Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to reveal the effects of using the wildlife monograph Varanus salvator on the conceptual understanding of urban students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, one-group pre-test, and post-test design. The sample of this study was students at private universities in the Jember Regency, Indonesia who took the Vertebrate Zoology course in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year with total of 27 students. This research was conducted because of the findings from previous research that in private universities, books from the research results are still needed, especially those that discuss examples of wildlife species as a learning resource for Vertebrate Zoology course, especially in the reptile class. The research data were analysed using the class average normalized Gain score (N-gain score). The analysis results showed that the N-gain score was an average class of 0.71, which means that it was greater than the N-gain score of 0.7, in other words, g> 0.7. This means that the effect of using the wildlife monograph book V. salvatory on learning the Vertebrate Zoology Course is at high stage criteria. In addition, it was also informed that the results of the normalized average individual gain analysis (individual N-gain score), it was found that g> 0.7 was 11 students with high criteria, 0.3> g ≥ 0.7, a total of 16 students with medium criteria, and no students found g ≤ 0.3. This informs that the V. salvatory monograph can realize the conceptual understanding of the topic of lizards in urban students.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh penggunaan monografi satwa liar Varanus salvator terhadap pemahaman konseptual mahasiswa perkotaan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu, one-group pre-test, dan post-test design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pada Perguruan Tinggi Swasta di Kabupaten Jember Indonesia yang mengambil mata kuliah Zoologi Vertebrata pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020 dengan jumlah 27 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena adanya temuan dari penelitian sebelumnya bahwa di perguruan tinggi swasta masih diperlukan buku-buku hasil penelitian terutama yang membahas tentang contoh jenis satwa liar sebagai sumber belajar mata kuliah Zoologi Vertebrata khususnya pada kelas reptil. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan rata-rata kelas Gain score ternormalisasi (N-gain score). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai N-gain merupakan rata-rata kelas sebesar 0,71, yang berarti lebih besar dari nilai N-gain sebesar 0,7 dengan kata lain g > 0,7. Artinya pengaruh penggunaan buku monografi satwa liar V. salvator terhadap pembelajaran mata kuliah Zoologi Vertebrata berada pada kriteria tingkat tinggi. Selain itu diinformasikan juga bahwa hasil analisis gain rata-rata individu ternormalisasi (individual N-gain score), didapatkan bahwa g>0,7 sebanyak 11 siswa dengan kriteria tinggi, 0,3>g 0,7, total 16 siswa dengan kriteria sedang, dan tidak ditemukan siswa yang g 0,3. Hal ini menginformasikan bahwa monografi V. salvator dapat mewujudkan pemahaman konseptual topik kadal pada mahasiswa perkotaan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desa Kebon Agung Kabupaten Jember, memiliki wilayah dengan topografi terasering, penduduknya bermata pencarian sebagai petani dan peternak. Di desa ini terdapat dua pasar tradisional dan enam peternak ayam potong. Limbah dari pasar dan peternakan sangat meresahkan warga karena bau tak sedap dan membludaknya lalat. Bersama-sama dengan perangkat desa, penanggung jawab sampah pasar, peternak, warga desa, dosen dan mahasiswa mengadakan sosialisasi pembuatan bokasi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman pertanian terutama tanaman favorit mereka yaitu Zea mays.

Abstract

One type of food consumed by vegetarians is nugget by developing innovations of rose petals into food nugget which has a good taste, it will attract the community as vegetarian food. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct sensory testing related to the innovation of rose nuggets. This study consists of several stages, namely the making of rose petal nuggets starting with the manufacturing trial. The formulation obtained from the results of the trial preparation will be conducted by sensory testing of panelists on color, aroma, taste, and texture with three comparisons of substitution formulas. In procuring the raw material for roses for processing nuggets, the results of the roses treatment test after the harvesting process have an effect on the product yield. As a result of the eight times test, we obtained the method and loading material for rose petals. Based on the results of sensory testing it was found that formulation B achieved the highest average value. On the average color specifications panelists give the highest value in formulation B of 88.89, on the aroma specifications the highest value in formulation B is 92.59, in the specification of the highest value in formulation B is 98.15, and on the highest value texture specifications in formulation B is 99.26. Based on the test results of preference also obtained that formulation B achieved the highest average value.

Abstract

               Limitations stock chicken ( Gallus domesticus ) is a common cause of the farmers failed to hatch , so many farmers prefer to sell their eggs from the hatchery is not optimal . This study aims to provide information to farmers Gallus domesticus about the effect of the order of ovulation and ovum size on hatchability ova Gallus domesticus . This is true experimental research , the technique of random sampling or simple random sampling .               The data used in this study is the observation data hatchability of chicken Gallus domesticus ovum at the beginning of ovulation ,  ovulation mid (start up before the end of the second ovulation) , late ovulation and subsequent ovulation (ovulation during the female parental already brood) , as well as the size of the ovum which consists of a length and width , of each parental females . In this study, there are three variables X and one Y variable , ie X1 (order of ovulation ) , X2 ( length ovum ) , X3 ( width ova ) and factor Y is Y1 ( hatchability of ovum ) .               The data obtained from the study were analyzed by analysis of variance ( ANOVA ) oneway and Pearson correlation test using SPSS v16 . From the research on two replications showed that : no effect on hatchability ovulation sequence , there is the influence of the size of the ovum is the length and width of the hatchability of chicken Gallus domesticus ovum . And there is no correlation with the size of the order of ovulation ovum to hatchability of chicken Gallus domesticus ovum .Keywords : Gallus domesticus , ovulation , ovum size , hatchability

Abstract

Ylang flower (Cananga odorata) is a plant that contains essential oils, flavonoids and saponins that are useful as a natural antibacterial. In this research, ylang flower antibacterial content obtained from a squeezed and boiled method. Serial concentrations used were 12,5%, 25%, 50% and 100%. While tetracycline 12.5% as the positive control and sterile distilled water as a negative control. There are differences in the effectiveness of antibacterial ylang flower of a squeezed and boiled method, it is known from the formation of inhibition zone on the test medium with Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 3x repetition. One Way Test results on freshly obtained ylang flowers calculated F value of 4.953 with 0.011 significance value, Ylang flowers being in the stew is not obtained F count. So in this research note ylang flower juice is more effective against Staphylococcus aureus growth compared with a decoction of ylang-ylang flowers.Keywords : Juice, Ylang flower (Cananga odorata), Staphylococcus aureus, Stews

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in the effectiveness of the juice and decoction of the leaves Ageratum conyzoides L. against Trichophyton rubrum growth. This study is the experimental category. Experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications and analyzed to determine differences Barriers Minimum Concentration (MIC). The study was conducted in vitro using the method of dilution and methods holes or pitting. Results of the study will be analyzed by ANOVA Test, Duncan and T-Test. Based on the test results of the analysis concludes the difference in effectiveness between the juice and decoction of the leaves Ageratum conyzoides L. Ageratum conyzoides L. leaf Freshly have inhibitory to the growth of the fungus Trichophyton rubrum and (MIC) while the stew is not only on the leaves Freshly Ageratum conyzoides L. Concentration barriers minimum (MIC) Preliminary test (UP) at concentrations of 50% inhibition zone with a diameter of 1.1 cm, while the final test (UA) minimum obstacle concentration (MIC) at a concentration of 40% with a mean diameter of 1.61 cm inhibition zone.Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides L., effectiveness, MIC, Trichophyton rubrum

Abstract

The development of e-book media by integrating conservation education materials with biology learning which is aims to determine the validity of e book media with the application of flip creator-based conversation education on biology learning. The research procedure used is research and development which begins with research and information gathering in the area BKSDA III of Jember- BBKSDA Jatim, Meru Betiri National Park and MA Ma’arif of Ambulu. Testing product design 1 to get validation value and category 58,5% (valid enough) for conversation educational material expert, 75,4% (valid) for biology subject matter experts and 73,6% (valid) for media expert. Product design 2 to get validation value and category 90,8% (very valid) for conversation educational material expert, 93,9% (very valid) for biology subject matter expert and 92% (very valid) for media expert. Preliminary field testing in average percentages with criteria of 87,4% (very good) for students responses and 79,2% (very good) for teacher response. Operational field testing in average percentages with criteria of 74,8% (good) for students responses and 93,8% (very good) for teachers response. The results in above can be concluded that the product is designed feasible in applying  in  biology  learning  with  very  valid  based  on  validation,  both  from  students responses and very good from teacher responses.

Abstract

Learning is a principal activity of education process. Researchers conducted observations in class VIII MTs SA Miftahus Saadah Sukorambi and obtained data around 85% which shows student score  70. This research aimed to determine the Increasing of Student study Results in studying the digestive system of humans by youtube media. The Type of the research used is a classroom action research (CAR). The procedure used is the cycle model. Based on reseach results,  The percentage of student learning result in cycle I is 75% and a cycle II is 85%. The result of daily test of the student in cycle I is 78,85. While in the cycle II  is 86,65. This case shows that the result of student learning can increase by you tube media for certain main idea. Abstract

AbstrakLimbah Ampas kopi dan seresah daun pisang memiliki banyak kandungan yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dari tanaman. Limbah ampas kopi memiliki kandungan 1,2% Nitrogen, 0,2% Fosfor dan 0,35% Kalium, dan seresah daun pisang memiliki kandungan protein, hemiselulosa dan lignin di dalamnya. Namun banyak masyarakat yang kurang mengetahui akan kandungan-kandungan tersebut, sehingga masyarakat kurang memanfaatkannya. Dalam hal ini peneliti memanfaatkan kedua limbah ini untuk dijadikan sebagai komposisi tambahan dari media tanam jamur merang untuk meningkatkan produktifitas dari jamur merang itu sendiri. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif yang diambil dari data pengamatan produktifitas tanaman jamur merang pada media tanam dengan penambahan limbah ampas kopi dan seresah daun pisang. Dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor yaitu (ampas kopi + daun pisang kering) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan yaitu Y0 (tanpa ampas kopi dan daun pisang kering), Y1 (ampas kopi 50 g + daun pisang kering 25 g), Y2 (ampas kopi 50 g + daun pisang kering 15 g), Y3 (ampas kopi 25 g + daun pisang kering 25 g), Y4 (ampas kopi 25 g + daun pisang kering15 g). Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah berat segar jamur yang tertinggi pada penelitian 1 yakni 29 g terdapat pada perlakuan ke 2 ( AK 50 g + SP 25 g (1) ) dan jumlah jamur tertinggi adalah sebanyak 6 helai yang terdapat pada perlakuan ke 2 (AK 50 g + SP 25 g (3) ). Sedangkan pada penelitian ke 2 berat segar jamur tertinggi adalah sebesar 46 g terdapat pada perlakuan ke 2 (AK 50 g + SP 25 g (1) ), dan jumlah jamur tertinggi sebanyak 16 helai yang terdapat pada perlakuan ke 5(AK 25 g + SP 15 g (3) ).Kata Kunci :Limbah ampas kopi, Limbah seresah daun pisang, Jamur merang

Abstract

The effect of model the Reading Concept Connection Discussion Evaluation (RCCDE) on critical thinking on water pollution material aims to determine the increase in critical thinking. Kind of research is a quasi experiment. Researchers in take samples using a purposive sampling technique with respondents in two classes. Data analysis using Anova. The total same of students is 22 in the experimental class using RCCDE and the control class using conventional methods. Based on the results of the analysis, it's can be concluded that there is an influence of the RCCDE model, on increasing critical thinking on Water Pollution material. Can be seen from the ANOVA test results obtained sig. 0,000 <0.05 (<0.050). Then, Ha is accepted. Based on these results, it be concluded that the use of the RCCDE model can improve critical thinking.
