikator yaitu bersikap santun dan santun, dan membantu sesama.
