Abstract

Morality is part of the elements of structured cultural values. This study aims to describe the value of character education in the novel Matahari by Tere Liye as the relevance of literary learning in high school. This type of research uses a qualitative description with a content analysis approach. The data in the study is in the form of quotes of words, sentences, and paragraphs in the novel. The data source was obtained through Tere Liye's novel Matahari. The data collection technique in this study is document analysis that reflects the character values of Pancasila student profiles integrated through Lickona's theory. Data analysis techniques include reading, analysis, and recording. The data validity test was conducted through theoretical triangulation using the following analysis techniques. The results of this study reveal that the values of character education in the novel Matahari by Tere Liye reflect the value of character education of Pancasila student profiles, The values of character education are then integrated into the theory put forward by Lickona by covering three main dimensions; moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. In addition, the findings in this study also reveal that the character education values contained in the novel not only represent the ethical aspect but also reflect cultural values that are relevant to the context of character education in schools.

Abstract

Technological advances have caused numerous changes in every aspect of human life, including the languages used in communication. Indonesia is one of the countries with a multitude of languages, so in general, the Indonesian population communicates in more than one language. However, Indonesian serves as the national language that unites the nation amid the various regional and foreign languages that exist. The position of the Indonesian language should be prioritized over others because it is used as the national language and for communication in public spaces. However, over time, the existence of the Indonesian language has begun to erode. To preserve its existence, a campaign for the Indonesian language is necessary, and this can be achieved through the creation of educational stickers using Canva as a medium. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. The production of stickers through Canva is expected to be one of the efforts to preserve the Indonesian language and its status as the national language for communication in public spaces.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek kejiwaan tokoh-tokoh, nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel dan relevansinya sebagai bahan pembelajaran di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode content analysis (analisis isi). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini pendekatan psikologi sastra melalui teori psikologi Abraham Maslow. Sumber data penelitian adalah: (1) teks novel Mimpi Anak Pulau karya Abidah El Khalieqy; (2) panduan wawancara; (3) silabus pembelajararan Bahasa Indonesia di SMA kelas XII; (4) buku literatur yang relevan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan analisis dokumen dan wawancara. Teknik validasi data dengan triangulasi data dan sumber. Teknik analisis data dengan model analisis interaktif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa : (1) terdapat tiga aspek kejiwaan yang mempengaruhi tokoh-tokoh dalam novel Mimpi Anak Pulau karya Abidah El Khalieqy yaitu: konflik; belajar; dan motif. Ketiga aspek kejiwaan tersebut mempengaruhi tingkat kebutuhan tokoh-tokoh dalam novel seperti: kebutuhan fisiologis; kebutuhan rasa aman, kebutuhan dicintai dan disayangi; kebutuhan harga diri hingga kebutuhan aktualisasi diri; (2) terdapat sepuluh nilai pendidikan karakter yang menonjol dalam novel Mimpi Anak Pulau karya Abidah El Khalieqy yaitu; religius; kerja keras; kreatif; tanggung jawab; rasa ingin tahu; peduli sosial; cinta tanah air; semangat kebangsaan dan nasionalisme; jujur dan mandiri; (3) materi pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan hasil analisis psikologi sastra dan nilai pendidikan karakter novel Mimpi Anak Pulau karya Abidah El Khalieqy adalah mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas XII SMA.

Abstract

This research explored the reinterpretation of the dimensions of religion and nationalism in Hamzanwadis Wasiat Renungan Masa. This research aimed to understand religious messages and nationalism in the context of changing times and reveal their relevance to the challenges of globalization and modernization. The problem in this study lay in the complexity of the relationship between the spiritual dimension and national identity that emerged in the text. This research method was a hermeneutic approach to analyze the text in depth using the data source of the text Wasiat Renungan Masa. Data collection techniques were based on literature studies and text analysis. Data analysis techniques involve in-depth interpretation to uncover hidden meanings. Data validation was performed through triangulation by comparing the results of the analysis with the views of literary experts. The results of this study indicated that the religiosity of Kiyai Hamzanwadi is inseparable from the spirit of nationalism; instead, both complement and strengthen each other. Religion is considered a source of inspiration that encourages individuals to fight for the interests of the nation and state, while nationalism is not only a concept of nationality but also an expression of loyalty to religious teachings. This research enriches the understanding of literatures role in expressing religious values, nationalism, and their relevance to identity and social change in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aims of the research were to describe the Ulur-ulur traditional ceremony, the procession, and the values of local wisdom in it. The research applied a qualitative study using a snowball sampling method with passive participant observation techniques and interviews. The researchers conducted in-depth interviews with note-taking and one-on-one interview techniques, namely by asking questions to the informants one by one and then recording the answers from the informants. The data validated by the source triangulation method were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman research method which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research result shows that (1) the Ulur-ulur ceremony is one of the rituals that manifests the residents’ gratitude for the abundant water sources for the residents’ rice fields. (2) Ulur-ulur traditional ceremony procession consists of the preparation stage, jodhang procession, jamasan of Dewi Sri and Jaka Sedana statues, prayers and kajat, sowing flowers, and closes with a typical art performance of Tulungagung regency. (3) The practice of Ulur-ulur traditional ceremony has local wisdom values: religious, social, educational, historical, and economic values.
