Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship between breastfeeding frequency, duration, and suction capacity with postpartum weight retention in breastfeeding mothers in the Teluk Pandan Health Center Work Area. The research employed a descriptive analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The population included all breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 6 months, totaling 89 individuals, and the entire population was used as the sample through total sampling. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and observation, and data analysis employed the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between breastfeeding frequency and postpartum weight retention (p = 0.000), breastfeeding duration and postpartum weight retention (p = 0.000), and baby suction capacity and postpartum weight retention (p = 0.000). In conclusion, postpartum weight retention in breastfeeding mothers is caused by suboptimal breastfeeding frequency, inadequate breastfeeding duration, and weak baby suction capacity. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted pregnant women's access to health services, including antenatal care (ANC) visits and the choice of delivery place. This study aims to analyse the factors influencing pregnant women's behavior regarding ANC visits and delivery place selection in Blitar City during the pandemic. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using questionnaires administered to pregnant women in Blitar City who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis involved statistical tests to identify the relationships between independent variables (maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes, perceptions of healthcare workers, family perceptions, and information availability) and dependent variables (ANC visit behaviour and delivery place selection). The results showed that maternal knowledge and perceptions of healthcare workers significantly influenced ANC visit behaviour, whereas maternal attitudes, family perceptions, and information availability did not show significant effects. Conversely, in delivery place selection behaviour, maternal attitudes, family perceptions, and information availability were significant factors, while maternal knowledge and healthcare workers' perceptions were not. It is concluded that individual and social factors play important roles in determining pregnant women's behaviour during a health crisis. Interventions aimed at improving health education, family support, and access to accurate information are essential to strengthen maternal health services during the pandemic.

Abstract

To support customer needs and ensure smooth organizational operations, such as in hospitals, the development of service products is essential. This analysed strategies for service product development and design recommendations to enhance services and improve patient satisfaction. A descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted. The sample recruitment employed purposive sampling, with a total sample size of 210 patients. The independent variables were social, economic, technological, and policy factors, while the dependent variable was the strategy for service product development. The research instrument was a questionnaire designed and tested for validity and reliability by the researchers. Social factors showed that family support was low at 66.2%, knowledge of electronics and internet development was 73.8%, knowledge of geriatric services was 70.5%, physical quality was 72.8%, and hobbies were 85.3%, categorized as high. For economic factors, the recognition of needs was 80.5%, information-seeking was 75.8%, and purchasing decisions were 77.6%, all categorized as high. Several product opportunity gaps were identified from the analysis of social, economic, technological, and policy factors in the development of geriatric services. The development of day-care services and the implementation of Patient Service Representatives & Geriatric Hotline Services are significant recommendations to meet patient service needs.

The implementation of direct supervision in consumables/drugs and medication for poor patient is considered as of highly important. The objectives of the research are to identify weak point in supervision unit components and related factors including organizational structure, implementation policy and corrective action. The study used qualitative method using both primary and secondary data including passive observation, document review, and in-depth interview to key informants. To validate the data, source triangulation was used as well as member checking, peer discussion, and negative case analysis. The study found that obstacles in supervision are related to facility and supervision targets (unit components), leadership, supervisory culture, and improper corrective action. It is suggested to review unit components related to facility and supervision target by improving knowledge on supervision management.
