Abstract

Research problem was how different moderate intensity and high intensity walking to decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. Research purpose was to determine differences in moderate-intensity and high intensity walking to decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. Research method was a quasi-experiment. Research sample were members of the DM community “Ngudi Waluyo”, Purbalingga many as 36 people. Moderate intensity walking at 4 km/h speed or 2.5mph and achieved target pulse Denyut Nadi Target (DNT) by 75%x(200-age). Abstract

One of the pillars in achieving good sport achievement is athlete’s nutritional status. Preliminary study on martial arts athletes in Student Sport Education and Training Central Office (BPPLOP) of Central Java Province showed that 8% of athletes had malnutrition. Survey of athlete’s consumption showed that average of energy consumption was only 74% from the number of energy requirement. The aim of this study was to test the effectiveness of smartphone application model “Nutriatlet” to increase energy intake of athletes. This study was conducted in 2017 using pre and posttest with control group design. We recruited 30 athletes with 15 athletes in each treatment and control group. Bivariate analysis was performed using cox proportional-hazard test. The output of statistical analysis were p value, median post-intervention duration, and hazard ratio (HR). The analysis was performed using STATA 12.1. The result showed that the athletes which performed dietary planning using Nutriatlet had 4 times higher possibilities to achieve an increase in energy consumption level ≥10% per time unit compared to athletes who did not do it.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) case results in Semarang Regency is still in the low category. The IHE method was developed through counseling and training to support the community empowerment needed in assisting TB cases handling and determination. This study aims to determine the IHE method's effect and effectiveness on the knowledge and attitudes of Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (Empowerment of Family Welfare; PPK) members regarding TB disease. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-postest design and a sample size of 25 active PKK members in the Sumowono sub-district were used. Then, the data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and N-Gran Score. The results showed the IHE method's effect on PKK members knowledge and attitudes regarding TB disease with P-values of 0.034 and 0.029, respectively. The IHE method effectively improved the PKK members attitudes towards TB disease (mean= 61.43%). There was an increase in the knowledge and attitudes of PKK mothers about TB disease through health education using the IHE method. The development in IHE is needed to be applied as a health education method in various other diseases.

Abstract

Type D personality is defined as the interaction between negative affectivity (NA) and social inhibition (SI). Hypertension has the highest cases in primary healthcare center (PHC) in Semarang City compared to other non-communicable diseases. This study aims to determine type D personality role on essential hypertension. It was a case-control study conducted at the PHC in Semarang City from January 2020 to March 2021 with 139 cases and 139 controls among 18-60 years old patients. Sample collection was performed by stratified random sampling. The instruments used were the DS-14 scale, structured questionnaire IPAQ-SF, food frequency questionnaire, and the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale, while data were analyzed using logistic regression. The prevalence of type D personality in the case group (64%; 95%CI: 55.9%-72.1%) was higher than in the control (36.7%; 95%CI: 28.7%-44.7%). Type D personality was discovered to be significantly associated with essential hypertension (OR: 3.07; 95%CI: 1.83-5.16). After other covariates adjustment, the association was still statistically significant (AdjOR: 2.41; 95%CI: 1.32-4.41).

Abstract

Indonesia is in danger because of the low awareness of the community to carry out social and physical distancing so that it can cause the spread of the virus to become increasingly difficult to control. Escalation of COVID-19 cases as of May 12 2020 in Central Java was 66 deaths, 980 confirmed and 229 recovered. One of the recommendations of the Ministry of Health in dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic is to carry out surveillance and response to COVID-19 extraordinary events. Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) implemented the recommendation by conducted periodic surveillance which was used to detect COVID-19 earlier during outbreak period. Students and employees filled out the COVID-19 vigilance surveillance form online. Then data analysis, contact tracing / follow-up, and dissemination of COVID-19 vigilance surveillance results were carried out. A total of 8360 respondents in two period have filled out the vigilance surveillance form. A total of 75.41% had no symptoms, 10.28% had a cough, and 1.21% had a history of fever > 38°C. Based on surveys of comorbidities as many as 1.32% have a history of hypertension and as much as 1.32% have asthma. Based on risk factors as much as 7.78% had visited health facilities as patients or visitors, as many as 1.38% of respondents had a history of close contact with People Under Monitoring (in first period). As many as 0.90% had visited other countries and 38.44% had visited other cities / regencies. We conclude that the majority of respondents have no symptoms, do not have concomitant conditions and have no risk factors for exposure to COVID-19. This survey can be used to measure prevention and early detection of COVID-19. It is necessary to deepen epidemiological and clinical characteristics as a more comprehensive step for screening respondents. Keywords: COVID19, Surveillance, Preventive Measures
