Abstract

Rice bran is by product from rice milling and feed is one that is difficult to dry so provision when stored in large quantities with special packaging. Information about packaging materials has not been known. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of bran that is stored in various types of packaging and determine the best packaging in storage. This study used completely randomized design followed by Least Significant Difference test. The variables measured were organoleptic and chemical testing. The results showed that a various packaging used in storage of rice bran for 6 weeks was significantly effect (P<0,05) to the texture, moisture content, and peroxide value, but were not significantly effect (P>0,05) to colour, odor, and the rate of fat rice bran.  In addition, position sampling in packaging for 6 weeks were not significantly effect (P>0,05) to colour and the texture, but was significantly effect (P<0,05) to odor of rice bran. Then white plastic packaging as the best in maintaining the quality of rice bran.   Keyword: Rice bran, Types of Packaging, Peroxide Number

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the number of leukocytes and the differential leukocyte drake by different rations; 2) the number of leukocytes and the differential leukocyte drake best with different ration. The research was conducted in September-December 2015 Integrated Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This study uses a group design (RK). Grouping based on body weight with a weight range K1: 150-175 grams; K2: 176-200 grams; K3: 201-225 grams, and K4: 300-325 grams with level 4 treatments. Number of male ducks are used as many as 48 ducks males to 16 the number of plots so that each plot enclosure contains tigat male ducks. Data were collected at 10% of the number of ducks that exist in each treatment in each group. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance on the real level of 5% or 1% and continued with Duncan test for the value of the variance analysis showed significantly different results. The treatment is given in the form of rations drake 1, Ration 2 Ration 3 Ration 4 which has a different nutrient content so it can be the best diet to determine the level of normal leukocytes and leukocytes diferensial. The variables in this study are the leukocytes and the differential leukocytes include lymphocytes, monocytes, heterophile, eosinophils. The results showed that different ration was not significant (P> 0.05) and (P> 0.01) to the number of leukocytes and diferensial leukocytes. Keywords: Ducks Males, Leukocyte,  Rations

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find 1) the changes of physicalquality andwater content on wafer of agricultural waste were kept in a range of different times; 2)the most effective time for savingsan wafer of agricultural waste. The research was conducted in September-November 2014 in Banjar Baru Villages, Sukau Subdistrict, West Lampung and in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments by saving the wafer for 0 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks with fourrepetition. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0,01 or 0,05.The result of this research showed that wafer with differential storage time had a signifficantly effect (P<0,01) on the water level, texture, and scent on wafer of agricultural waste. The average of water content on wafer of agricultural waste based on carrot after saved by six weeks in the amount of 42,23 %, so there was no best saving time of wafer agricultural waste based on carrot because the water content of the wafer  exceeds the standard of water content of the feed material to be saved that is 14%.   (Keywords: wafer, agricultural waste, water content, texture, color, scent)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine texture, color, aroma, and palatability wafers with various agricultural waste compotition. The experimental design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. Wafer agricultural waste consists of three treatments and four replications, namely A: sweet potato 8% + potato 3% + cauliflower leaf chicory 5% + china cabbage 10%+ carrots 50% +labusiam 5%  + tomato 15.99% + molasses 3 % + salt 0.01%; B: sweet potato 15% + potato 5% + leaf cauliflower chicory 10% + China cabbage 15% + carrot 40% + labusiam 6% + tomato 5.99% + molasses 3% + salt 0.01%; C: sweet potato 20% + potato 7% + cauliflower leaf chicory 15% + China cabbage 20% + carrot 23% +labusiam 8% + tomato 3.99% + molasses 3% + salt 0.01%. The results of this study indicate that the wafer with a variety of agricultural waste composition was highly significant (P <0.01) on the color and texture of the resulting wafer, wafer agricultural waste significant (P <0.05) on the scent wafers produced. Best palatability generated on wafer composition C.

Abstract

The production of rice bran in Indonesia was 4 million ton in 2011. This big potency of rice bran hasn’t been optimally used yet as animal feedstuff, because the rice bran has short storage limit. The rice bran can’t be stored in long time because the fat content of the rice bran experiences the hydrolysis reaction easily that causes rancidity. The hydrolysis reaction happens because the reaction of fat and water content. Therefore, the water content of the rice bran must be decreased to prevent the hydrolysis reaction. The charcoal is hygroscopis, namely can absorb water, so that the use of charcoal in storage expected to be able in decreasing the water content and preventing the the hydrolysis reaction on the fat of the rice bran. This research aims to find out the effect of the use of wood and coconut shell charcoal on the organoleptic quality of colour, smell, texture, the water content, rancidity, and the fat of the rice bran stored for 4 weeks. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments. Each treatment was replicated 4 times. If the result of variance analysis is significantly different on a variable, so it’s continued by using Least Significant Different (LSD) Test on significant level 5% and 1%. The result showed that the use of the coconut shell charcoal influenced very significantly (p<1%) on the smell, water content, peroxide number of the rice bran stored for 4 weeks. The wood charcoal influenced very significantly (p<1%) on the water content and influenced significantly (p<5%) on the peroxide number. Key Word : peroxide number, rancidity, rice bran,

Abstract

Salvinia molesta is a weed reservoir Batu Tegi potential as a source of non-conventional fodder.  Information on the mineral content and its use has not been known.  This research was aimed to identification the mineral content of sodium (Na), potassium (K), chloride (Cl), and sulfur (S) to the old roots, young roots, old leaves, young leaves, and whole plant Salvinia molesta. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance completely randomized designed and the differences among treatments were tested by Least Significant Difference.  The results showed that in the mineral content of Na and K was present in all parts of the plant Salvinia molesta there were highly significant differences (P <0.01) while mineral Cl content on the young roots, root old, old leaves and whole plants there was no significant difference (P> 0.05).  Mineral S content on the young leaves, old roots, old leaves and whole plants was not significantly different (P> 0.05).   Keyword:  mineral, Salvinia molesta, Reservoir Batu Tegi.

Abstract

The aim of resetcah to determine the role of urea, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, and Trametes sp. the content of hemicellulose and cellulose after fermented. The research was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance at 5% level test or 1%, followed by the Least Significant Difference test (LSD). The treatment accorded to the palm leaf midrib P0 = palm leaf sheaths without addition or control; P1 = palm sheaths leaf + urea; P2 =palm sheaths  leaf + Phanerochaete chrysosporium inoculum; P3 = palm sheaths leaf +Trametes sp. Inoculums.  The results showed that the addition of urea, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, and Trametes sp. fermentation of palm leaf midrib affect the content of hemicellulose and cellulose. Hemicellulose content of the fermentation of palm leaf midrib best found in fermented palm leaf midrib + Trametes sp. and In the parameters contained in cellulose fermentation of palm sheaths leaf without treatment, palm sheaths leaf + urea, palm sheaths leaf + Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi SBM terhadap kadar protein, lemak, dan laktosa pada susu kambing Sapera. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2021 dan bertempat di Peternakan Bapak Setiono Heri Winarko, Kelurahan Yosodadi, Kecamatan Metro Timur, Kota Metro. Rancangan yang digunakan berupa 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga membutuhkan 12 satuan sampel. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu 12 ekor kambing Sapera yang sedang laktasi yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan bobot badan. Pengujian sampel susu menggunakan lactoscan untuk menganalisis kadar protein, kadar lemak, dan kadar laktosa. Data hasil pengujian dilakukan analisis of variant dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Polinomial Ortogonal. Hasil analisis of variant menunjukan bahwa suplementasi SBM tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan soybean meal dan mineral organik (Zn dan Cr) untuk mengetahui pemberian terbaik terhadap ecernaan ADF dan NDF pada kambing rambon jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan Desember 2022--Januari 2023 di Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung, Bandarlampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kelompok, dengan menggunakan 12 kambing rambon jantan. Perlakuannya adalah P1; ransum basal 100%, P2; 90% ransum basal + 10% soybean meal, dan P3; 100% rasum basal + mineral organik (Zn 40 ppm dan Cr 0,3 ppm), P4; 90% ransum basal + 10% soybean meal +. mineral organik (Zn 40 ppm dan Cr 0,3 ppm). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan Pemberian ransum basal yang diberi perlakuan penambahan soybean meal (SBM) dan mineral organik (Zn dan Cr) pada kambing rambon jantan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap nilai kecernaan Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) dan kecernaan Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan dan perlakuan terbaik mineral Ca dan Mg organik dengan mineral Ca dan Mg sabun dalam ransum terhadap jumlah eritrosit, hematokrit dan glukosa darah pada kambing rambon. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari-April 2023 dan berlokasi di Kandang Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Percobaan dilakukan pada 12 ekor kambing rambon jantan, dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini yaitu: P1 : ransum basal (onggok, silase daun singkong, bungkil sawit, dan dedak ), P2 : ransum basal + mineral organik (Ca dan Mg), dan P4 : ransum basal + mineral sabun (Ca dan Mg). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Sidik Ragam (ANOVA). Peubah yang diamati adalah eritrosit, hematokrit dan glukosa darah. Pemberian rasum dengan mineral organik (Ca dan Mg) dan pemberian mineral sabun (Ca dan Mg) tidak berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian mineral organik (Ca dan Mg) dengan mineral organik sabun (Ca dan Mg) tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah eritrosit, hemtokrit, dan glukosa darah pada kambing Rambon.
