Abstract

Sampo digunakan untuk menghilangkan partikel yang tidak diinginkan, seperti minyak dan ketombe. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai sampo adalah teh hijau (Camellia sinensis var. assamica). Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat sampo ekstrak daun teh hijau yang stabil dan aman. Tahapan penelitian meliputi ekstraksi, penapisan fitokimia, formulasi sampo, uji stabilitas fisik meliputi organoleptik, pH, bobot jenis, viskositas, dan uji iritasi. Sampo diformulasikan dengan konsentrasi 5, 10, dan 15% ekstrak daun teh hijau dengan dan tanpa PEG-400. Ekstraksi menghasilkan rendemen sebesar 35%. Penapisan fitokimia menunjukkan simplisia dan ekstrak mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan tanin. Sampo ekstrak daun teh hijau berwarna coklat muda yang homogen dengan rentang pH 5,2-7,0, bobot jenis sebesar 0,93-1,10 g/mL, viskositas 1230-3910 cps, tetapi menyebabkan mata merah pada kelinci.

Abstract

Aloe vera has high nutrition content, but bitter taste so direct consumption infrequently. The bitter tastes overcome with preparation. The aim of this study is to make effervescent granule of dried aloe gel as food supplement. The steps in this study consist of making of dried aloe gel, phytochemistry screening and formulation of effervescent granule, quality tests, and hedonic test of effervescent granule. Freeze drying produced 7.57% dried aloe gel. Phytochemistry screening showed quinones, flavonoids, and saponins content. Effervescent granule formulated with concentration of dried gel 20% (F1), 25% (F2), and 30% (F3). The result of granule quality tests showed that effervescent granule meet good requirements with moisture content 0.20-0.21%, bulk density 0.5341-0.5384 g/mL, tapped density 0.6154-0.6178 g/mL with Carr index 13.29±0.025%, flow rate 9.61-9.71 g/s, rest angel 27.15-27.79o, pH 5.82-5.8, and F1 as the most favorable formula. Keywords: Aloe vera, dried gel, effervescent granule, food supplement

Abstract

Peptic ulcer were been caused by an imbalance between the aggressive factors and a number of defense mechanisms. Pepino (Solanum muricatum Aiton) fruit predicted had antiulcer activity. This study is aimed to test the antiulcer activity of pepino fruit juice in Swiss-Webster mice model which induced by 50 µL concentrated acetic acid. The steps in this study consist of making of fruit juice, phytochemical screening, testing of antiulcer activity at 300, 500, dan 800 µL/20 g BW in doses, and data analyzed using ANOVA. The concentration of pepino fruit juice was 2.5 g/mL. Phytochemical screening showed that pepino fruit juice contain alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins with protection ratio were 6.02, 23.15, and 63.29% at 300, 500, dan 800 µL/20 g BW, respectively.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry produces a various toxic wastes. Generated waste increases the risk of environmental and ecosystem pollution. It is necessary to have proper waste management to prevent waste pollution to the environment. In 1999, WHO published “Guidelines for the Safe Disposal of Unwanted Pharmaceuticals in and after Emergencies”, that contain treatments and safe disposal method, which is appropriate for any country. Many countries had developed and published regulations and guidelines on waste management. This article aimed to review the handling of pharmaceutical industrial waste in five countries in Asia. This review included studies from ProQuest, Crossref, and Google Scholar.  The pharmaceutical industries in Indonesia, India, Japan, Thailand, and China has their own state regulations in order to protect the environment. They also had implemented pharmaceutical industrial waste management following their regulation and guidelines. The method used to treat the waste is similar with WHO guideline. Some factors affecting the country regulations are the insufficient of land and waste management facilities, lack of awareness, low penalties, limited infrastructures, lack of waste testing facilities. The challenge in the future to handle pharmaceutical waste are increasing waste volume, decreasing land for waste management, sewer methods may contaminate water, possible air pollution due to incineration, so it is necessary to have more advanced methods in waste management that are safe for the environment and humans.Keywordz: Industry, Pharmaceutical, Waste Regulation, Asia

Abstract

Daun selada (Lactuca sativa L.) mengandung fitosterol, yang secara empirik bisa digunakan sebagai anti kolesterol. Fitosterol dapat digunakan dalam mengurangi absorpsi kolesterol di dalam saluran pencernaan, hal ini karena fitosterol memiliki struktur yang mirip dengan kolesterol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar total fitosterol pada daun selada. Ekstraksi yang dilakukan adalah metode maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut n-heksan:etanol. Penentuan kadar total kolesterol menggunakan metode kolorimetri, yaitu pembentukan warna hijau dari senyawa sterol dengan pereaksi Liebermann-Burchard. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa kadar fitosterol total daun selada sebesar 17,42 mg±0,7841/100g simplisia kering.

Abstract

Rhodamine B is a colouring agent for paint industry, textile and paper. It causes irritation at respiration systems and has a carcinogenic effect. At high concentration rhodamine B causes liver damages. Nowadays, it has been reported being added into cosmetics and food product such as lipstick, eye shadow, rouge, food paste, and kerupuk. This research was conducted to determine rhodamine B in the products by using HPLC and spectrophotometry UV-Vis. It was done through sample collection, sample preparation, validation of analytical method, and analysis of rhodamine B using HPLC and spectrophotometry UV-Vis. The results of HPLC and spectrophotometry UV-Vis showed that four samples of kerupuk (57,14%) and four samples of food paste (50%) contained rhodamine B. However, rhodamine B was not found in cosmetics. The results showed the urgency of fast methods to identify rhodamine, thus its content in food products is carefully controlled.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian analisis kadar flavonoid total pada rimpang, batang, dan daun Bangle (Zingiber purpureum Roscoe) dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% serta etanol 96% : HCl 12N dengan perbandingan (98 : 2) ; (96 : 4) dan (94 : 6). Metode yang digunakan berdasarkan pembentukan senyawa kompleks flavonoid - AlCl3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga bagian tanaman bangle (rimpang, batang, dan daun) mengandung flavonoid. Pelarut etanol 96% menghasilkan kadar flavonoid pada rimpang sebesar 0,00657% ; batang sebesar 0,00662% dan daun sebesar 0,00613%. Pelarut etanol 96% : HCl 12 N (98 : 2) menghasilkan kadar flavonoid pada rimpang, batang dan daun sebesar (0,00632% ; 0,00662% ; dan 0,00575%). Pelarut etanol 96% : HCl 12 N (96 : 4) menghasilkan kadar flavonoid pada rimpang, batang dan daun sebesar (0,00662% ; 0,00667% ; dan 0,00566%) sedangkan pelarut etanol 96% : HCl 12 N (94 : 6) menghasilkan kadar flavonoid total pada rimpang, batang dan daun sebesar (0,00683% ; 0,00665% ; dan 0,00628%). Abstract

Nutrition in hydroponic cultivation affects the electrical conductivity (EC) that must be controlled to fulfill the plant’s requirement. The aim of this study was to determine the application of the Mamdani fuzzy logic with multi output to maintain the EC value, mixed volume in the tank and real time monitoring the current condition of the system. Case studies on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and bok choy (Brassica rapa L.). The controlled system was NodeMCU and Arduino nano with analog pH, EC meter as input and pumps as an actuator. The results show that this application maintains an average EC value of 1.96 mS/cm and an average mixed volume of 53.4%. Plant conditions were sent to Android device in real time monitoring. The comparison data of manual and automatic (Mamdani fuzzy logic) monitoring were similar. Keywords: Lactuca sativa L., Brassica rapa L., Mamdani, multi output, real time monitoring

Abstract

Metabolit sekunder yang paling melimpah dan berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan, pigmentasi dan reproduksi pada tumbuhan yaitu senyawa fenolik. Senyawa ini telah menjadi fokus utama dalam beberapa penelitian karena efek biologis yang menguntungkan. Lokasi tumbuh tanaman merupakan salah satu yang dapat mempengaruhi kandungan senyawa aktif pada tumbuhan. Lembang, Bandung, Jawa Barat berada di daratan tinggi, memiliki suhu rendah, kondisi tanah yang subur dan sehingga cocok untuk budidaya tanaman herbal, termasuk temukunci. Polifenol dalam ekstrak tumbuhan bereaksi dengan pereaksi redoks spesifik, dalam hal ini yaitu pereaksi F-C dapat membentuk kompleks biru yang dapat diukur dengan spektrofotometri. Dalam penelitian ini dilaporkan bahwa kandungan fenolik total EEBR adalah 18.32± 0.615 atau setara dengan 183,83 mgGAE/100 g.

Abstract

Formula alternatif diperlukan dalam proses pengembangan formula, formula ini dibuat untuk menurunkan biaya produksi tanpa menurunkan kualitas produk. Pada formula tablet yang akan dikembangkan dilakukan penggantian eksipien yaitu disintegran karena konsentrasi disintegran yang digunakan lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan eksipien lainnya dan memiliki harga yang cukup mahal. Disintegran pada formula sebelumnya adalah croscarmellose sodium dengan 5% yang merupakan jenis superdisintegran. Dalam mengganti disintegran diperlukan studi literatur untuk membandingkan kemampuan disintegran tersebut, selain itu juga harus mempertimbangkan harga dari bahan baku. Hasil studi literatur dan perbandingan harga, menunjukkan bahwa sodium starch glikolat dengan konsentrasi 4% merupakan disintegran yang paling tepat untuk menggantikan croscarmellose sodium.Kata kunci: Formula alternatif, disintegran, efisiensi biaya.
