Abstract

History learning in Vocational High Schools (SMK Dinamika Pembangunan 2 Jakarta) faces challenges, including low student motivation and comprehension. These challenges stem from the perception that history is a difficult subject and the limited time available for delivering materials. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Indonesia’s history learning program by developing the History Infographic book as a learning resource. The research method used is Design-Based Research (DBR) with the Reeves model, which includes problem identification, design, implementation, and feasibility testing by education experts. The results indicate that the History Infographic book, specifically designed for the topic of the Japanese occupation in Indonesia, serves as an effective and engaging learning resource for 11th-grade vocational students. Infographics have proven to present information visually in a more appealing manner, aiding students in processing information and enhancing their understanding of complex historical materials. Therefore, this History Infographic book is considered suitable for use as a learning medium that supports students’ comprehension and motivation in history subjects in Vocational High Schools, in line with the applicable curriculum.

Abstract

This research has specific objectives aimed at analyzing the mechanisms involved in the learning process of entrepreneurship courses, particularly in the context of the History Education program. The chosen research methodology is qualitative, employing a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, interviews or interactive question-and-answer sessions, and documentation. The findings of this research reveal that the complex mechanisms within the entrepreneurship learning process in the History Education program have been effectively established, incorporating methods and learning media that are deemed to meet the necessary requirements. However, challenges identified during the learning process primarily concern time allocation and students' comprehension of entrepreneurship concepts. Thus, the entrepreneurship course implemented in the History Education program plays a significant role and is regarded as effective in fostering efforts to cultivate a new generation of young entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The youth of Indonesia in the era of disruption face the problem of lacking understanding of local cultural philosophical values, which leads to the loss of moral values. To preserve local culture, it is essential to develop national character by internalizing local cultural values in behaviors and social interactions. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of utilizing character education booklet media for teaching history based on traditional dance at SMA Nizamia Andalusia. This study employs a research and development (R&D) model, specifically the 4D development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The results indicate that the percentage of agreement from assessments by experts in media, language, and design reached 71.43%. This suggests that the booklet model is theoretically and practically suitable for use in learning. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the booklet model was analyzed through pretest and posttest evaluations. The analysis results show a significant increase in students' learning achievement, with an average pretest score of 78.76 and a posttest score of 99.56. The Wilcoxon test indicated significant results with a p-value of 0.000, suggesting that the use of the booklet positively contributes to the improvement of students' academic performance.

Abstract

Abstract: The existence of Aborigines experienced a bitter life after the arrival of Europeans in Australia. The various policies that were formed were completely controlled by white people, regardless of indigenous Australians. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the implementation of human rights in Australia in protecting the Aborigines from being treated by Europeans in 1967-2022. The method used in this study is the historical method, which includes heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the analysis obtained the lack of attention from the Australian government towards the Aborigines as the original inhabitants who occupy the first territory of Australia. This can be seen from acts of discrimination such as race, sexuality, age, disability, and human rights which are of concern to indigenous Australians. To fight for rights and equality between white people and indigenous people (Aborogins) a referendum was formed in 1967. This effort was implemented as a form of dismissing policies that were entirely only important for Europeans. The fact is that the enactment of the policies set is still unable to protect Indigenous Australians, but the implementation of this constitution can reduce the occurrence of discriminatory acts committed by Europeans.
