Abstract

The results of this study can attract public interest in reading and studying lontar texts as a wealth of literature owned by the Balinese people. By increasing the interest of the Balinese people in reading and studying lontar, there will be a natural retention of vocabulary. The objectives of this study are (1) To determine the structure of the Rsi Sembina lontar text and (2) To determine sexuality education in the Rsi Sembina lontar text. This researcher uses a qualitative descriptive design. The data collection method used in this study is content analysis through document studies in Lontar. The data obtained are reduced or selected according to the research objectives. The data analysis technique in this study includes three activities, namely 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) conclusion. The structure of the Rsi Sembina Lontar text includes formal structure and narrative structure. The formal structure in Lontar Rsi Sembina includes the Mangala section (benefits of classical sexuality teachings), corpus (summary of the entire contents of the lontar text), epilogue (general commentary on the text), and language aspects (consisting of Kawi and Hybrid Sanskrit). The Lontar Rsi Sembina text's narrative structure includes the text's theme (teachings of Sexuality or Kama Tattwa) and the speech aspect. The sexuality teachings in Lontar Rsi Sembina include Harmony Teachings (harmony within the scope of Tri Hita Karana), Yoga Sanggama Teachings (Yoga Sanggama and Prayer), Spiritual Healing Teachings (spiritual-informed mantra strokes), Usada Teachings (use of traditional herbs or medicines). There are formal structures and narrative structures in Lontar Rsi Sembina. There are four sexual teachings in Lontar Rsi Sembina.

Abstract

21st-century education requires students not only to understand content but also to be able to think critically and solve problems. Innovation in learning strategies is needed to increase student engagement and understanding. The flipped classroom learning model is here to overcome this. The flipped classroom-based learning model is a student-centered learning model that increases learning effectiveness. Thus, it is necessary to conduct a study on the flipped classroom learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the results of a literature review study on implementing the flipped classroom model in Indonesian language learning. The SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method was chosen in this study. Data was collected by documenting and reviewing all articles on Indonesian language learning outcomes with the flipped classroom learning model. A total of 10 articles in the last 5 years obtained from Google Scholar and other sources were used in this study. Based on the literature review, there is an increase in students' critical thinking with the application of the flipped classroom model in Indonesian language learning. This is due to supporting factors: using the flipped classroom learning model and interactive learning media. Implementing the flipped classroom learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning. Educators can use this model as a learning innovation to achieve learning objectives quickly.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the hepatoprotective activity of grape skin extract (Vitis vinifera L.) (BGE) on hepatic histology and blood sugar level reduction. This study was conducted in four stages: extraction of grape skin using 96% ethanol, phytochemical screening, antihyperglycemic activity test and hepatoprotective activity test. The experimental animals were divided into five groups consisting of negative control (Na CMC 0.5%), positive control (Curcuma), TI (100 mg BGE/kg BW), TII (300 mg BGE/kg BW), TIII (500 mg BGE/kg BW). Phytochemical screening showed that BGE positively contains terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and carotenoids. The results of antioxidant analysis on BGE showed an IC50 value of 80.77 ppm, which included intense antioxidant activity. BGE and negative control can provide hepatoprotector effects on hepatic cells from hepatocyte cell damage due to paracetamol and can reduce blood sugar levels.

Abstract

Global ecological crises such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution demand the urgent integration of sustainability values into all areas of education, including language learning. Although the Indonesian Language curriculum offers substantial potential to foster ecological awareness, its pedagogical application remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the integration of eco-pedagogical values within Indonesian Language learning in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum at junior and senior high school levels. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using content analysis as the central method. Primary data were obtained from national policy documents, Indonesian language textbooks, teaching modules, and curriculum frameworks. These were complemented by interview data from school principals and language teachers across Bali Province, providing insight into both institutional policy and classroom-level implementation. The analysis revealed that ecological themes are consistently embedded in various genres of language texts including descriptive, narrative, expository, and procedural forms. Topics such as biodiversity, natural disasters, environmental ethics, and conservation practices are explicitly integrated into learning materials. Key national programs including the P5 initiative, the Adiwiyata School movement, and Permendikbudristek Number 37 of 2022 play a supportive role in reinforcing these values. The findings indicate that Indonesian Language learning serves a dual purpose by enhancing linguistic competence while simultaneously cultivating students' ecological literacy and ethical responsibility. This study contributes to the advancement of language education that supports sustainable development and encourages environmentally conscious citizenship.

Abstract

Writing effective sentences is essential in academic writing, particularly in abstract sections which serve as the initial summary of a research work. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of sentences used in abstracts of undergraduate nursing students’ theses at ITEKES Bali. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the data consisted of 30 thesis abstracts from the 2024 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. The analysis was based on five criteria of effective sentences according to Ramlan (2005): unity, coherence, conciseness, accuracy, and logical structure. The results showed that out of 428 analyzed sentences, only 221 (51.6%) were considered effective, while 207 (48.4%) were ineffective. The most frequent issues were lack of coherence (28.5%), verbosity (21.7%), and weak sentence unity (18.4%). These findings indicate a significant gap between the expected academic writing standards and students' linguistic abilities. It also suggests a need for reinforced instruction on scientific writing and sentence construction in the academic curriculum. This research contributes to the development of targeted language teaching strategies to enhance the academic literacy of nursing students in higher education settings.
