Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the soybean value chain in Grobogan Regency, Central Java. Different from other studies, this study portrayed the performance of the soybean value chain as a whole through a systems approach. The method used in this research is survey. This study used observation and structured interviews to farmers, marketing institutions, and other stakeholders to obtain primary data. A total of 65 soybean farmers from 6 districts in Grobogan Regency were selected by proportional random sampling to be used as a respondent. Determination of respondents for marketing to consumers using snowball sampling. This study uses descriptive-quantitative analysis methods with Value Chain Analysis (VCA), farm income, and marketing margins. The main activities in the soybean value chain consist of inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing, and services. The logistical aspect performance is constrained by the incompatibility of the use of inputs with the standard. The performance aspect of operations is reflected by the productivity and income of farmers, amounting to 1,822 kg/ha and Rp. 1,728,320 / ha. Outgoing logistics related to farmers' dependence on collecting traders. The performance of marketing aspects is reflected in channel margins 1, 2, and 3, namely Rp. 750 / kg, Rp. 1,350 / kg, and Rp. 1,475 / kg. The most dominant service aspect is the role of RKG. Supporting performance aspects need to be improved by improving infrastructure, adopting technology, and improving farmer card implementation.

Abstract

A partnership is an effort to involve various components to work together toward a common goal. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the partnership between farmers and PT Bloom Agro and to analyze the level of farmers’ satisfaction with the company. This study was conducted in January-February 2020 at the Bangkit Merbabu Farmer Group Association, Getasan Subdistrict, Semarang Regency. This study used a case study method with a sample size of 50 respondents who were determined by purposive sampling. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The study found ten attributes that are used as an assessment in implementing a partnership between farmers and PT Bloom Agro. The calculation from the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) found one attribute that became the main priority (Quadrant I), namely the field technicians’ level of knowledge. The four attributes that need to be maintained (Quadrant II) are clear standard operating procedures regarding product quality determination, selling price suitability, ease of product delivery, and increased revenue. The four low priority attributes (Quadrant III) are seed quality, field technicians response to farmer complaints, the suitability of products absorbed by the company, and the timing of payment. One redundant attribute (Quadrant IV) is the technology provided. The results of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) of 0.88 or 88% indicate that the performance of PT Bloom Agro has made farmers very satisfied.

Abstract

Snake fruit is a native Indonesian fruit that has become one of the leading export horticultural commodities. However, the distribution process of snake fruit exports to foreign countries faces several risks, such as perishability, bulky, diverse quality, and seasonality. Therefore, qualified management of risk barriers in the snake fruit supply chain system is needed, which is not only found in the distribution process but also in the production process and financial risks to maintain the quality of snake fruit. This study aims to identify potential risks, analyze the level of risk, and formulate risk mitigation measures in the snake fruit supply chain. The research method uses the intrinsic case study method and is analyzed using the House of Risk approach. The results showed that there were 32 risk events and 33 risk agents. Two of them are priority risks for mitigation, namely the risk of natural factors and demand fluctuations, which have led to 3 recommendations for mitigation actions, consisting of collaborating with related agencies and institutions, conducting intense communication among supply chain actors, and providing counselling and supervision of farmer-level snake fruit cultivation activities.

Abstract

PT New Hope Aquafeed Indonesia, a subsidiary of the New Hope Group, is implementing an agile supply chain model that combines efficient mass production of commercial fish feed with the ability to respond to specialized market demands. This model was chosen to deal with challenges such as raw material price fluctuations, seasonal demand and logistics. Supply chain flow mechanisms were identified based on six key dimensions: production, finance, information, logistics, supply and demand, and risk and resilience flows. Risk identification using the SCOR 11.0 model resulted in 47 risk events, with the highest number of risks in the Deliver process (21%). Risk impact analysis using FMEA showed that there were 6 prioritized risks categorized as very high risk, with the highest risk being inappropriate ingredient nutritional specifications (RPN 720). The main risk factors include inappropriate nutritional specifications of raw materials, inaccurate forecasting, feed formulation determination, raw material substitution, feed quality deviation, and distribution price increase during the holidays. These risks affect feed prices, farmer confidence and the sustainability of aquaculture production. Risk mitigation strategies were developed using the 5W+1H approach based on the highest RPN values. Mitigation recommendations include quality improvement, supply chain management, production planning, distribution systems, as well as improving the capabilities of human resources and systems.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze consumers' Willingness to Pay (WTP) for imported fruits (Fuji apple, red grape, and pear) and to analyze the influence of consumer characteristics on the WTP value in the supermarkets of Semarang City. This study employed a survey method with a quota sampling technique on 150 respondents who are consumers of imported fruits in three selected supermarkets in Semarang City. Data analysis to determine the average WTP value used the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), while the influence of consumer characteristics—including age, education, income, health consciousness, and expenditure on imported fruits—was analyzed using logistic regression. The results showed that the majority of consumers were willing to pay more, with the highest average WTP increase for red grapes (13.30%), followed by Fuji apples (12.75%), and pears (10.50%). The logistic regression analysis indicated that the factors influencing WTP differed for each fruit. The WTP for Fuji apples was positively influenced by expenditure on imported fruits. The WTP for red grapes was negatively influenced by age and positively by health consciousness. Meanwhile, the WTP for pears was negatifvely influenced by age. The variables of education and income were not found to have a partially significant influence on the WTP for any of the three fruit types.
