Abstract

The improvement of healthy behavior awareness of teenagers is still a serious concern. There are three major problems in teenage: sexuality, drugs, and addictive substance and sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV and AIDS. Among steps that can be taken to build teenage awareness to have healthy behavior is by applying Mapping Adolescent Programming and Measurement (MAPM) Framework. The objective of the research is to build an MAPM Framework model and obtaining a description of its effectiveness as an effort to improve teenage awareness of healthy behavior. The research conducted at Walisongo Kedungwuni Islamic Junior High School. Samples are students that have problem as mapped and measured from MAPM.  A non-randomized one group pre-test- post-test design was implemented in this study. The results indicate that attitude towards counseling, cigarette, juvenile delinquency, smoking attitude, attitude towards drugs, and premarital sex after the application of the MAPM positively changed (p-value <0,05). The attitude and behavior of students were improved. Teenage awareness of healthy behavior significantly increases (p value= 0,000) after the application of the MAPM framework. Further discussion will be discussed in the article below.

Abstract

Indonesia is in danger because of the low awareness of the community to carry out social and physical distancing so that it can cause the spread of the virus to become increasingly difficult to control. Escalation of COVID-19 cases as of May 12 2020 in Central Java was 66 deaths, 980 confirmed and 229 recovered. One of the recommendations of the Ministry of Health in dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic is to carry out surveillance and response to COVID-19 extraordinary events. Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) implemented the recommendation by conducted periodic surveillance which was used to detect COVID-19 earlier during outbreak period. Students and employees filled out the COVID-19 vigilance surveillance form online. Then data analysis, contact tracing / follow-up, and dissemination of COVID-19 vigilance surveillance results were carried out. A total of 8360 respondents in two period have filled out the vigilance surveillance form. A total of 75.41% had no symptoms, 10.28% had a cough, and 1.21% had a history of fever > 38°C. Based on surveys of comorbidities as many as 1.32% have a history of hypertension and as much as 1.32% have asthma. Based on risk factors as much as 7.78% had visited health facilities as patients or visitors, as many as 1.38% of respondents had a history of close contact with People Under Monitoring (in first period). As many as 0.90% had visited other countries and 38.44% had visited other cities / regencies. We conclude that the majority of respondents have no symptoms, do not have concomitant conditions and have no risk factors for exposure to COVID-19. This survey can be used to measure prevention and early detection of COVID-19. It is necessary to deepen epidemiological and clinical characteristics as a more comprehensive step for screening respondents. Keywords: COVID19, Surveillance, Preventive Measures

Abstract

Abstract Based on the results of the 2017 Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (IDHS), it was found that the macrosomia rate in Indonesia decreased by 0.5% compared to the previous 5 years, but the macrosomia infant mortality rate increased by 0.1%. Meanwhile, childbirth complications experienced by mothers increased from 35% to 41%. The number of birth weight samples studied were 9395 samples with a cross sectional approach which were then analyzed univariately and bivariately with the Chi-Square test. This study aims to determine the risk factors for macrosomia according to the 2017 IDHS data. The results showed that gender (p=< 0.001; PR=1.72 95% CI=1.4-2.1), history of ANC (p=>0.001 PR=1.48 95% CI=1.14-1.92), use of contraceptives (p = 0.001; PR = 0.78 95% CI = 0.64-0.94), and parity (p = 0.01; PR = 1.74 95% CI = 1.31-2.30) significant for the incidence of macrosomia. Multiple births, possession of health insurance, desire for pregnancy, maternal age, marital status, and maternal education did not have a significant relationship with the incidence of macrosomia. Abstract

Obesity prevalence in Asia was raising. Self-perception became an increasingly determinant predictor of a healthier lifestyle. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-perception and actual BMI among Indonesian and Taiwanese teenagers. This research was cross sectional and using participatory sampling of 415 participants from 6 high schools in Indonesia, and 717 participants from 7 high schools in Taiwan. The data was taken by enumerator using the Obesity Impact on the Quality of Life Perception Questionnaire (ObI-Q) and the Projective Test. Self-perception was statistically associated with actual BMI which state that obesity might be treated by hospital, clinics, or specialist (p0.001). Self-perception was also related to degenerative disease (p = 0.003) and social life (p = 0.04). Self-perception about sports stated that obese people could be as good as normal people (p=0.11). Most teenagers had the correct perception regarding ideal body image (p=0.04). The multivariable analysis showed that teenagers who did not have self-perception of desire to lose weight were 6.37 times more likely to have overweight than teenagers who had self-perception of desire to lose weight. Self-perception of desire to lose weight was a variable with major contribution to actual BMI among teenagers.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that contributes to the cause of death. Based on the analysis of the situation in Kawengen Village, Semarang Regency, there were several problems related to the incidence of DM, including the Non-Communicable Disease Integrated Guidance Post Program (Posbindu PTM), which was not running optimally. Based on these problems, it is necessary to form a movement called the Anti-Diabetes Mellitus Community Alert Movement (SIMANIS). Active case finding and detection of pre-DM cases aim to capture people who already have pre-DM symptoms, but they do not know. Furthermore, if caught, they can be followed up so that they are willing to go to the health service unit before complications occur. The implementation of this community service activity is carried out in four stages, namely the formation of SIMANIS cadres, education on prevention and control of DM to SIMANIS cadres and the community, ToT on how to fill in and use the SIDIA Card (pre-diabetes screening) to SIMANIS cadres, and use of the SIDIA Card for early detection active case finding pre-DM. There was an increase in the pre-post education knowledge score from 7.59 + 1.5 to 8.93 + 0.9 and an increase in the pre-post education attitude score from 7.96 + 1.22 to 9.07 + 0.78. SIMANIS through the use of the SIDIA Card can be used to increase public awareness in prevention, early detection, and case finding of DM.

Abstract

Background: Learning From Home (BDR) policy since 2019 in controlling the transmission of Covid-19 in Indonesia is suspected to be able to cause children to be limited in getting stimulation for partnerships that should be built between parents, the community, and teachers. Forty percent of preschoolers are prone to social development problems. Researchers intend to know the implementation of BDR as a determinant of social development problems of preschool-age children (5-6 years). Methods: The study design of this research was analytically observational with a cross-sectional approach. The variables include the implementation of BDR, the mother’s education, the child’s gender, the child’s nutritional status, and the child’s social development. The instrument used is Denver II. The sampling method used a simple random sampling technique with as many as 113 samples. Data analysis was performed in a bivariable manner, with a chi-square test. Results: This study showed that the implementation of BDR was related to the problem of children’s social development (p-value = 0.012, OR = 1.639, 95% CI = 1.16-2.31). Mother’s education is related to children’s social development problems (p-value = 0.045, OR = 2.227, 95% CI = 1.93-5.3). Conclusion: Online BDR is a determinant of social development problems aged 5-6 years. The community and government need to anticipate problems that can occur through early detection of developments so that they can be overcome as early as possible. Parents should be involved in online BDR assistance to manage screen duration following safety standards for health.
