Abstract

ABSTRACT Salmonella  typhi is  the  bacteria  that  causes  typhoid  fever  typhoid.  Typhoid  occur  in  the presence of bacterial infection Salmonella typhi. Bacterial infection control can be done by giving antibiotics, but the bacteria have a high level  of resistance to  antibiotics. Resistance of bacterial resistance to antibiotics caused an increased mortality rate. It is therefore necessary to find a new alternative antimicrobial drugs. Bidara upas (Merremia mammosa ( Lour ) Hall.f ) is a plant that has a role as an antimicrobial because it contains compounds like flavonoids, resins and bitter substances. The purpose of this to determine the effect of tuber extract bidara upas (Merremia mammosa ( Lour ) Hall.f ) on the growth of Salmonella typhi. The study was conducted from August to September 2013 in the Laboratory Kopertis X, Padang. Using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. Data were analyzed by of variance (ANOVA), and a further test of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed each tuber extract treatment bidara upas provides growth inhibition against Salmonella typhi bacteria. Of the study concluded bidara tuber extract (Merremia mammosa ( Lour ) Hall.f ) can inhibit the growth of Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTHealth is absolutely necessary effort, either individually or in groups. Integration efforts include health prevent, healing, restoration, and health improvement. Way that can be done to obtain that level optimal health one of with benefit medicine plant are packed in the form of herbal or traditional medicine. Herbal medicine is mixe of natural plant based ingredients that have not been processed. That material called simplisia may be whole plants or parts of plants such as leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, bark, wood, rhizomes, roots or eksudat plant. Research has been conducted in order to determine the presence of mold contaminants on a powder packing of medicine products circulating in the city of Padang. The research was conducted in August and September 2013 in the Laboratory of Microbiology Department of Biology, State University of Andalas Padang. Sampling was conducted surveys herbs, herbs selected as 6 brand with 3 different production based on the brand most widely sold and often consumed by people in the city of Padang. Isolation is done using  a Medium  PDA  with  level of dilution 10-1 to 10-7. From this research, six types of mold included to the class Ascomycetes, Deuteromycetes, and Zygomycetes. Molds, namely Aspergillus sp.1, Aspergillus sp.2, Verticillium sp, Penicillium sp, Curvularia sp and Mucor sp. The conclusion of this research is that the herbal powder packing products circulating in the city of Padang contaminated by several types of mold.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudent Worksheet is one sheet containing materials in which there is a summary of the material that is accompanied by a collection of exercises . With the LKS students are expected to understand the description of the subject matter provided by the teacher. Based on observations and interviews that have been conducted in SMA PGRI 3 Padang that in the second semester junior class XI using teaching materials such as worksheets, worksheets used in schools does not meet the learning objectives that are developed by teachers and worksheets used in schools only contains only a summary of the material and not equipped with an image.This research aims to generate worksheets based Problem Solving biological material system ekskresi of human on a valid and practical . Type of research is the development of the procedural model that aims to produce a product, the product is developed using 3 - D stage of Four models define phase , design , and develop .Research subjects of 5 people validator and 20 students. The research data is the primary data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result is the value obtained validity by faculty and teachers of 88,14%, while the value of the practicalities of 87,22% by teachers and by students of the value of the practicalities of 86,45% . It can be concluded that the BLM has produced a valid and practical .

Abstract

ABSTRACTChili sauce is a sauce derived from the main ingredient of chili peppers (Capsicum sp) of good quality, which is processed by adding spices with or without the addition of other foods and food additives that are allowed. Many outstanding chili sauce, ranging from truly hygienic until sauce that has a mixture of substances hazardous chemicals. This is due to the increasing number of home industry sprung up that are not wearing the correct rules to make the sauce. This study aims to determine the microbiological quality of the chili sauce outstanding local production in some of the market town of Padang. The method used in this study is a descriptive study. The sample in this study is 3 brand chili sauce and 1 sample comparison (brands that are well known and registered in FDA). Sampling was done with the survey directly to the 7 markets in the city of Padang. This study was conducted from July to August 2013 at the Faculty FMIPA Unand microbiology laboratory. The results showed there is microbial contamination in a local production of chili sauce Coliform bacteria and molds. Two samples were contaminated with Coliform bacteria characteristic of the presence of the turbid medium containing the sample and there is a gas bubble in the Durham tube, it indicates the presence of bacteria capable of fermenting carbohydrates (lactose). Fungi of the genus Aspergillus are found by 2 species, genus Penicillium by 2 species and 1 species which could not be identified (Unidentification). Could be concluded that the chili sauce kilogram outstanding local production in some of the market town of Padang identified contaminated by microbes.

Abstract

Steenis) is a plant that has a role as antimicrobial compounds that contain antimicrobials such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids and saponins. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leaf extract binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) on the growth of Salmonella typhi bacteria. The experiment was conducted from August to September 2013 in the Laboratory Kopertis X, Padang. Using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA), and a further test of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed each treatment binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Abstract

ABSTRACTTeachers in the learning process not only uses textbooks or supporting , but also can use other learning media to help smooth the process of learning. This study aims to produce a comic media learning biology valid and practical. This type of research is the development of research by using 4-D models that consists of 4 stages, stage definition (define), design (design), development (develop), and the spread (disseminate), do not disseminate stage. The study was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. Of this study generated media such as comics biology lesson on the digestive system of food material for students of class XI IPA valid and very practical. The validity of 83.1% with a valid criteria, while practicalities value 86.25% of teacher with very practical criteria, and the practicalities value 86.01%  of students with very practical criteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kandis Acid plant (Garcinia xanthochymus Hook.f.) is one herb that is intertwined with everyday dishes. Almost all dishes Padang  wearing kandis acids, especially fish based dishes. Damage foodstuffs by microorganisms has been happening since the material is located in the field (orchard) until the material is transported, stored and traded. Sources of microorganisms destroyer kandis acid can come from the environment, equipment or hand manager (human) itself. Mold are microorganisms that are found in food, including kandis acid.  Mycotoxins are toxins released by mold and are detrimental to health. This study aims to determine the types of mold contaminants on kandis acid (Garcinia xanthochymus Hook.f.) sold in Pasar Raya Padang.The research was conducted in July and August 2013 at the Labolaturium Microbiology University of Andalas,  by using the method survay descriptive survey is to undergo directly to Kandis acid in Pasar Raya Padang, further research, the results in the identification using reference books Barnett and Samson and Hoekstra subsequently described. Based on the results, the six species of three genus mold  Kandis acid contaminating namely: Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus sp.1 suspected Aspergillus oryzae, Aspergillus sp.2 suspected Aspergillus flavus, Penicilim sp.1,  Penicillium sp.2, Rhizopus oryzae, So Kandis acid is sold in Pasar Raya Padang contaminated by mold.

Abstract

ABSTRACT White Oyster mushroom is kinds of wood mushroom. In cultivation it, generally the society used hay and sawdust as media plant. In West Pasaman the media plant difficulties get. So, require to find another alternative media that is using empty bunch of oil palm which not yet been exploited optimally by society. Chalk addition used for setting the plant pH media to approach neutral situation. This research have been done in August 2013 until January 2014 in Padang. This Research used Experimental method and Complete Random Device (RAL) in 5 treatment chalk heavy of dolomid and 4 times repetition, is : A0: 0 gr/baglog, A1: 7,5 gr/baglog, A2: 15 gr/baglog, A3: 22,5 gr/baglog, A4:30 gr/baglog. The heavy of oil palm bunch that used is about 500gr/baglog. Based on this research, got result that giving chalk of dolomid at media of oil palm bunch can improve white oyster mushroom production and growth. The average of long spreading miselium quickest about 24 day at A2 treatment, the average of most fruiting body 14,80 at A3 treatment, wet heavy average of fruit body 68 gram at A3 treatment of and the diameter of fruiting body cover highest were 8,58 cm at A1 treatment.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT   Fusarium is the soil born pathogens fungi that cause withered disease in host plant. Fusarium can be hold in ground longtime, because it can be klamidospora. This fungi attack the water carrier network, so that it can  be disturb the transportation of host plant water. So the plant be withered, turn yellow and dwarf. The grow of fungi can be blocked by using biological agents, it is Trichoderma harzianum. The purpose of this research is follow to know T. harzianum ability in blocked the grow of F. oxysporum cause withered disease of papaya plants as In - Vitro. This research use RAL (The design of random completly) by 3 treatments. That consist of : (1) T. harzianum isolate 1, (2) T. harzianum isolate2, (3) T. harzianum isolate 3. The result of this research is analyzed by using Anova experiment (Analisis of Varians). The avarege of percentage result in the blocked treatment A = (60,63 %), treatment B = (51,36 %), treatment C = (65,27%). The average of colony diameter T. harzianum of treatment A = (7,53 mm), treatment B = (7,15 mm), treatment C = (8,17 mm). The average of colony diameter F. oxysporum of treatment A = (2,99 mm), treatment B = (3,18 mm), treatment C = (2,70 mm). It can be counlude that T. harzianum can blocked the grow of F. oxysporum cause of withered disease in pepaya plant (Carica papaya L) as In – Vitro.

Abstract

ABSTRACT When the current food safety issues very interesting people . Almost all food stuffs contaminated with bacteria and is still far in terms of cleanliness . One food that is contaminated chicken meat boiler . Chicken meat is a food of high nutritional value because it is rich in protein , fat , minerals and other substances that the human body needs . This study aims to conduct bacteriological tests on the boiler chicken ( Gallus gallus domestica ) of the modern market in the city of Padang . Descriptive research method . The study was conducted from September 2013 to January 2014 in the Laboratory Kopertis X  West Sumatra  . Sampling was done randomly at 3 modern market in the city of Padang , namely  Robinson Plaza Andalas , Hypertmart Basko Grand Mall and Brothers Mini Market . Further testing in total plate count test and the numbers test Escherika coli . From the research results obtained chicken meat contains boiler plate count bacteria in the range of 28 x 10-6 to 0 x 10-6 per cfu / g sample . Plate count bacteria Escherichia coli with a range of 20 x 10-1 to 56 x 10-1 per cfu / g sample . The conclude that  boiler chicken meat sold in the market town of Padang modern E.coli bacteria contaminated in excess of the maximum li mit of SNI and advised the public to be careful eating chicken boiler .Â
