Abstract

Qualitative data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model and quantitatively used descriptive statistics with correlation analysis. The results showed that the relationship between conversational media applications and social media with social capital was highly correlated and obtained a value above 0.75. This showed a very strong relationship before, during, and after the disaster. Users of conversational media applications and social media build social capital to help each other, build social networks and social relations, trust and cooperation to achieve common goals. Abstract

Agriculture plays a strategic role in the Indonesian economy, particularly in West Sumatra, where the majority of the population relies on rice cultivation for their livelihood. This study aims to analyze the role of farmer group empowerment in improving the welfare of farming households in Nagari Kampung Pinang, Lubuk Basung District, Agam Regency. The study employed a mixed methods approach. Data collection methods included document study, observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and focus group discussions (FGDs). The research location was in Kampung Pinang Village, Lubuk Basung District, Agam Regency. Qualitatively, the research used the Milles and Huberman (1992) model, which begins with data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Quantitatively, the research used MACTOR software analysis to evaluate the relationships and influences between factors. The theory used in this research is the Actor theory put forward by Macaulay and Cook (1996). The research results show that farmer groups play a strategic role as a liaison for access to production facilities, a forum for knowledge and technology transfer, a social actor that strengthens solidarity, a market mediator, a production supervisor, and a facilitator of cross-sector partnerships. MACTOR analysis revealed that the most intense interaction occurs between farmer groups and field agricultural extension workers, while private sector involvement is still limited. Structured, participatory, and collaborative empowerment programs have increased member capacity and agricultural productivity, which has had a positive impact on the welfare of farming households. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening coordination between actors, developing partnerships with the private sector, and increasing the institutional capacity of farmer groups to ensure the sustainability of local agricultural development.

Abstract

The Manunggal Army to Build Villages (TMMD) program represents a tangible form of collaboration between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the community to accelerate rural development. The 125th TMMD program, implemented in Solok Selatan Regency, serves as a concrete example of strategic cooperation between the TNI, local government, and community in improving welfare and strengthening regional resilience. This study aims to describe the forms of cooperation between the TNI and the community in implementing the 125th TMMD program and to analyze its social and economic impacts. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach, through observation, documentation, and literature analysis. The results indicate that the collaboration between the TNI and the community in the 125th TMMD program is realized through two main aspects: physical and non-physical activities. Physical activities include the development and improvement of tourism infrastructure for Mount Kerinci hiking routes, renovation of uninhabitable houses, and construction of sanitation facilities in Nagari Lubuk Gadang Selatan, Sangir District. Non-physical activities consist of national defense education, community empowerment programs, and efforts to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation and nationalism. The implementation of the 125th TMMD program has significantly contributed to improving tourism accessibility, stimulating regional economic growth, and enhancing synergy between institutions and the community in sustaining development. Therefore, the TMMD program functions not only as a physical development initiative but also as an effective model of partnership that strengthens the bond between the TNI and the people. The program has proven effective in increasing community participation, strengthening social solidarity, and becoming a key factor in promoting equitable development in Solok Selatan Regency.
