Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan mobile learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi himpunan yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dimana prosedur penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan 4-D yang dimodifikasi menjadi 3-D, yaitu: Define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), dan development (pengembangan). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya sebanyak 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi untuk melihat kevalidan mobile learning, angket respon guru dan siswa untuk melihat kepraktisan mobile learning, dan hasil belajar pre-test dan post-test untuk melihat keefektifan mobile learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Berdasarkan validasi ketiga validator terhadap mobile learning dinyatakan sangat valid dengan presentase indeks rata-rata 86,53%. Tingkat kepraktisan mobile learning berdasarkan rata-rata angket respon guru dan siswa 82,65% dengan kriteria praktis. Dan mobile learning yang bernilai efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi himpunan berdasarkan uji statistik dimana t hitung = 18,76 > t tabel = 2,045.

Abstract

This research seeks to elucidate students' critical thinking abilities about comparable content. This study is descriptive in nature and employs a qualitative methodology. This study employs a case study methodology. The obtained data comprises critical thinking ability exam results, which include two problems and interviews. The obtained data is assessed according to the critical thinking skill indicators established by the researcher, which include: 1) investigating; 2) recognizing and justifying ideas; 3) generalizing; 4) clarifying and resolving. This research employs data analysis methodologies from Miles and Huberman, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The triangulation approach ensures the authenticity of the data used in this investigation. The data analysis findings categorize students' cognitive capacities into three groups: 11.11% (4 students) are classified as high, 27.78% (10 students) as medium, and 61.11% (22 students) as low. From the perspective of critical thinking capacity, 100% of students explored the topic, 55.56% identified and justified the notion, 16.67% generalized, and 11.11% clarified and resolved the issue. These findings demonstrate that students’ overall critical thinking abilities in solving similarity problems are still low, particularly in generalizing and resolving problems. The study contributes theoretically by reinforcing the significance of critical thinking in mathematics education, particularly geometry; methodologically by integrating test and interview data to analyze thinking processes; and practically by offering insights for teachers to develop instructional strategies that foster students' ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.

Abstract

This research implements a qualitative descriptive method, which aims to analyze students' metacognitive abilities in terms of cognitive style in class VIII circle material at MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. Data is collected and described in the form of words in descriptive research. This research was conducted at MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. This research data was collected through certain methods, namely, tests, questionnaires, interviews which were used to analyze students' metacognitive abilities, then processed into clear and easy to understand information. The data sources in this research were 4 class VIII students at MTs Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. The data collection techniques used in this research are measurement techniques, direct communication techniques and indirect communication techniques with data collection tools in the form of test questions, questionnaires, interview guides and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that in general subjects who had a field independent cognitive style showed better abilities in solving problems compared to subjects who had a field dependent cognitive style.

Abstract

This research uses experimental methods. With the true experimental design research form. The population of this research wa SETIA Pontianak Christian Theology Middle School and the research sample was clas VIII. In this study, 2 classes were taken, namely the experimental class and the control class. The aim of the research is to determine the understanding of concepts before and after being given treatment as well as the influence and differences between those who use geogebra software and those who do not use geogebra software and the differences between the experimental class and the control class in terms of gender. The data collection tool used is a test based on pretest and posttest results. Based on the calculations that have been carried out, the results obtained from understanding the concept before and after being treated with the average pretest and posttest for experimental class increasing significantly, as well as the pretest and posttest for the control class. Meanwhile, the standard deviation of the pretest and posttest for the experimental class increased. Meanwhile, the pretest and posttest of the control class decreased. Then there is an influence betwee the experimental classes. However, there is no difference between classes that use geogebra software and classes that do not use geogebra software. Meanwhil, the results of the differences between the experimental class and the control class in terms of gender are that there is no difference in understanding consepts for learning that uses geogebra software and learning that does not use geogebra software in terms of gender.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Geogebra-assisted learning videos on the mathematical representation abilities of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Sintang on linear programming material. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) ADDIE model with five stages consisting of Analysis, Desigh (design/planning), Development (development), Implementation (implementation) and Evaluation (evaluation). The product development subjects in this research were media expert validators, namely two mathematics education subjects and one mathematics subject teacher, material experts, namely two mathematics education lecturers and one mathematics subject teacher, and the product trial subjects were class XI IPS 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Sintang with 28 students. The data collection technique used is indirect communication techniques with research instruments in the form of validation sheets and response questionnaires, as well as measurement techniques in the form of description tests. Based on the results obtained, the conclusion in this research is that the learning videos developed are suitable for use in the learning process with the validation results from media experts and material experts obtaining validity with a percentage of 87.29% with very valid criteria; practicality was obtained from the teacher response questionnaire and student responses with a percentage of 85.89% with very practical criteria; and effectiveness measured from student test results obtained a percentage of 64.28% effective.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research. This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving SPLDV problems based on the Newman procedure in terms of cognitive style. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Sandai with the research subjects being grade VIII students. Then two students were taken each based on the Field Dependent cognitive style and the Field Independent cognitive style to be interviewed. The data analysis technique used in this study is the description method. Some of the results of the analysis of student errors in the Newman procedure, obtained a percentage of errors in understanding the questions 76%, transformation 50%, process skills 23%, and writing the final answer 90%. Based on the overall results of the percentage of student errors, it was found that students with the Field Dependent cognitive style made more mistakes than Field Independent students with the overall percentage of the Newman procedure in terms of student cognitive style. 36% errors in understanding the questions, 23% transformation errors, 3% process skills, and 38% writing the final answer.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the application of FunMath to students' critical thinking skills in exponential material in class X. This research uses a type of development research. In this study, the ADDIE development model is used. The subjects of this product trial research are students and students of MAN 1 Pontianak Class X I. The stages in this study are analysis, design, evelopment, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection technique used in this study is in the form of a questionnaire to see the practicality of the application and a validation sheet to see the validity of the application. The instruments used in this study include, validation sheets for media experts and material experts, validation sheets for teacher and student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires, and tests for students' critical thinking skills. The data analysis techniques used in answering the sub-sub-problems in this study are validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in mathematical comprehension ability from the calculation results obtained tcal>ttable = 4.86 >2.07, thus Ho was rejected Ha was accepted, after the application of the FunMath application which can affect critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Prestasi belajar matematika siswa sekolah menengah masih menjadi perhatian penting dalam pendidikan matematika. Matematika sebagai disiplin ilmu yang bersifat abstrak dan sistematis menuntut pemahaman konsep yang kuat serta kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Namun, praktik pembelajaran di sekolah masih sering berorientasi pada guru dan menekankan prosedur penyelesaian soal. Kondisi ini menyebabkan siswa cenderung menghafal langkah-langkah penyelesaian tanpa memahami konsep secara mendalam, sehingga mengalami kesulitan ketika menghadapi permasalahan matematika yang berbeda dari contoh yang telah diberikan.Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menguraikan dampak model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang diintegrasikan dengan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa sekolah menengah, dilihat dari aspek kesiapan belajar dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan desain eksperimen faktorial pada bagian kuantitatif dan pendekatan deskriptif pada bagian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa Sekolah Menengah di Kota Pontianak dan Kabupaten Kuburaya. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan awal, angket kemandirian belajar, tes prestasi belajar, wawancara, serta observasi. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan strategi berdiferensiasi secara signifikan memengaruhi prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Berdasarkan kesiapan belajar, tingkat ketuntasan siswa mencapai 85,29% dengan peningkatan prestasi pada seluruh kategori kesiapan. Berdasarkan kemandirian belajar, tingkat ketuntasan siswa mencapai 92%, tanpa adanya perbedaan signifikan antar tingkat kemandirian belajar.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of junior high school students’ understanding of three-dimensional geometry (solid shapes) and the need for a theoretical framework capable of explaining the dynamics of conceptual development more comprehensively. This research aims to analyze learning obstacles and the growth trajectory of students’ understanding using the Pirie–Kieren theory. The study employed a qualitative approach involving diagnostic tests, clinical interviews, observations, and analyses of student learning artifacts, validated through source triangulation, methodological triangulation, and expert confirmation. The findings show that students’ understanding develops non-linearly, with most students remaining at the Property Noticing level, characterized by difficulties in 2D–3D visualizations, conceptual reasoning, and multimodal coordination. The phenomenon of folding back consistently appears as a mechanism for reconstructing understanding when students encounter representational or conceptual conflicts. The analysis indicates the predominance of representational, epistemological, and didactic obstacles that hinder students’ transition toward formal understanding. In conclusion, the Pirie–Kieren theory effectively maps the development of students’ understanding and reveals the root causes of learning barriers in geometry. The study’s implications highlight the importance of representation-based learning design, reasoning scaffolding, and facilitating productive folding back to support deeper geometric understanding.
